The new Amazon PS5 invitation system has changed things up. However, the usual restock time is consistently between 10:30am ET to 11:28am ET once a month when it happens nationwide in the US. There were a few times in late 2021 when the Amazon PS5 restock stretched to 2pm ET for the PS5 Digital Edition console, which sold quickly whenever that happened. Theres also a pattern to the Amazon PS5 restock date: between the 19th and the 30th of each month.
That PS5 restock time at Amazon has been consistent for 2022, while the end-of-the-month date pattern has been true since Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Unlike each Walmart PS5 restock, Amazon doesnt announce when itll restock new consoles.
In other words, if you want to buy the PS5 from Amazon in June 2022, stay aware of the Twitter tracker alerts during the prime restock time of 10:30am ET to 11:28am ET.
Why Is Amazon Offering Ps5 Restock Invites
As mentioned above, the most obvious reason for Amazon’s new invite system is scalpers. Keeping bots out of its virtual aisles means the retailer can keep as many consoles going to actual customers as possible, rather than feeding into the resale market further. However, there may be other, more technical reasons for this change of tactic.
PS5 restocks put a considerable strain on any site they land at, with shoppers barging through the doors to grab their consoles. That’s why we often see stock disappearing, only to land once again a few hours later – retailers will flip the stock switch whenever their sites are getting overloaded, turning availability back on when things have calmed down again.
Using an invite system like this allows Amazon to streamline its PS5 restock process and keep its site running smoothly while it does so.

Update, March 16 : TechRadar reports that Amazon should have the PS5 in-stock on Thursday, Match 18. They did not reveal an exact time as to deter scalpers and bots.

Sony is rumoured to be implementing a big change that, in theory, should make it easier to get a PlayStation 5 console over the coming months.
According to the UK’s biggest PS5 restock tracker Talha Sonmez ), it appears that Sony is finally shipping PS5 consoles individually to retailers for the first time since the gaming hardware launched in November 2020. It will be then left up to said retailer as to whether it decides to bundle the console with a game. The likes of Horizon Forbidden West and FIFA 23 have been most commonly included as of late.
While it cannot be denied that PS5 stock has been more readily available in 2022 than in 2021, the majority of restocks consist of bundles. These are often much more expensive than the standard console by itself and frequently arrive with unnecessary add-ons like cameras, Blu-ray players and T-shirts . That’s why this decision to give retailers standalone consoles could be massive for general consumers just in time for too.

Sign up for stock alerts: Plenty of retailers offer to alert you to when they have PS5 restock. We suggest you sign up to those services for the retailers that are offering them.
Find the right product page: It might sound obvious, but make sure youre on the actual buying page for the PS5 or the PS5 Digital Edition. If youre on a landing page, you might end up missing the moment new stock arrives.
Sign in to retailers: Make sure you sign in to any retailers you might already have an account with. This will make things a lot faster when buying a PS5 if you spot one on sale. And speed is of the essence today.

Amazon’s Next Ps5 Restock Will Take Place On Friday
Those on the hunt for a PS5 restock over the last few weeks haven’t been disappointed. Amazon has been offering regular drops over the last month, and the next one is due this Friday. You’ll need to sign up for an invite to get a chance to grab a console here. Simply sign up using your email address and on Friday, you might receive an email with an exclusive link to buy a new PS5 console. Amazon doesn’t guarantee that everyone who signs up will receive the invite so you may still miss out on your chance.
With PlayStation 5 consoles continuing to be hard to find, this is still one of the best chances to get hold of the system even without an actual discount involved. Instead, you’ll either pay $499.99 for the standard PlayStation 5 or you can pay $549.99 for the console along with a digital download copy of Horizon Forbidden West, one of the best PS5 games to play right now. It’s a PS5 restock format that Amazon has been following throughout September with weekly drops so if you miss out this week, you may well have another chance the following week. Like with everything to do with this deal though, there’s no guarantee.

What Happened With The Amazon Ps5 Restock
There was a second Amazon PS5 and Xbox Series X restock that nearly happened on Thursday at 6pm EDT / 3pm PDT, about 32 hours after the first restock. Technically, only the PS5 Disc was available on Wednesday morning, while the PS5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series X were first-timers last night.
However, no one was able to add these products to their Amazon cart and check out in the end. Update for today, May 28, people still haven’t been able to get a console. Instead, they were greeted with an Amazon error message: “This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.” You could cart the console with various tricks we’ll explain below, but you couldn’t check out.
At first, this Amazon restock was thought to be a limited regional drop based on the very specific error message. That made sense. However, we soon discovered according to Matt Swider’s two-thousand Twitter replies that no one was able to cart a Microsoft or Sony next-gen console in the US.

