Smyths Toys is pegged for the 1st 4th Sept , according to trusted tipster @PS5StockAlertUK.
Currys says a “limited” amount of PS5 consoles are available to pre-order now at the following stores.
Game‘s PlayStation 5 listings page has been updated with a new release date of 17th September, which means Game could drop PS5 stock between 7th – 9th September. It typically drops around 10am, and then again around mid-afternoon.
EE has revealed that new stock is “coming soon”. Visit ee.co.uk to register your mobile number by 12pm on Wednesday 2nd September for SMS updates.
Argos is set to drop again soon but there’s no firm dates as yet. Supermarket giant Asda unleashed PS5 stock on 26th August but is now sold out.

In the US, GameStop and Walmart delivered PS5 restocks last week.
What About Ps5 Bundles
Some retailers, including GameStop, Newegg and Antonline, tend to sell the PS5 as part of an expensive bundle once they have the console in stock. PS5 bundle prices can be eye-watering at first glance such as this $779 Newegg bundle with three games and an extra controller but they also sell out much more slowly than the console itself.
With that in mind, its worth considering a bundle if it includes stuff you were going to buy for your PS5 anyway. Just make sure the prices of those extra games and controllers add up to roughly what youd pay for buying each separately. The last thing you should do is pay a grossly inflated price just to bring your PS5 home.

However, just because Sony has yet to release an official black PS5 doesnt mean that you cant pick one up from a third-party seller.
The company CMP Shells has offered fans the chance to get their hands on a black PS5 through black faceplates.
It previously pulled its black faceplates following threats of legal action from Sony. However, on the product page for the CMP Blackout the name given to the black PS5 shells the company addresses the question of whether it could be sued.
The patent is pending, and all sales finalized before its approved are untouchable, CMP Shells said. We didnt know before. Now we do.
CMP Shells also added: We have not replicated anyones proprietary design and have actually improved upon the original by allowing for more ventilation.
Just 1000 units of the black PS5 shells have been made, which CMP claims is to keep our shells super exclusive.
Alongside the two shells for the PS5 console, the kit will come with a black vinyl middlepiece and a Vinyl controller set for the DualSense controller. The black shells cost $69.99 and will be delivered in March, according to the company. At the time of writing, the Digital Edition shells have already sold out, but the Disc Edition shells have not.

Seven: Disc Drive Or Digital
The discussion around an optical disc drive for the PS5 revolves around the core concept that games have always been a physical thing. Weve become more and more comfortable with digital downloads, which is leading people to believe the PS5 may ditch discs altogether. This assumption was wrong. The PS5 will include a disc drive, or it wont. There are two models to choose from.
Blu-Ray sales have been falling in recent years, and experts have declared them a dying format, but there doesnt seem to be any rush to replace them. That hasnt stopped new technologies from emerging though. Blu-Rays can hold up to 50 gigabytes, but were going to need more space for PS5 games.
Sony and Panasonic are developing a new replacement for Blu-Ray discs. The idea is to fight back against the rise of streaming content. These discs can hold more than 100 gigabytes a piece, which doubles the storage potential. Again though, we run into issues when games grow in size. Are we looking at a return to the days of multiple discs for longer games? The other option is, of course, digital downloads or streaming.
Sony has already been working on this with a service known as PlayStation Now. This is a digital streaming service where you can rent or buy games and play them over an internet connection. Its not perfect, nor is it immensely popular in comparison to physical discs, but it does show Sonys interest in the format.

Gta 5 Ps5 And Xbox Series X Enhancements: What Are They
“The new generation versions of GTA 5 will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever,” is how Rockstar describes the upgrades for GTA 5 on next-gen hardware.
Rockstar hasn’t been overly specific with what the enhancements will be, though there have been reports of it managing 4K and 60 FPS on PS5 thanks to a post on the Official German PlayStation blog. This hasn’t been officially confirmed by Rockstar just yet but it’s something PC players can already achieve. We’d speculate that the game is likely to resemble the PC version as it runs on high-end hardware though it’s possible Rockstar is planning other tweaks we don’t know about yet.
Rockstar has also teased that GTA 5 and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X will bring “new features and more”.
We expect Rockstar will confirm these enhancements in the near future, given that GTA 5 is set to land on PS5 and Xbox Series X in November
First Price Details Emerge
Given the power of the PS5, its natural to think that the price may be more than past generations, but some new details should help put things into perspective.
While I would categorize it under the column of wishful thinking, one Canadian retailer has started taking pre-orders for the PS5. The price? Roughly $399 when converted to the U.S. Dollar!

The same price as the PS4 would certainly be interesting, but its possible they simply wanted to get ahead of the game on preorders and set a placeholder price. While we wait for concrete information, check out the rest of our early clues below!
Speaking on financial briefing in early November 2019, Sony revealed some thinking behind the price of the upcoming system.
They told investors on the call that theyre focus is on market penetration and market acceptability. Taking away the flowery terminology, this essentially means that they are going to price it in a way that doesnt shock the average consumer.

When Did Sony Start Working On The Ps4
If you guessed 5 years before the launch of the PS4 you are correct. Mark Cerny the lead system architect for the PS4 was once quoted as saying the development of a next-gen platform started about five years ago. The concepts began swirling around as early as 2008! This was only a mere two years into the PS3 life cycle. Interestingly enough, Sony partnered with Bungie, the developers of Halo and Destiny, to design the PS4 controller so that it would be more beneficial when being used in first person shooters.
In 2012 development kits started going out to developers. These were bare bones PC rigs with the new AMD Accelerated Processing Unit chipset included. They were codenamed Orbis. Sony officially announced the PS4 in February of 2013 at a special event, thus revealing its existence to the world.

When Will Sony Announce A Black Ps5
Sony has remained quiet about any console or console variant, which means we cannot be 100% certain about a black PS5s existence until an announcement arrives.
It seems unlikely that a black console will be ready for a while, following comments from PlayStations Head of Global Marketing, Eric Lempel, in an interview with Geoff Keighley.
When pressed by Keighley about different coloured controllers or consoles, Lempel stated: Right now, its a hard enough job to get the unit we showed out so, well talk about it at some point.
With this problem still existing now as we venture further into 2021, it could be a while before the black PS5 announcement.
