PLAYSTATION NOW for PC: Is It Worth It?? – Play Playstation 4 Exclusives on Your PC!

Thats one of the first questions a lot of people have, and naturally soif youre shelling out $20 a month, you want to know that you have some choices.

According to Sony, PlayStation Now has over 450 titles from the original PlayStation to the PlayStation 3, including over 100 PlayStation exclusive titles. Thats a pretty decent-sized number, at least until you think about all the games that have been available for all the PlayStation consoles over the years. The original PlayStation was released 22 years ago!

Youll find some of the best PlayStation titles out there: The Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted, God of War, and a lot more. If you want to know if your favorite games are available on PlayStation Now, you can find a full list everything the service has to offer here.

If you dont see your favorites, dont stressSony adds new games every month. So maybe theres a chance itll show up eventually. Im still holding out hope for the Jak and Daxter trilogy, personally.

Devil May Cry Hd Collection & Devil May Cry 4

  • Developer: Capcom Entertainment
  • Platform: PlayStation 3
  • Release Date: March 28, 2012 January 31, 2008

Capcom’s Devil May Cry HD Collection contains remasters of the PS2 trilogy, and it is a must-play for fans of the hack and slash sub-genre. Despite featuring similar aesthetics and the same protagonist, each game plays quite differently:

  • Devil May Cry is closer to Resident Evil, delivering a claustrophobic setting with impactful and punishing gameplay. The original DMC stands slightly apart from the rest of the series due to the combat being more restrictive than in its sequels, but the game has aged incredibly well.
  • Devil May Cry 2 is quite forgiving and opts for large open spaces rather than tight corridors. It is generally regarded as the weakest entry in the trilogy, if not the entire franchise.
  • Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening greatly expands the gameplay, introducing four combat styles that each come with their strengths, weaknesses, and unlockable moves. Stylish, challenging, and replayable, DMC 3 is a fantastic game.

Devil May Cry 4 is also on PS Now and expands nicely on its immediate predecessor. This entry also introduces Nero as a playable character, and he controls quite differently from Dante.

Playstation Now Opinion Is Ps Now Worth It

Not so long ago, the answer was that PlayStation Plus has a lot of problems. However, Sony has worked hard on the service and as a result we have been using PS Now more and more over the past year.

After all, like its major competitor Xbox Game Pass, PS Now is an ideal way to try out games that youre not sure if they are your thing, or to play older titles that you missed at the time. Sony makes the Netflix for games idea come true with this.

In general, streaming now also works much better, with minimal input lag. And if your internet is of lower quality, you can of course always download. The fact that you can now also use the service on PC is already a good sign. PS Now will no doubt be very important to Sony in the coming years and the service is well on its way to becoming a strong competitor to Game Pass.

What Is PlayStation Now, and Is It Worth It?
  • Developer: Monolith Productions
  • Platform: PS3
  • Release Date: October 17th, 2005

There have been a lot of amazing shooters produced over the years but some of them are much more unique than others and manage to stand out among a heavily saturated crowd. F.E.A.R. is a much different experience than the norm, branding itself as a First-Person Shooter/Horror hybrid, the release was definitely ahead of its time both visually and mechanically.

It may look a little dated now but it’s still a blast to play. Slowing down time is an FPS gimmick that’s always fun and there are some thrilling moments in the first game.

Is The Playstation Now Subscription Worth It

Is PS Now worth it in 2020? Taking all benefits into account, the answer is yes. When the service started back in 2014, skeptics were doubtful about the streaming quality and mandatory internet connection but as long as you are okay with playing games on 720p resolution, real-time gameplay is as responsive as if it were running on local hardware. If not theres always the game download option that allows you to enjoy the native graphics of any game you install to your personal console.

Considering where things are going with the growing popularity of streaming services, PS Now price stands out as a worthy investment. Sony will not back down to competition, therefore it reasonable to assume more features and updates will be added to the service as time goes on. Lastly, always keep in mind that PS Now costs will be significantly cheaper if you buy this service from Eneba. Feel free to browse through the deals on our website, pick the most preferred option, and gain the most out of your PlayStation or PC gaming experience with a cheaper PlayStation Membership!

You Can Stream Hundreds Of Games Spanning Multiple Console Generations

With access to all these games, PS Now essentially removes the lack of backward compatibility on the PS4 and PS5 with PS2 and PS3 titles. PS Now allows you to play all of your games on one console, accessible anytime you wish.

