Re: Issues Setting The Correct Brightness For Ps4 Version
- Float this Topic for Current User
Guns, trees and walls lose details and are mostly black. There is an in-game video setting for “Brightness”, by default set on 50 . This is where adjusting the settings would do the trick, only problem is that there isn’t anything to set the correct brightness level to… No black bars, background or pluge patterns… Nothing!?!?
My monitor and PS4 have both been calibrated and give the perfect image straight out of the box, without having to adjust anything, with all other games. I would love to see a patch in the future for this issue… Please give us a pattern to set brightness properly. Or an in-game THX optimizer like Star Wars has got in the movies on disc. Thank you!
Just to be sure I rechecked all my settings and it turned out my monitor automatically picked up a different color space with an other level of brightness. By adjusting this setting, the default setting of 50 turned out to be spot on again.
I think gamers would really appreciate a slightly more advanced brightness setting, with an image to set it up properly, in stead of an empty white screen. In main menu go to: “settings” -> “video” -> “brightness”, to find the setting I’m talking about.
Here is an example of a set-up pattern, in the attachment.
How To Automatically Adjust Brightness Based On Remaining Battery Life
You can automatically adjust your displays backlight based on how much battery power your laptop or tablet has left, too. On Windows 10, you can use the Battery Saver feature to do this. Open the Settings app, select System, and select Battery.
Ensure the Lower screen brightness while in battery saver option is enabled, and then choose the percentage at which youd like Battery Saver to kick in. When Battery Saver activates at that level, it will decrease your backlight and saving you power. By default, Battery Saver kicks in when you have 20% battery remaining.
Unfortunately, theres no way to adjust the exact brightness level Battery Saver will choose. You can also manually enable this feature from the battery icon.

The DualShock 4s light bar is a neat thing. It works with many games to mimic whats happening on the screenin The Last of Us, for example, it will change colors as your health degrades, and turn red as you die. Its a little thing, but its cool. The downside is that its also a battery hog, causing the controller to die much quicker than most of us would like. Thankfully, you can dim it.
To get started, head into your PlayStations Settings menu. This is denoted by the little suitcase icon.
From the main Settings screen, scroll down until you see Devices and jump in there.
Then choose Controllers.
The last option in this menu is Brightness of DUALSHOCK 4 Light Bar. Thats wshat youre looking for.
Its set to Bright by default, but there are two other options available: Medium and Dim.
To confirm your selection, just tap X.
Thats really all there is to it. This will apply to the currently-connected controller, but its also profile-specific. So if you like the controller dim, but someone else who shares your PS4 wants all the brightness all the time, there wont be any issues.

Is Low Brightness Better For Your Eyes
Playing games or watching movies in low brightness is not good for your eyes health. If the brightness is too low, your eyes might get strained as you would be focusing too hard. Strained eyes can lead to headaches and eye fatigue. In the long term, your eyesight could get weak.
Gamers spend hours in front of the screens. Playing for that long in low brightness would result in an eye strain and is harmful for the long run. You can also get headaches and vision-related concerns.
This is why, the next time you are playing a game or watching a movie, make sure that the screen brightness is set depending on the room lighting so that your eyes can easily adjust to it.
How Do I Enable Hdr Gaming My 4k Tv

Make Sure Its Not A Slow Boot
Make sure your PS4 is not just really slow. It may sound ridiculous, but it could be that your PC is just starting up very, very slowly. So be patient and give it 15-20 minutes to make sure that there really is a problem.
PS4 becomes slow for several reasons. Fixing a slow PS4 may what you need to learn here instead.

C Check The Power Button
If you press the power button then you hear the PS4 fan spin, or the PS4 itself turns on for a moment then turns off, a potential culprit is the PS4 power button itself isnt working or the wires connecting that button to the motherboard.
If the PS4 power button is defective, you can simply use a screwdriver to jump-start your system.
Heres how to do it:
- Locate the two power switch headers on the PS4 motherboard. These small headers are often labeled something like PWR_SW, with + and symbols. If the power button from the PS4 case is already wired to these headers, youll need to remove those cables.
- Make sure the 4/8 CPU and 24-pin motherboard power cables are connected.
- Lightly touch a metal screwdriver to the two power switch header pins, and the system will turn on if everything is connected correctly. This process accomplishes the same thing as hitting the power button on the PS4 case when properly connected, or using an onboard power button on a PC motherboard.
If your system turns on when jumping the headers with a screwdriver, it could be that the PS4 case is the problem.
E Check The Cmos Battery
You should also try replacing your PS4s CMOS battery. This tiny battery supplies power to the motherboard so that it can store BIOS settings. Its essentially a watch battery and costs only around $10 to replace. If your PS4 is more than three years old, its a likely cause of your PS4 failing to boot.
