When Is The Ps5 Pro Coming Out

Don't Miss

Will The Ps5 Pro Controller Have Remappable Buttons

PS5 PRO is COMING!!

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 lets you configure all of the buttons to your liking so you can play a game exactly the way you want to. TryHardGames doesnt come out and say the PS5 Pro Controller would be customizable, only that itd have significant software upgrades. Itd be disappointing if thats not a reference to remappable buttons on the PS5 Pro Controller.

It makes sense that Sony would allow for more customization given that the PS5 DualSense can be used with other devices like PCs, smartphones, tablets, and Apple TV.

When Is The Ps5 Pro Release Date

Rumors about the PS5 Pro remain unconfirmed so there’s no release date window for the potential mid-generation update. But we can look back to past console releases to speculate when Sony might drop the PS5 Pro.

The base model PS4 was launched in November 2013 and the PS4 Pro was released three years later in November 2016. Looking even further back, the PS3 was released in November 2006 and the subsequent PS3 Slim was released three years later in September 2009. So the pattern here seems abundantly clear.

Sony has a track record of releasing a console update three years after it enters a new generation, which means the PS5 Pro could become a reality around late 2023 or early 2024.

Sony Ps5 Pro Roundup: Release Date Specifications And Pricing

Sony is gearing up for an upgraded version of the Sony PlayStation 5 launch to repeat the response it received with PS4 and PS4 Pro. The upcoming console dubbed PS5 Pro will have enhanced graphics and performance compared to its non-Pro variant. It is expected to get an 8K gaming experience as a major overhaul among others. Heres a roundup of everything you need to know about PS5 Pro including the specifications, pricing, availability, and release date.

What Could The Ps5 Pro Price Be

Looking back at the release of the PS4 and PS4 Pro might also hint at how Sony could price an eventual PS5 upgrade. The PS4 launched at $399 and the Pro model was released three years later with the same $399 price tag.

This time around, two PS5 models have launched: a $399 Digital Edition and the $499 Standard Edition. If Sony maintains its pricing strategy from the past generation then the Digital and Standard Editions of the PS5 Pro might launch at the same $399 and $499 price points.

Will We See More Stock Shortages With The Ps5 Pro

PS5 Vs PS4 Pro: Should You Upgrade?

We’ve all had a run of bad luck when it comes to tracking PS5 stock recently, largely due to chip shortages and the understandable impact of Covid on businesses around the world.

But can we be cautiously optimistic for the future? We’d say so, especially as Sony may well take steps to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.

We’ll have to wait and see!

Sony Ps5 Pro Pricing And Availability

According to 91Mobiles, the Sony PS5 Pro in India would be priced between INR 40,000 to 50,000/- in the country. This comes from the idea that the PS4 Pro arrived in India in 2017 at the same pricing as that PS4. A separate report mentions that the PS5 arrived at a base price of $499 so the PS5 Pro could potentially arrive at similar pricing as well.

Playstation 5 Price Vs Xbox Series X Price

So, how does the PS5 compare to the Xbox Series X on price? Better than many expected, as it happens.

The Xbox Series X and the full-fat PS5 are identically priced, at £449 / $500 / AU$749.

Both consoles also have a disc drive-less, cheaper sibling: that’s the Xbox Series S and the PS5 Digital Edition. This is where things get really interesting, because the Xbox Series S costs only £250 / $299,/ AU$499, whereas the PS5 Digital Edition is £360 / $400 / AU$599.

That’s a big step up, but it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Series X but the PS5 Digital Edition is identical to the standard PS5 except for the lack of a disc drive. In other words, the PS5 Digital Edition is more of a proper next-gen games console than the Xbox Series S.

Ps5 Pro Release Date And Price Reportedly Revealed

PS5 Pro & New Xbox Coming In 2023? | GameSpot News

According to a new report, Sony is already working on a PS5 Pro that will release sometime between late 2023 and late 2024 at a price point between $600 and $700. At the former price point, it would cost $200 more than the PS4 Pro and the same as the launch PS3. At the latter price point, it would be the most expensive PlayStation console to date, not taking inflation into account. And of course, the console will come packing technology and specs that warrant this price point, but at that price point, most won’t care how powerful or advanced it is.

The report comes the way of Moore’s Law Is Dead, who says they are 100 percent sure the PS5 Pro is in the works, and of the two aforementioned release windows, the former, 2023, is more likely. Details on the parts of the machine aren’t really divulged, but a new AMD SOC is mentioned and the possibility the machine would be used to market Sony’s 8K TVs, however, the latter is unlikely given the market for 8K TVs, which is unlikely to be vibrant anytime soon, and even by 2023 and 2024.

Below, you can find the report for yourself, which comes courtesy of Moore’s Law Is Dead and YouTube:

For now, take everything here with a grain of salt. Even if this all of this information is accurate — which is a big if — it’s all embryonic and subject to change. As for the source itself, they have proven reliable and reputable in the past, but this report is also laced with considerable speculation.

What Specs And Features Will We See In The Ps5 Pro

Again, theres no official word from Sony on specs, but the TCL leak we covered above did have some actual technical detailing as well. In the slide it presented, the company stated that it expected the next generation console to come with or rival an RX7700XT GPU. This is part of the Radeon RX 7000 series that is now expected to launch at the end of 2022.

