PlayStation have consistently announced State of Play closer to the actual live stream, usually, only a few days out. This is why it wont be a surprise if they only announce this alleged Showcase only days before it is scheduled to go live.
It has been a while since weve seen or heard from Avalanche or WB regarding Hogwarts Legacy, making the next PlayStation Showcase the perfect place to reveal new gameplay or a confirmed release date. The game is scheduled to come out on both last-gen and current-gen consoles as well as for PC.
God of War Ragnarok also remains shrouded in relative mystery as the game is scheduled to come out in 2022, with no exact release date confirmed. The game received a new trailer towards the end of the year, but that has been it in terms of footage of the game.

Although weve been accustomed to missing out on the usual December dedicated PlayStation event for a couple of years, that means weve We havent received any new information from Sony since months about what to expect on the PS5 in the coming months and even years.

With Sony’s absence from E3 this year, is it very likely we will see a State of Play event this summer.
In this State of Play, Sony may choose to shed more light on some of its latest upcoming releases such as Gran Turismo 7 and God of War: Ragnarok.
When Is The Next Sony State Of Play
Sony hasn’t confirmed when its next State of Play event will take place but, with its most recent taking place on February 2, we imagine another won’t take place until at least March.
Typically State of Play events take place every few months, and in the run-up to a PlayStation exclusive release, with Sony hosting its main PlayStation showcase between June and August.
