How To Connect Your Ps4 Controller To Your Pc With A Usb Port
Once you have DS4 installed, you can attach your controller to your computer through a USB port. Plug the charging cable into your controller, or any suitable micro USB cable, then attach the other end into one of the PC’s compatible USBs. You’ll likely get a small alert from your computer telling you that it’s detected your controller, whereupon it should work with any games you play that are controller-compatible!

Connect Ps4 Controller Via Bluetooth
In the new window, make sure Bluetooth is set to On.
With your controller off, hold the Share and PS buttons on the DualShock 4 until the light bar starts flashing.
Your controller should appear in the Manage Bluetooth devices window on your PC as Wireless Controller. Click Pair, then enter a passcode of your choice and click Next.
Your controller is now connected, and you can play any game that has support for the PS4 controller as well as any games you may have running on emulators. Its worth noting that the vast majority of controller-compatible Steam games are only compatible with Xbox controllers, but well get to that in a moment.

Use Ps4 Controller With Pc Via Bluetooth
Sonys PlayStation 4 controller is wireless. To keep cables out of the way, the controller can be connected to a PC via the built-in Bluetooth function.
- Bluetooth must be activated on the computer so that the connection between the PC and the hardware can be established.
- To do this, first open the Settings and select Devices there. The Bluetooth function appears at the top of the menu and is activated by clicking on it.
- In the next step, select Add Bluetooth or other device and click on the first item Bluetooth .
- The PC will now search for Bluetooth devices close by. The PS4 controller must also be activated so that it can be connected to the PC. This is called pairing mode.
- To activate this mode, press and hold the PS button and the Share button at the same time.
- The PC will recognize the controller as a wireless controller, which you finish by clicking on the selection . From this point on, the computer is connected to the PS4 device.
Even with this connection method, some games require a of the controller. Next, well show how to customize the PS4 controller and change the button assignment for a game.

How To Emulate A Steam Controller With A Ps4 Controller
Valve now offers official support for the PlayStation 4s DualShock 4 controller. It will function similarly to a Steam Controller, with support for the controllers touchpad and other features. Games that support the Steam Controller will work with the PS4 controller, and you can also create profiles to emulate keyboard and mouse events with the PS4 controller in various games that dont offer official support for the controller. In other words, it works just like the Steam Controller.
To enable this feature, open Big Picture Mode in Steam by clicking the controller-shaped Big Picture Mode icon at the top-right corner of the Steam window.
Head to Settings > Controller Settings in Big Picture Mode and enable the PS4 Configuration Support option.

Reconnect any connected PS4 controllers and theyll appear here. You can select them and configure them in the same way youd configure a Steam Controller.
For example, you can select a game in Big Picture mode and select Manage Game > Controller Configuration to configure how your PS4 controller behaves in the game. This screen provides a lot of options for remapping what your controllers buttons do in a game.

How To Connect Ps4 Controller To Steam
Before you start using your PS4 controller with Steam, there are some preliminary actions you should take, including making sure you have the latest version of the Steam client. Follow these steps:
Make sure any nearby PlayStation 4 consoles are unplugged. Otherwise, the controller might try to sync with the console instead of your computer.
Launch Steam on your PC.
Select Steam in the top-left corner of the window to open a dropdown menu, then select Check for Steam Client Updates.
When Steam relaunches, plug your PS4 controller into a USB port on your PC.
In the Steam client window, select View > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.
You should see your controller under Detected Controllers. Select the box beside PS4 Configuration Support. From this screen, you can give your controller a name, change the light’s color atop the controller, and toggle the rumble feature on or off.
If Steam isn’t detecting your controller, double-check the USB cable connection. Unplugging the controller and plugging it back in sometimes fixes the problem.
Select Submit to save your changes.
Install The Ds4 Driver
Click on Step 1: Install the DS4 Driver button to install the needed PS4 drivers on your Windows 8.1 OS and later computer.
Click on Step 2: If on Windows 7 or below, Install 360 Driver button only if you have a Windows 7 or older OS since this OS doesnt come with the 360 drivers needed to run the DS4 drivers correctly by default. Otherwise, skip it and proceed to the next step below.

The Sony PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 gamepad is one of the best gaming controllers available on current consoles. Your Switch Pro Controller can be connected to your PC or laptop using either Bluetooth or a USB cable. The cable connection is similar to that shown above. For the Bluetooth connection, hold the Pairing button on your Switch Pro Controller until the lights at the bottom of the controller flash.
