Ps4 Vs Xbox One Price Comparison

Xbox One Vs PS4! Which is the Best Console?

The PS4 and Xbox One prices seem to change by the week, with price drops and bundle deals coming and going faster than handheld PlayStation systems. Add in special events, such as Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday, and dedicated storefront sales it can be hard to keep track.

While all of these bundles are great for consumers, it can be hard to keep up with the latest pricing info. So, in an effort to cut through the noise, here are the latest prices and bundles for each console.

While the original iterations of the Xbox One and PS4 launched in the same month, the console upgrades were more staggered, adding a little bit more confusion to the Xbox One vs PS4 question.

Simplifying matters slightly, though, Sony and Microsoft appear to be discontinuing their more powerful 4K-capable mid-gen upgrades, the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. This means that new stock can be really quite hard to come by and you might have to look for second hand consoles.

If you want to dial back the cost of either console, check out the latest prices for the Xbox One S and PS4 Slim.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Subscription Price

The price of the console is one thing, but the subscription price can often be a deal breaker. If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t really like multiplayer games, nor free games, then there’s no real need for you to subscribe to either Sony’s or Microsoft’s subscription services.

But if you’re like me, and crave playing with my friends whenever I get the time, then signing up to PS Plus or Xbox Live is a must. Below, we’ve made a handy table that’ll show you the price of each subscription service.

Subscription Services
Xbox Live Gold $9.99
Xbox Live Gold $24.99
Xbox Live Gold $59.99
PS Plus $59.99

Fortunately, there’s no difference when it comes to the subscription services of the Xbox One and the PS4. It once again, boils down to which console you regard with the most trust, or which console has the most exclusive games that you want to play. Which leads to our next category…

Will Any Gaming Headset Work With Xbox One

Yes, you can use regular headphones on Xbox one if you have a recent version of the Xbox One controller with 3.5mm jack. You can look for this jack in the bottom side of the controller and simply plug in your headphones through it. In case of wireless headphones, you can still use them with Xbox One without any issues.

Which Console Is The Better Value

Considering you can regularly find the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro priced around the same $350, youre getting more bang for your buck with the Xbox One X. Its more powerful than Sonys offerings and includes a 4K Blu-ray player. The Xbox One also has much better native backward compatibility than the PS4. So, with the purchase of an Xbox One, you can look forward to playing a plethora of original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles.

If youre looking at base model consoles, the Xbox One S also wins out over the PS4 Slim in value, again because of its inclusion of a 4K Blu-ray player.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One Controllers

PS4 vs Xbox One: Which current

Before we go into any major detail, check out the two controllers in all their splendour below:

Both bear the genetic material of their forebears, but the DualShock 4 feels like more of a change. Microsoft has stuck with what worked so well in the Xbox 360 controller, and as such the Xbox One pad is more of a tweak than a full redesign.

There are two main changes. The Xbox One pad has rumble motors built into the triggers to give greater feedback when, for example, shooting guns. But those rumble triggers easily make the Xbox One the better console to play racing games on sorry, DriveClub and Gran Turismo Sport.

Microsoft has also made huge improvements to the D-pad. The mushy Xbox 360 D-pad has been switched for one more clicky and responsive, and already works wonders on the likes of Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat X.

Sadly, the Xbox One controller still requires a pair of AA batteries as standard, rather than being rechargeable like the PS4s DualShock 4. Youll probably want to buy the Play and Charge kit separately for each controller for £19 a go.

However, if you do stick to AA batteries, youll definitely see your Xbox One controller pack a longer play time than the PS4 controller, which requires regular charging via micro-usb.

The DualShock 4s changes are more marked. Its chunkier than the previous DualShock controllers and a lot heavier too, giving a firmer feel than the last-gen DualShock 3 pad.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Connectivity

  • You can’t upgrade Xbox One’s internal hard drive, but you can on the PS4
  • Both consoles support the use of external hard drives
  • The Xbox One has more ports on its rear

Depending on how your gaming setup is organized, the connectivity of your console could be an extremely important detail.

