How Is The Ps5 Better Than The Ps4

Ps4 Vs Ps: Is It Worth Upgrading

PS5 vs PS4: 6 Months Later – Still worth it?

It’s not as clear cut as you may think…

So is it actually worth upgrading from a PS4 to a PS5? It’s a valid question to ask, perhaps even more so than whether to go for a PS5 Disc vs PS5 Digital in many ways.

The PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro are still excellent machines and are being used by millions around the world, but even over a year after the PS5’s release, we’ve arguably not seen the best the console has to offer.

However, with new firmware updates, the possibility of a 1440p output for the PS5, plus new games heading our way, it seems that the decision to upgrade isn’t quite as clear cut as you’d think…

Does Ps5 Support 1440p Resolution

Unfortunately no. According to the developers, 4K and 1080p are more common than 2K. It was simply considered irrelevant, so they did not add it. Of course, you can connect your 2K monitor to the set-top box, but the picture will not produce a native 1080p resolution.

Players, by the way, think that 2K is the most popular resolution at the moment. It is necessary to separate concepts, yes, yes. Since the console positions itself as a game console for a TV, on the market of which 2K resolution and 21:9 format are simply not popular, its pointless to wait for official support for 1440p resolution in the raging time.

Can I Play Ps5 Games Without Internet

Yes. But this is only possible if you purchased the standard version of the PS5 with a disc drive. Like the PS4, the next generation console can run offline games on discs without the need for a network connection. To do this, simply insert the disc into the drive, run the game offline. One point the latest released patches do not need to be installed.

Ps5 Vs Ps4 Pro Verdict

In all honesty, there’s little reason to buy a PS4 Pro right now unless your budget is very strict. Not only is the PS5 the more powerful console, Sony’s efforts to enable backward compatibility means that even if you buy a PS5, but you also won’t miss out on the PS4’s finest experiences. Most run better than ever before, with games like Ghost of Tsushima now running at 60fps on PlayStation 5.

If you’ve been waiting this long to buy your first PS4, youre probably better off going straight to the PS5 for future-proofing purposes. That said, upgrading from a Pro is another matter and a tougher dilemma. The Pro already supports 4K for many games at decent performance, and you’ll need deep pockets for a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 support to fully benefit from the PS5’s power and higher frame rates.

With that in mind, dont feel like you need to push your PS4 Pro to the side and get a PS5 right now. Theres still a lot your Pro can do for you and while stock for the PS5 is hard to come by, its still a strong console to have.

Ps4 Vs Ps4 Pro Vs Ps5 Price

PS4 Pro Review

Of course, one of the biggest differences between these PlayStation consoles is the price. Right now, you can pick up a PlayStation 4 for $299.99 and a PlayStation 4 Pro for $399.99. And while youll be hard-pressed actually to find a PS5 right now, the full-sized console will set you back $499.99. Sonys all-digital model is a bit more reasonable at $399.99, though just as hard to find.

If youre determined to save money, you can still get a great console with the PS4 Pro and a vast library of games to play. For $200 less, you could get a PS4 console with upgraded storage space and the same extensive library of games. Of course, Sonys older consoles are becoming just as hard to find as the PS5.

With that being said, a console is an investment. You dont pay hundreds of dollars for a new console to play one game on it and then be done. You buy a console to last you for years. So if you own a console for 3-5 years, or maybe even longer, will a $100-200 price difference matter that much to you?

If you can spend the extra money for a PS5, or you can wait until the PS5 drops in price in a year or two, thats the route I would go. The PS5 has such drastic hardware changes your games will run better, look better, and feel better on the PS5. To me, thats worth the extra $100-200 investment that, plus the PS5 exclusive games that will release after the PS4 and PS4 Pro are phased out.

Ps5 Vs Ps: Should You Buy A Playstation 5 In 2022

If you already own a PS4, you might be interested in taking the next step

PS5 vs PS4 which one should you choose? Generally, the latest release is the sensible option if youre not already invested in PlayStation, but there are many reasons to consider a last-gen console instead. As with everything, this comes down to your personal preferences and budget, so this guides here to help you decide what works best.

The PS5 is Sonys latest console and its significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 4. It has a better CPU, GPU, and a blazing-fast internal NVMe SSD, which can load games in seconds. Theres also Sonys DualSense controller, which boasts haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, adding an extra sense of immersion that we’d never experienced before.