Reports weve seen so far from the likes of TechPowerUp outline the RX 7700XT as including the Navi 33 GPU, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, 4096 shading units, 128-bit memory bus, and clock speeds of 1800MHz that can boost up to 2200MHz.

Its expected to support DirectX 12 Ultimate, with hardware-raytracing and variable rate shading capabilities. TCLs slide also claimed that the new hardware would be capable of rendering 2160p/120fps, with support for outputting at 8K/120fps.

This would mark a step forward in terms of graphical capabilities for the PS5 Pro, which is exactly what youd expect from the new model. Aside from these vague details though, were still in the dark about how Sony will approach the PS5 Pro, although it does seem more likely now that it will arrive in the next year or so. Whether TCL has the inside track on the PS5 Pro development plans or is just making an educated guess when it comes to the specs that a modern console will need in 2024, hopefully we wont have too long to wait to find out.

Should I Wait For A Ps5 Pro Or Just Buy A Ps5

Is There Going To Be A Black Version Of Ps5

Youll always get a better deal if you wait, thats just the nature of technology. However, the PS5 is an excellent console that has great games you can play right now. Yes, a PlayStation 5 Pro will be able to provide a better overall experience, but just think how much fun youll be missing out on by waiting?

Ps5 Pro Release Date Speculation

Now let’s state this early on. While we think it may be likely that we’ll see a PS5 Pro in the future, we’re not confirming that a PS5 Pro is 100% in the works and we’d advise you to wait until official confirmation from Sony themselves before getting your hopes up.

That being said, what we can do is speculate on when the console could arrive, if they do decide to go ahead with it, and we’re hard at work scouring all the rumours for anything that could give us a clue…

As of late news is fairly thin on the ground and rumours are therefore rife around the console. The only ‘pro’ version of something for PS5 has been the announcement of the DualSense Edge – the first Xbox Elite style controller for the console.

There have been some reports that appear to indicate that the PS5 Pro could release around 2023 or late 2024.

We think it would be closer to 2024, as there are also some rumours around the PSVR 2 releasing in Q1 2023, and for obvious reasons, we’d think Sony would like to let the PS5 Pro have its own spotlight.

The PS4 Pro was released 3 years after the standard model, which would align with the prediction, but how likely is this to be the case?

Well, according to other reports, factors such as pandemic delays and the risk of devaluing the base PS5 should be considered when thinking about just how viable a PS5 Pro release would be in such a relatively short time.

Features The Ps5 Pro Controller Might Have

While TryHardGuides wasnt able to share any images of the alleged prototype it saw, its more than likely any PS5 Pro Controller would resemble the current DualSense controller shape.

Per the report, the PS5 Pro Controller could have the following features:

  • Removable analog sticks
  • Removable grips

The removable analog sticks are perhaps the biggest alleged improvement. While not as widespread as Joy-Con drift on the Nintendo Switch , there are reports of stickdrift with DualSense controllers. YouTubers have shared fixes for DualSense stick drift by opening up their controllers and replacing the analog sticks, but what if you could do that without needing to grab any tools? That would be pretty neat. If a PS5 Pro Controller does come with removable analog sticks, though, itd more likely be for adjusting its height like on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller.

The other features like trigger stops, rear paddles, and removable grips are already found on Scufs Reflex controller which currently fills the role for a better-designed PS5 controller so it makes sense that Sony is thinking of including these features.

What Could The Ps5 Pro Specs Be

Sony 8K PS5 Pro coming

The Sony patent describes a console that would come with two graphical processing units, which would be a first for the in-home console history. Currently, the PS5 runs on a custom-made system-on-a-chip that integrates an AMD-made central processing unit with a GPU into a single piece of hardware. Sony’s SoC delivers a whopping 10.3 teraflops of graphical power and lightning-quick load times.

The alleged PS5 Pro patent suggests slapping two SoC inside of a console, which would in theory double the PS5’s power.

“Plural SoCs may be used to provide a ‘high-end’ version of the console with greater processing and storage capability,” reads the document.

Achieving this from an engineering standpoint might be easier said than done. The PS5 was specifically designed to cool and maintain a single SoC, adding another would also double the heat the console is capable of producing when it’s running at full throttle.

Early PS5 adopters are already complaining about noisy fans in certain units. Housing two SoCs could mean even more fans or an even larger console to ensure the PS5 Pro won’t overheat. But this is all speculation for now, Sony might figure out a way to make a more powerful, single SoC which would eliminate the need to add another to the PS5 Pro.

An upgraded PS5 is still nothing more than a pipe dream at the moment, but this Sony patent provided some insights into what the company could be plotting next.

The PS5 Pro is rumored to be in the works.

Despite shortages that saw the console disappear off shelves as fast as it could be replenished, the PlayStation 5 has had an excellent 2021. At the last count, 13.4 million PS5s have been sold, and it would undoubtedly have been more if supply could keep up with demand.

Whisper it, but that masks the fact that killer exclusives have been in almost equally short supply. Sure, there are plenty of must-play titles on our list of the best PS5 games, but most of them arent exclusive to the new hardware.