Playstation 5 Price Vs Xbox Series X Price
So, how does the PS5 compare to the Xbox Series X on price? Better than many expected, as it happens.
The Xbox Series X and the full-fat PS5 are identically priced, at £449 / $500 / AU$749.
Both consoles also have a disc drive-less, cheaper sibling: that’s the Xbox Series S and the PS5 Digital Edition. This is where things get really interesting, because the Xbox Series S costs only £250 / $299,/ AU$499, whereas the PS5 Digital Edition is £360 / $400 / AU$599.
That’s a big step up, but it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Series X but the PS5 Digital Edition is identical to the standard PS5 except for the lack of a disc drive. In other words, the PS5 Digital Edition is more of a proper next-gen games console than the Xbox Series S.
Other Places To Get A Playstation 5 Today
If you missed out on the above Walmart PS5 restock, you can always check out StockX. Though the site is a third-party reseller, StockX authenticates PlayStation 5 consoles and offers some of the best third-party pricing around. Note, however, that you’ll have to pay a $100 premium or more over the console’s MSRP to buy one there.
It’s possible that you’ll still be able to get a PS5 console at Best Buy, Walmart or GameStop, even if you’re not willing to drop your hard-earned cash on a premium membership or third-party reseller offering. Your luck depends on checking frequently for the latest PlayStation 5 restock news — and on tapping those “check stock now” buttons to get lucky.

Amazon will be offering both PS5 and Xbox Series X units in its September 2 restock heres everything you need to know.

The restock will be going out to qualifying customers while supplies last. We take this to mean that itll be live for customers in the US, and presumably ones that havent already bought the same console from Amazon already.

Ps5 Retailers In The Us
Aside from Amazon, here’s where you can snag the elusive gaming machine in the US.
Walmart: Over the past two weeks, the “Horizon Forbidden West” console bundle has been consistently showing up on the Walmart inventory. The last time that it held a restock was Sept. 9. This week, there’s no assurance if the store will hold another restock for this month.
Target: Target has done some major changes when it comes to its online restock. Since implementing the in-store restock, it did not look back at the virtual queues anymore. The last online PS5 restock took place in April.
GameStop: Last month, GameStop Pro members rushed to the shop to score the console. There are more PS5 bundle offers in the store, but so far, we haven’t seen one yet.
Best Buy: There’s no need to be a Total Tech Member to take advantage of the PS5 restock a Best Buy. You can obtain the console without paying any subscription. That’s what happened last July when the lucky buyers reportedly bought PlayStation 5 units without any conditions.

Xbox Series X At Walmart
Also of note, a limited number of Xbox Series X consoles are available at Walmart US Stores. And its the same story you have to refresh Walmarts website like crazy if you want to buy one.
Dont feel too bad if you miss out. The good news is that Walmart will hopefully have periodic restocks as new inventory arrives. Definitely keep checking those links!
When Will Amazon Restock Ps5 And Xbox Series X
According to Amazon customer service support, there was a ‘website issue’ and both the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be back in stock ‘soon’. It’s important to note that this error message wasn’t just limited to new consoles. We also saw the same problems with the newly announced Sonic Colors Ultimate: Launch Edition pre-order. Amazon refused to deliver it to our address or any address we tried in the US.
Amazon officials also promised to call affected customers who complained once new PS5 and Xbox console inventory went live. That seemingly indicates that the next Amazon PS5 and Xbox Series X restock is imminent. Hence why you should follow PS5 restock tracker Matt Swider for his Twitter restock alerts today.
However, we’ve also seen customer service chat reps throw out random answers at Walmart, Best Buy and just about every other American retailer. Basically, they’re all about telling people what they want to hear. You could probably convince them to tell you there was going to be a PS5 restock today every single day of the week.
In other words, take this news with a grain of salt.

Playstation 5 Digitial Edition Was Recently Restocked At Amazon
You need the following information if youre looking for a PS5 restock update from Amazon.
In May, Amazon announced that it restocked the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console. The announcement came around 8:00 AM PT on a Wednesday. For anyone on the East Coast, thats 11:00 AM ET.
Note this because PS5 restock announcements from Amazon might come up around that time regardless of how infrequent they occur.
Theres no indication of exactly how much PS5 inventory Amazon have on hand whenever they announce their PS5 restock updates.
Amazons PS5 restock announcements are special for two reasons.
First, Amazon doesnt typically make an announcement when there is a PS5 restock update. Instead, the console just appears in stock on Amazons site and then sells out almost immediately. Amazons announcement often indicates a more significant restock with much available inventory.
Second, Amazon doesnt explicitly state that the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition consoles will be available only to Prime members. Thats often the case, but almost anyone can order the PS5 consoles once a special PS5 restock announcement comes up. But, you can opt for an Amazon Prime Membership to be first in line for these PS5 restocks.
Amazons PlayStation 5 restock has increased in the last few months. Keep checking Amazon to see if the PlayStation 5 is back in stock so you can grab one before others do.
Amazon Ps5 Restock Dates For July 2022
While the Amazon PS5 Disc restock time is easy to nail down, the actual in-stock date is a bit trickier. However, we have a usual window of dates: the Amazon PS5 drops are between the 19th to the 30th of any given month, based on my analysis of the Amazon PS5 restock history .
Amazon usually has a PS5 restock once a month, although it skipped out on giving us a PS5 drop in January and the February stock was nothing more than a blip. The PS5 restock in March 2022 was just for the PS5 Digital, with the PS5 Disc version never coming through by March 31. This may be why we saw the PS5 restock on April 19, 2022 happen earlier than weve usually seen from the US retailer.

Ps Direct Ps5 Restock
PS Direct is again out of PS5s after releasing more stock on Tuesday. Unlike last week, when consoles were only available to PlayStation Network members who received an email alerting them of the stock drop, customers could join a virtual queue to try and secure a console.