How Do I Increase My Chances Of Getting A Ps5

Major retailers like Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target and Best Buy don’t usually give much notice ahead of a restock. Sometimes they’ll have a restock in the morning, other times in the afternoon and, in some cases, even in the middle of the night. Here are some tips to help you get the jump on the competition.

First tip: Don’t wait until you see an alert for a PS5 inventory drop. Check the links at major retailers for stock updates daily or even multiple times a day. If you do happen upon some PS5 availability, go all-in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desktop, for example, open the retailer’s page in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Then do the same on your phone and tablet. The more devices and browsers, the better. It’s like with lottery tickets: The more you have, the better your chances of winning.

Second tip: Create accounts at the different retailers and make sure you’re already logged in if you’re going to try to get a PS5. Make sure all your shipping, bill and payment info is updated on whatever device you can buy from, whether it’s a laptop, desktop or phone. This makes checking out a lot faster, which is crucial as retailers’ sites get quickly bogged down, leading to people losing their chance of securing a PS5.

Third tip: Keep checking back with this post and follow CNET and Oscar Gonzalez on Twitter for updates.

Do You Think Ps Now Is Worth It

PS Now Worth it in 2021 April

In the end, it comes down to what you think is more convenient for you. A lot of time goes into playing the games you pick. Most games these days stretch between 8 to 20 hours of gameplay easily. Personally, I think its worth every cent.

Not only do I get to explore a wake of games Id have a hard time purchasing , but I also get to finish them if I wanted.

It also acts as a testing ground for purchasing games you could find out what game youd play for a long time, and what game is the one-and-done kind before you go ahead with a purchase.

The service may not be for you if youre slow with finishing games, or if you dont want to play so many games in general.

In those cases, the 30-day window can be a bit off-putting. You could save your money by buying the physical copies instead, and playing them at your own pace.

But, if youre either someone with a penchant for finishing games faster than Quicksilver could dodge bullets , or someone who wants a taste of everything thats there, then PS Now might just be perfect for you!

Given how the subscription service gives you a 1-week free trial, theres always a choice for you to give it a try before you make that judgement call.

And with that, youve reached the conclusion!

If youve already tried the service, then let me know what you think! Is PS Now worth it? Or would you rather stick to buying games?

Ps Now Design And Interface

Once you pick a game, the service will connect you to a remote server that will host your session. A few moments later and the game is up and running.

From there, it’s up to you to navigate the respective title’s own menu, settings, controls, and the like. The service doesn’t magically remaster old titles, though, so especially for older games like Ico or Rogue Galaxy, the visual quality will largely depend on how well your television upscales low-resolution content.

If you set up a streaming session, this means there’s no need to download the game though you can now do just that for the PS4 and PS2 libraries on the service. If you’d rather temporarily save a game to your hard drive and plough through it offline than rely on the strength of your broadband connection, the option is there.

PlayStation Now’s interface is incredibly simplistic, maybe overly so. After you get past the paywall titles are separated into categories with featured titles, usually grouped by genre, at the top.

Scrolling down, you’ll find more discrete categories, like 2D fighting games or JRPGs, for example. There are about a dozen categories to pick from, with some titles appearing in multiple categories.

After you pick a game from the list and play it for the first time, the game will appear on the home screen so that you can easily pick it up again in the future.

PlayStation Now hasn’t quite unfolded that way. That’s not to say that the service is bad, mind you. It’s just… different.

Streaming And Downloading Games

When you stream a game, you control it through your local device, but the game is run remotely and the video output is streamed to your local device.

To stream games to your PS4, PS5, or PC, you need a broadband internet connection of at least 5Mbps. To stream in 1080p resolution, you must choose a game that supports it and have a broadband internet connection of at least 15Mbps.

Save files for streamed games are stored in the PlayStation Now save cloud. If you wish to download a game to your PS4 or PS5 to continue your progress after streaming it first, you will need to transfer the save data from the PS Now save cloud to your PS Plus cloud storage , and then download it to your local device from there.

$10 Per Month Or $60 Per Year

To compete with Xbox Live Gold, Sony created PS Plus in 2010 for the PlayStation 3. The subscription allowed for online multiplayer, discounts in the PSN Store, cloud saves and monthly extra games. Initially, PS Plus free games included PS3 and PSP titles. Eventually, it included Sony’s other devices such as PS Vita, PS4 and most recently, the PS5. Extra games included with the subscription are only available while a PS Plus subscription is active. Stop paying, and you lose access to those games.

