How To Install Mods
Now that you know some of the best mods available for download, lets talk about how you can add them to your game.
First, boot up your PS4 and start Fallout 4. If you have the latest firmware, youll see an option in the main menu that says MODS.
Select this option. If you dont have a Bethesda.net account, youll need to make one before installing any mods. It should only take a second, though.
Once youve logged in, youll see two main sections: Featured and My Library.
The first tab is a collection of the most popular mods at the moment, so rest assured theyre checked for quality.

Where To Install Mods
Installing mods manually may seem like a daunting task, but in many cases it’s a much simpler job than one might think. Apart from scripting tools or lighting overhauls , almost all of the mod files will be installed into the Data folder of your game’s directory. By default, the directory is installed to:

1. Go to Bethesda’s official website and create a Bethesda.net account, if you haven’t already.
2. Once you have an account, select the Mods option on the game’s main menu and log into your account.
3. Start browsing and downloading mods. When you select a mod, you can read its description and in-game changes on the right, and its download size and ability to favourite, download and report on the left.
4. Once you have finished downloading mods – you can see everything you’ve installed in ‘My Library’ at the top of the page – go back to the Main Menu by pressing Back. The mod selection and data files will reload, and you can load a save with the mods installed.

Disable Half Of Your Mods
If you have a massive load order and need to quickly boil down which mod is causing an issue, disable half of your currently active mods. Should the problem persist, disable half of your remaining mods. Repeat this until the problem goes away. This lets you quickly narrow down which mods could be causing issues with your game.

What Is The Difference Between Skyrim Mods On Ps4 And Xbox One
After some initial back and forth between Bethesda and Sony, the PS4 version of Skyrim will feature mod support, but will only allow assets that already exist within the game – so don’t expect anything like Thomas the Tank Engine Dragons on PS4.
As a result, there has been a large gulf between the number of mods available on both systems – 38 on PS4 versus 119 on Xbox One. Meanwhile, the storage space reserved for mods on each console is also different – 5GB on Xbox One, and 1GB on PS4.
As our story on the news mentions, mods should mostly consist of text changes that can be as small as 1MB, so expect creations like a level editor with new quests and dialogue, or changes to how the world behaves, than anything new and unusual.

Once you’ve created an account and installed the manager, log into your Nexus account in the manager to enable direct downloads. To login, click on the profile icon in the bottom-left corner of the manager window – keep in mind, the popup may open behind the main NMM program window.
When you find a mod you want to install, simply click on the files tab of the mod’s Nexus page and select the files / version you want to download, then click on those files.
Once the download completes and you have read all of the installation instructions provided by the creator, simply double-click on the mod or select it and press the Enable Mod button to install and activate the mod.
If your game crashes during play or on startup, open the Plugins tab of the manager and make sure that your load order is arranged correctly.

What’s funnier than bumping your charisma and luck all the way up? Choose Your Own Perks adds a locker by the lift in Vault 111, which contains books that give you a specific perk when read. You don’t need to start a new save to use this mod, so don’t be afraid of losing hours and hours of progress.
You might want to use this mod in a separate save, though, unless you already beat the game. Getting access to every perk easily eliminates the challenge of any encounter. But then again, not all perks are combat-oriented, so no one will fault you for unlocking Wasteland Whisperer early.
