With the PS5s holiday 2020 release window just four months away at this point, we would absolutely expect Sony to announce the PS5 price at this event for both the standard PS5 and the PS5 digital only edition.
However, Sony has said not to expect any major PS5 announcements, which means we wont get the price of the console.
Bugsnax Gets A Big Update
Bugsnax is going big in its latest update. The games newest update, The Isle of Bigsnax, pumps the usually-tiny bugs to jumbo-size. To reel in the titanic threat, players have to shrink the Bugsnax down to size before capturing them. Players also get their own home to customize and relax at, as well as a mailbox where other island inhabitants can drop off thank you presents. The update will be free for all players and arrive in early 2022.
King Of Fighters Xv Is Getting A Beta Test
An open beta is on the way for King of Fighters XV. The beta, which starts on November 19 at 7 p.m. PT and runs until November 22 at 7 a.m. PT, will give players access to eight characters, including new addition Dolores. Beta participants will be able to battle each other in online lobbies or get a feel for the game in its offline training mode as well.

What Is State Of Play
PlayStation regularly hosts a major event called State of Play.
It’s a chance for Sony to show off new games coming to its platforms.
Importantly, this State of Play will reveal games landing on the new PS5.
Some of the games will be out very soon, and others could be a long way off.
In any case, Sony isn’t giving up much info.
“This Thursday, a State of Play broadcast will serve up new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5.
“Including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in Junes PS5 showcase.”
It’s expected to begin at 2pm PT, 5pm ET and 10pm GMT.
And Sony said it will last for around 30 minutes.
Playstation State Of Play 2022 Games
Sony is keeping a tight lid on what games they might have to show at the first State of Play this year. Henderson teased Hogwarts Legacy as one of them, but it could also include anything ranging from Final Fantasy XVI to a number of smaller, as-yet unannounced games.
We know comparatively little about Hogwarts Legacy, aside from when it takes place, and Square Enix already said they plan to show more of FFXVI sometime in the spring, following unexpected delays due to Covid-19.
With PS VR 2 set to release sometime this year as well, we’d be surprised if Sony didn’t also set aside a few minutes for its launch games, such as Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

What To Expect At State Of Play October 2021
Sony has been pretty upfront about what we should expect to see from this State of Play live stream. The focus will be on third-party releases rather than games from PlayStation Studios developers.
One game that is guaranteed to be featured is Little Devil Inside. PlayStation took to to announce the latest State of Play showcase would include a first in-depth look at the upcoming action-adventure game. This is the only title confirmed to appear so far.

Could this showcase finally see the reemergence of Hogwarts Legacy? The RPG set in the world of Harry Potter was announced at Sonys PS5 event last year and hasnt been seen since. Fans are growing impatient for an update, and one could at last come here.
There is also a possibility that games like Final Fantasy XVI, Gotham Knights, and The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be showcased. All of these are third-party titles that have been mostly absent from showcases throughout the year, so would be logical inclusions for this State of Play.
The recently announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy could also get a new trailer now that a release date has been confirmed. Expect the promotional push for this remastered collection to really ramp up over the next few weeks.

Gran Turismo 7 is among the most anticipated PS5 games of 2022, and it’s getting a whole livestream showcase Wednesday. PlayStation’s State of Play stream will feature “just over 30 minutes of new PS5 footage and gameplay details” for the next entry in the 25-year-old racing series.
Sony’s wildly popular PS5 gaming console has been going in and out of stock at retailers since its November 2020 launch, and Gran Turismo 7 is scheduled for release on PS5 and PS4 on March 4.
What Can We Expect From The Next Sony State Of Play
While Sony’s next State of Play hasn’t been confirmed, we imagine the event will provide updates and announcements on PS4 and PS5 games coming in 2022.
We imagine that its next event could include updates on the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok, GTA 5 on PS5 and Forspoken – both of which are due to release this year. We also imagine we’ll get updates on some upcoming indie titles like Stray.
We’re also hoping to get an update on PSVR 2, but we expect that Sony’s new virtual reality hardware will instead take center stage at a PlayStation showcase later this year.

Unlike many major games this year, Rift Apart will be a PS5 exclusive, rather than launching cross-generationally. This is because the game will allow players to seamlessly jump into rifts and travel between worlds, which can now be rendered at previously impossible speeds.
Rift Apart was recently announced for a , making it a game that we both have a date for, as well as a lot of gameplay footage and info on. Still, while we don’t need to see too much more on this game before it releases , it’s likely Insomniac Games will want to use the State of Play to build up hype for the game.

After a bunch of confusing messaging regarding how PS5 backwards compatibility works with PS4 games, Sony needs to not only clear the air from a communications point of view, but also provide folks with some actual PS4 games running in an enhanced form on PS5. Our money is on top PS4 exclusive title The Last of Us Part 2 being showcased at higher resolution and frame rate. Sadly, we also think that Sony will draw a negative line under PS1, PS2 and PS3 backwards compatibility on PS5 also thanks to PlayStation Now.

Much like PS Plus, PS Now on PS5 will also require a next-gen upgrade. Given that the PS4 wasnt really equipped to stream gameplay to a standard that many of us expect in 2020, it seems a lock that PS5 will raise the bar significantly higher in this regard. Dont be surprised if a revamped PS Now ends up being blended into a third tier of PlayStation Plus, also. Likewise, Sony expanding their selection of PS1, PS2 and PS3 games on PS Now also seems likely too and would be a good way to stimulate further interest in the service going forward.