However, if you dont already own a PlayStation console, there are a few reasons why you may consider a PS4 instead. Its true that weve gradually seen more PS5 exclusives, including Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Returnal, and the Demons Souls remake. But recent games like Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West were both cross-generation releases, and they run just fine on Sony’s older machine. Factor in an enormous back catalog of hits, and there’s a great case to be made for going with the cheaper PS4.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Psvr 2

While Xbox is leading the way on a simple subscription service, Microsoft has fully dismissed VR for the platform. Sony though has confirmed PSVR 2 for the PS5 with a number of significant upgrades from the original. The square edges of the first PlayStation virtual reality headset are gone, leaving slick minimalist lines and those lights used for tracking have disappeared too. Theres no need for an external sensor as, just like the Meta Quest 2, the PSVR2 uses onboard camera tracking in the headset for positioning. And, in news that will be of great relief to those with a sea of PSVR boxes and wires, theres only one wired USB connection.

Thanks to two 2000 x 2040 OLED displays, the headset supports full 4K resolution imagery up to 120fps. This means four times the resolution of the original headset and the field of view has been cranked up another 13 degrees to 110 degrees for an even more immersive VR experience. The original PSVR potentially isnt as crisp as it could be but still feels impressive, meaning that this upgrade is going to feel like a real literal gamechanger. Plus given that everyones eyes are different, a new lens dial has been added to the PSVR2 for ultimate clarity which will make a real difference. Theres even a new airflow solution to prevent lens steaming that Beat Saber players especially will appreciate.

The Ps5 Is Sony’s Fastest

Despite a chaotic launch, during a pandemic, Sony has broken records with the PS5. According to an SIE press release, it’s overtaken the PS4 as the company’s fasting-selling console, with over 10 million units sold since November 2020.

There are a few reasons for this, not least due to some of our least favorite people console scalpers. However, while there’s no doubt that console scalpers have taken a notable chunk of both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S stock, the hype for these consoles, especially the PS5, has been sky high.

The PS4 is currently the fourth best-selling console of all time. But, with the way the PS5 is going, we could see it replace the PS4 by the end of its life cycle.

How Much More Powerful Is Ps5 Than Ps4 Pro

The PS4 Pro is a souped-up version of the PS4 capable of 4K gaming and much faster graphical processing. The PS5 goes even beyond the limits of the PS4 Pro, offering things like 8K gaming and 4K at 120Hz.

It also loads faster with lightning-quick read/write rates thanks to SSD, the new type of hard disk drive or storage drive that could load Windows in 11 seconds rather than 3-5 minutes normally. In console terms, this means NES-like instant access to games!

The PS5 console is better than the PS4 Pro in almost every way Even more so when it comes to the PS4 Vanilla or the original PlayStation 4.

Ways The Ps5’s Ui Is Better Than The Ps4’s

The PS5 is an impressive gaming console and not just in terms of how it plays games. Here’s why Sony’s ninth-gen console’s UI outclasses the PS4.

Sony has made some much-needed improvements to the UI design on the PlayStation 5, making it more convenient and user-friendly than the PS4. While you might argue a gaming consoles UI might not seem like the most important thing in the grand scheme of things, wait until you are stuck using it for hours on end, game after game.

A great UI can make all the difference in those moments, improving the overall experience and making your console more enjoyable. With this in mind, lets look at some UI changes that make the PS5 better than the PS4.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Games

The PS5 and Xbox Series X have fundamentally different approaches to game libraries. The Xbox Series X assumes youll pick up the same games you left off on the Xbox One, and will want optimized performance across the board for all favorites. The PS5, on the other hand, has a bevy of exclusive titles that launched alongside its new console although most of them are also available on the PS4, to be fair.

At present, its hard to deny that the PS5 has the more exciting game selection. Just in terms of first-party titles, the PS5 launched with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demons Souls, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and the surprisingly delightful Astros Playroom.

Compare and contrast with the Xbox Series X, which didnt have any exclusive titles at launch. Instead, Microsoft released a list of 30 optimized for Xbox Series X/S titles, including fan favorites like Gears 5, Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Forza Horizon 4. While the Xbox Series X optimizations are indeed impressive, not all of these games are brand new, and theyre all available on Xbox One, PC or both.

