Square Enix is developing a remaster of Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core, the beloved Final Fantasy 7 prequel which released for PSP back in 2008. Set to launch later this year, Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is set to feature updated 3D models, HD graphics, full voiceovers, and new music arrangements.
A Confident Debut From Developer Striking Distance Studios
From the outset, one of the games triumphs is undoubtedly its atmosphere, a nauseating mix of decay and desolation. There is a level of intrigue, too, as your character Jacob, an unassuming interplanetary cargo transporter, is taken captive at Black Iron Prison on the planet of Callisto for no apparent reason.
What follows is of course an exercise in Murphys law, as Jacob descends into the underbelly of the prison while a mysterious disease rampages through its population. With a variety of locales, namely the aforementioned prison under duress, sterile steel labs, snowy outposts and underground dwellings, there is enough diversity to punctuate the moment-to-moment gameplay.
Playstation 5 Specs And Features
When lead system architect Mark Cerny gave an interview with Wired magazine in April 2019, the world began to discover a little more about the next generation PlayStation that Sony has been working on for four years.
Although tight-lipped about the exact capabilities of the new device at the time, the article made clear that Sony would be delivering a fundamental change in the gaming experience for users – a real step up from the PS4 or it’s Slim and Pro cousins.
Since then the full PS5 specs have been confirmed:
- The console will have an 8-core, 16-thread CPU.
- The graphics will run on a custom AMD GPU.
- The new console will have custom 825GB SSD storage built-in.
- The optical drive will run 4K Blu-ray discs.
- The PS5 is expected to have a revamped user interface
- The controller will have adaptive triggers and haptic feedback for a more immersive gameplay experience.
- The memory interface will be 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit
- The memory bandwidth will be 448GB/s
- The IO throughput will be 5.5GB/s , typical 8-9GB/s
- There will be an NVMe SSD slot for expandable storage
- The PS5 will support USB HDD external storage for PS4 games

The Last Of Us Part 1

Naughty Dog’s masterpiece originally released on the PS3 has now made it way to the PS5 in the form of The Last of Us Part 1. This remake has been rebuilt from the ground up for the PS5, with upgraded visuals, DualSense features, modernised gameplay and mechanics, and accessibility options. It’s the same game, but brought into the PS5 generation in so many ways.
Sony Ps5 Controller What Do We Know
The October announcement also revealed details about the PS5 controller.
Sony’s new controller will feature haptic feedback that replaces the “rumble” technology typically found in joypads.
The term “haptic” literally means “relating to touch”, and so it’s about providing better touch feedback to your hands.
That means more vibrating motors in your controller in places like the triggers and even joysticks to give what PlayStation calls “a broader range of feedback”.
“Crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field,” said PlayStation boss Jim Ryan.
“You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud.”
The new controller will also feature adaptive triggers technology built into the L2 and R2 trigger buttons.
Developers will be able to program the resistance of these triggers so you can feel the “tactile sensation of drawing a bow and arrow”, for instance.
Game creators are already receiving early versions of the new controller.

Why Is The Ps5 Out Of Stock
It began, arguably, with some cat food.
Perhaps it began weeks before, when PlayStation opened the pre-orders for the new PS5 without any warning, forcing the company to apologise. Lets be honest: PS5 preorders could have been a lot smoother, it admitted last September, in an attempt to apologise to upset fans that has not stopped being relevant.
Or perhaps it began some time after the release date on November 19, on one of the many days when PS5 stock arrived and then sold out again almost instantly.
But at the very least the cat food or the grills, or sticky tape, or various other objects that were shipped to customers on the PS5s release date, instead of the console that had presumably been stolen at some point during the delivery seemed like the perfect illustration of the problems that have hit PlayStation fans in the months since. Fans were left without the consoles they wanted, and with the sense that something fishy was going on.
Whenever it was, at some point in recent months it has become clear to the many fans who want a PlayStation 5 that getting hold of one will probably not be as simple as paying the £350 or £450 price tag and picking one up from a shop.
Unexpected demand, problems with coronavirus and lockdowns, resellers and a host of other problems have meant that the PlayStation 5 has been the source of as much frustration as it has been fun.
Everything is sold. Absolutely everything is sold, Mr Ryan said in November.

Note that not all SSDs are supported, you will need one that hits Sonys fairly strict requirements , such as the Western Digital SN850, Samsung 980 Pro, or the upcoming Sony-produced Nextorage M.2 NVMe SSD.

Should You Wait For The Ps5 Slim
That depends. If you are itching to play Sony games, then getting the PS5 base model makes perfect sense. You can even nab it at a slight discount when you purchase a bundle. That is, if you can find it in stock and in time.
However, if youve waited for this long, you can probably wait a year and a half more to get a smaller machine that works just as well.
I recommend saving up for the inevitable PS5 Pro. It will most likely launch at the same price as the base model and will have a lot more power. Even if you dont need that much power, by then, the base model would be selling at a steep discount.

Sony used a special press conference in March to detail the PS5’s specs.
The performance will be groundbreaking, Sony explained.
Soon there are games that could never have been created before, said Sonys Mark Cerny, lead architect of PS5.
The console features a 10.28 teraflop GPU clocked at 2.234GHz.
That’s fewer teraflops , than the Xbox Series X, which is promising 12 teraflops.
Fortunately, much of game loading comes down to RAM, or fast memory.
And the PS5 boasts 16GB of nippy GDDR6 memory just like the Xbox Series X.

Where To Buy Ps5 In The Us
For the US, we see consoles about once a month at major retailers but it still sells out in a matter of minutes at the likes of Amazon and Walmart – both of which just held a restock.
Still, here are the US stores that carry PS5 and Digital Edition consoles regularly. We update this list as soon as we get news of an upcoming restock with the announced time and date so you can be best prepared to bag a console.
Amazon: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition
PS5 stock pops up intermittently at Amazon about every one or two months, but each time it flies off the digital shelves in a matter of minutes. To combat this, it has completely changed how it handles PS5 restocks in the US. Right now, you can request an invitation to buy the PS5 console or Horizon Forbidden West bundle when it’s next available. Once it is in stock, you’ll have up to 72 hours to make use of your exclusive invite, but you aren’t guaranteed a console. You no longer have to be an Amazon Prime member to request an invite, though.
Walmart: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition
Walmart regularly has a PS5 restock every 4-6 weeks. Events normally take place between Tuesday-Thursday and they are usually announced ahead of time on the retailer’s website and in email updates. There is one caveat, though. The PS5 is only available for paid Walmart+ members, which costs $12.95 per month or $98 for a year.