Both the Xbox One S and X have identical ports, each including two HDMI ports, one for receiving an input from a cable or satellite box, and one that inputs to your TV. On top of those, theyve each got two USB-3 ports, IR outputs, optical audio out, Ethernet ports and, of course, the power cable which is compatible with both versions of the Xbox. However, due to the quick and tragic downfall of Kinect, if you want to use a Kinect with either version of the Xbox One youll have to go out and get an adapter.

The PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim have similar inputs, although they are slightly different. Each has a single HDMI out, a single USB port in the back , an Ethernet port, and power. The only difference between the Pro and the Slim is that the Pro has an Optical Audio out, while the Slim drops it. One of the most compelling things about the connectivity of the PS4, however, is that both versions allow users to swap out the internal hard drive with another one of their choice.

All versions of both the Xbox One and PS4 support 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet so no matter which console you decide on, you wont have to worry about network compatibility.

Bonus: The Last Of Us Remastered

The remastered version of The Last Of Us takes the single best game on the PS3 and makes it so much better. From 720p 30fps, it now runs on 1080p 60fps on the PS4. This alone makes the game so much smoother and better. Furthermore, the game also introduces focus mode which allows you to change filters and lighting. The game also includes the DLC prequel of the game. But for those who havent played the game, The Last Of Us is a Sony Exclusive and an amazing story-driven game with beautiful graphics.

The stage is set in a post-apocalyptic scenario with two characters- an adult and a child. The game has a well-written narrative, where with each passing moment, something new about the characters is revealed. The two characters are called Joel and Ellie, and as you play the game their relationship develops into a father-daughter one. The game has its emotional parts, but there is a lot of killing involved as well. It is really satisfying to stealthily kill your enemies.

Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox One X: Interface And Special Features

Xbox One vs PS4 Controller… WHICH IS THE BEST??

Both the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X have modern, snappy interfaces and menus that make it easy to navigate the consoles. We’re fans of the PlayStations minimalist, linear options, but we can understand why people might go for the Xboxs big, Windows 8-style tiles.

The Xbox Ones Snap function lets you use two separate programs at once, which is a nice addition, but the PlayStation 4 makes it easy to share your gameplay. The PS4 Pro also has Share Play, which lets you give control of your games to others for up to an hour, regardless of whether your friend owns the game.

The PS4 Pros DualShock 4 controller has a dedicated share button that lets you instantly capture screenshots and footage and share them to Facebook or Twitter or start a stream to Twitch or YouTube. Xbox players need to double-tap the Home button and select Options to record photo or video. On Xbox, you can only send screenshots to Twitter or stream to Twitch.

Both consoles have Remote Play options that let you play your games on other devices. Sony lets you stream PS4 games to PC, Mac, PlayStation Vita and certain Xperia-branded devices, while Xbox One makes it effortless to stream to Windows 10 computers or tablets.

Winner: PlayStation 4 Pro. The PS4 Pro makes it easier to share your game footage, photos and streams across more platforms than the Xbox One X.

The Best Ps4 And Xbox One Games

  • Both consoles have some great exclusive games.
  • Sony’s exclusives have tended to be third-person games, while Microsoft has seen a number of high-profile racing exclusives.
  • Microsoft is committed to cross-generation support

Both the PS4 and Xbox One now have substantial games libraries. The PS4 has just over 2,000, of which over 299 are PS4 exclusives, while the Xbox One has about nearly 2,000 games with less half the number of exclusives the PS4 has.

The Halo and Gears of War series stand above all others on Xbox One if you’re into shooter games, while Cuphead features some fantastic, colorful boss battle action and Sea of Thieves offers a high-seas multiplayer experience like no other. Halo: The Master Chief Collection lets us relive all the old classics, although the experience was somewhat spoiled by a number of technical problems that have never been fully solved.