Because of its superior game selection , one staffer chose the PS5 over Xbox Series X. But Microsoft’s stable of titles should improve as time goes on. You can also check our PS5 exclusives vs. Xbox exclusives story to see how the two libraries stack up.

    PS5 news at 9 am today(3/18)

This will definitely affect the downloads in games: just imagine how you turn on your favorite game and it starts just cosmically fast, its a thrill!

The Ps5’s Unique Features Create An Added Level Of Immersion

The Xbox Series X also fails to match some of the PS5’s console-specific features. Sony’s exclusives make special use of the PS5’s DualSense controller, which has a built-in speaker and sensitive haptic feedback that’s not available on Xbox.

PS5 also has a proprietary spatial surround sound system for players who use headphones, giving them a unique 3D audio experience. The Series X does offer a similar audio option through Dolby Atmos, but you have to pay $15 to unlock this technology on compatible headphones.

While these features don’t make a huge difference in gameplay, they do bring an added level of immersion and make playing the PS5 feel like a more distinct experience.

Xbox Series X does have other console-exclusive features like quick resume, which stores the exact place you stopped playing and lets you swap between games without lengthy initial loading screens. However, quick resume doesn’t work for every game and mostly speeds up navigation rather than enhancing your gameplay experience.

    Processing And Graphics Hardware

Both consoles are significantly more powerful than their predecessors.

The Xbox Series X is “four times more powerful than Xbox One X”. It sports a custom Zen 2 eight-core processor running at 3.8GHz per core.

The PlayStation 5 runs on an eight-core Zen 2 processor too, but at 3.5GHz per core.

RAM inside both is similar: 16GB GDDR6.

They also both run RDNA 2 graphics. However, the Xbox Series X has a slight upper-hand with its GPU having 12 TFLOPS of power across 52 CUs. In comparison, the PS5 has 10.3 TFLOPS of power across 36 CUs.

This effectively means that developers can potentially eke more from the Series X than PS5. And that has proven the case with certain multi-platform games, with the Xbox Series X sometimes offering higher resolutions than PS5.

However, both machines have shown that they are capable of excellent graphical performance.

Ps5 Vs Ps4 Pro: Should You Upgrade

The PS5 is here but is Sony’s new console right for you?

PS5 vs PS4 Pro which one is right for you? If youre buying new, it’s generally sensible to pick the latest release, but what if you already own a PS4 Pro? Are the differences between the two consoles significant enough to justify an upgrade? Theres much to consider, and this guide will help you decide whats best for you.

The PS5 is Sonys newest console, replacing the PS4 Pro as its most powerful gaming system. It boasts a better CPU, GPU, and an internal NVMe SSD, making the PS5 a faster and more capable console. It also comes with Sonys new DualSense controller, including new features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to make you feel immersed in gameplay.

But if you currently have a PS4 Pro, you dont necessarily need to upgrade it at least, not right away. Theres a growing PS5 exclusive library like Returnal, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Demons Souls, but youll still find plenty of cross-generation releases to enjoy on your older PS4 Pro. It already has a huge library of existing games that shouldnt be missed.

It’s worth noting that finding where to buy the PS5 is still tricky. We were hoping stocks would improve across 2022 and largely, it has, but most retailers continue to sell out soon afterwards. For those buying new, though, it’s double trouble as the PS4 Pro has been discontinued, making that significantly tougher to find.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Price

Judgment: PS5 vs. PS4 Pro Comparison

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X cost $500 apiece. Since the two systems are very similar, this category would seem to be a tie at first glance. However, the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X are not the only variants available. Theres also the $400 PS5 Digital Edition and the $300 Xbox Series S.

The PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition are identical, save for a 4K Blu-ray physical disc drive in the former. The latter has no disc drive, as the name suggests. On the other hand, the Xbox Series S has significantly different hardware from the Xbox Series X: a less-powerful GPU, a smaller SSD, less RAM and so forth.

As such, both consoles have cheaper variants, and both the PS5 Digital Edition and the Xbox Series S have legitimate applications: the former for digital diehards, the latter for casual players or secondary setups. Still, since the Xbox Series S is a somewhat different system, and not just a console variation, it’s hard to pick a definitive winner. Both full-fledged systems cost the same amount of money that’s the most important thing at the moment.

    Winner: Tie