There’s an extra bonus for PS5 owners. PS Plus subscribers who have managed to get a PS5 also have access to the PS Plus Collection, a library that includes some of the best PS4 games, such as God of War, Bloodborne and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

PS Plus is still needed for most online multiplayer, but it’s not required for free-to-play online games such as Fortnite, Call of Duty Warzone and Apex Legends. Microsoft recently moved free-to-play games like Fortnite out from behind the Xbox Live Gold paywall as well.

Even if you aren’t interested in online multiplayer, It’s still a subscription that can pay for itself multiple times over with the monthly bonus games. In 2021 alone, PS Plus subscribers received Control, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Battlefield V and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Playing God Of War On Ps Now Made Me Rage Harder Than Kratos

PlayStation Now on PC: Is It Worth It?

Earlier this week God of War returned to Playstation Now on PC, which got me very excited about playing through this stone-cold modern classic again. I hadn’t used Playstation Now on PC before, though I’d had a fiddle on the Playstation itself, but basically figured it would be a more-or-less frictionless experience and that, even if I was technically still playing a PS4 game, I’d be playing it on my PC.

How wrong can one BOY be?

The Playstation Now on PC client is what I’d describe as functional: it works, and it looks alright, but it completely lacks the slickness I usually associate with Sony products. A minor irritation was that it made me verify I was a human every time while I was trying to remember my extremely unguessable password, but compared to what came next this can slide.

When you choose your game in the library, Playstation Now will in short order start up a window and the game will begin launching . Initially I thought things were going to be just fine: sure, the game was running in 1080p but the frame rate seemed solid enough, and it looked great.

And slow pace is what Playstation Now does best. I imagine if you used Playstation Now to go through a Telltale game or something fairly relaxed, the experience would be OK. But halfway through God of War’s opening you get served up the game’s first fight, and here’s where the wheels come flying off.

Why Is The Ps5 So Tough To Find

There are three big reasons why you’re still struggling to get a PS5. The first is the most obvious: The system is really popular. Sony says the PS5 is its best-selling console and has already sold more than 10 million units since launch.

The second reason is the current chip shortage impacting most of the world’s electronics. Sony did say it has secured enough chips to meet its goal of 14.8 million consoles for the fiscal year.

As for the last reason, it comes down to bots. Resellers are using software to purchase a massive number of PS5s at once, leaving only a few for actual humans to buy. Retailers added various bot protections during PS5 restocks, but these restrictions only hamper resellers so much.

God Of War 3 Remastered

  • Developer: Santa Monica Studio
  • Platform: PS4
  • Release Date: July 14, 2015

PS Now lets players experience the full scope of Kratos’s bloody romp through Ancient Greece, including titles like Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. As the final entry in the epic saga , God of War 3 throws caution to the wind as Kratos mows through one deity after another.

By this point in the series, God of War has broken Kratos down to little more than a killing machine a being fueled solely by revenge and destruction. While not as narratively complex as some other entries in the franchise, God of War 3 is the “ultimate” spectacle, a game that holds back nothing.

Playstation Now On Pc

Well above the mark, we started PS Now and loaded up a few games. We tested a number of titles, but most of our time was spent with DOOM 2016, Mighty No. 9 and Bloodborne. Thankfully, we didnt have to queue for any of these games, though our testing was done mid-afternoon on a Wednesday.

The games felt surprisingly responsive. There were a few issues with artifacting, but they were quickly resolved. Out of all the games we tested, there was never a weak connection error, either. If youre playing a game and your connection drops, PS Now will warn you to save and exit the game.

That said, there was a decent amount of input lag. It didnt break the experience even fast-paced shooters like DOOM were playable but it was noticeable. It seems the issue is more pronounced on newer titles, like DOOM, as we didnt have many input issues with Mighty No. 9.

All games are locked to 720p, going down from there based on your connection. Games dont look bad on a standard 1080p display, but playing on a 4K display isnt a good time. Textures look muddy, with noticeable artifacting. Unfortunately, theres no way to adjust your resolution.

Despite being locked to 720p and having the slightest bit of input lag, PlayStation Now is very usable. We tried it a few years ago, in fact, and can speak to how much it has improved. Games are playable, which is more than most cloud gaming services can say. That said, youre still not getting an ideal experience.