But, its with its exclusive racing games that the Xbox One really excels, with the Forza Motorsport and Horizon titles being excellent entries in the series.

The Xbox platform also stands apart thanks to Xbox Game Pass. This subscription service gives players access to a rotating list of more than 100 games for a monthly fee and first-party Xbox games come to it on release day. One Xbox One game on the horizon that will arrive on the service is Halo Infinite, which is sure to be one of the best games on the Xbox One.

Playstation 4 Pro Vs Xbox One X: Vr

Here’s an easy one. The PlayStation 4 Pro can utilize the PlayStation VR headset. The $399 device is also compatible with the original PS4 and PS4 Slim, and it plays games such as Batman: Arkham VR and Resident Evil 7 in virtual reality.

The Xbox One X was originally announced as being VR capable, but it looks like Microsoft has shelved any plans to introduce VR support. It doesn’t even look like VR will be included in the next-gen Xbox Series X.

Winner: PlayStation 4 Pro. It’s the only option if you want to use VR on a console right now.

Which Is Better: Xbox One Or Playstation 4

This simple guide will help you pick the perfect console.

If youre in the market for a new gaming system and just joining this console generation, you might be a little lost. At this point, there have been three main models of the PlayStation 4, and four of the Xbox One. Knowing which version of the console to get is almost as hard as picking which brand you want to go with. Thats where we come in. Here, we break down the differences between the PS4 and Xbox One, and help you decide which model of each console is best for you.

Are Ps4 And Xbox One Backward Compatible

Best Gaming Console to Buy
  • Xbox One backwards compatibility list is growing.
  • PS4 offers backwards compatibility through PS Now streaming service.

The Xbox One vs PS4 comparison first got really interesting at E3 2015. After teasing Xbox 360 emulation, Microsoft announced Xbox One backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games. This was expanded to original Xbox games at E3 2017.

“We won’t charge you to play the games you already own,” jabbed Microsoft at Sony during its E3 press conference. Over 400 disc and downloadable Xbox 360 and Xbox titles will work on Xbox One, and the features of the newer console like streaming and taking screenshots crosses over to older games.

Microsoft launched Xbox One backward compatibility in November 2015, and a recent update saw its functionality expanded to include multi-disc games. Since then, the manufacturer has continued to bring more and more games to the console.

Microsoft’s game subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, has allowed subscribers to delve into hundreds of Xbox games from past and present, bringing a large number of Xbox titles to one platform as well as some EA titles and Bethesda titles.

Sony’s PlayStation Now service, like Game Pass, is a game subscription service that, in exchange for a flat monthly fee, gives you access to a library to hundreds of games. In terms of quantity of games, it wins out but Xbox has the edge when it comes to quality as Xbox puts its latest releases on Game Pass on day one, which PlayStation doesn’t with PS Now.

Many people are looking to buy a game console that the whole family can enjoy. The question which console is more kid friendly is often asked by parents that want to keep their kids entertained as well as themselves. In this article, we will look at which of these popular gaming consoles is the most suitable for children.

It is important to define what we mean by children here. Both of these game consoles are suitable for children from 6 years of age and upwards. If you have younger children than this then there are other alternatives available.

One of the most important aspects of assessing if the Xbox One or PS4 is more kid friendly is the number of child friendly games that are available for each console. The truth is that both of these consoles have a wide range of kid friendly games so whichever one you chose you should be fine.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2! Well, this is one of those titles that took forever to come out. Was it worth the hype? Absolutely. I personally waited for years after playing the original Red Dead Redemption, and I must say that I enjoyed every bit of this game. You can read my review of the game right here.

With Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games has narrated a beautiful story leading up the events of the original game. Youll play a cowboy from the west and see how he survives a cold war with his peers. Besides the story itself, the game has a lot to offer. Its a typical open-world title from Rockstar Games, so if youve ever played any of the Rockstar Games titles before then youll know what to expect.

Resident Evil : Biohazard

Resident Evil 7 is another game in the horror adventure series Resident Evil. It takes a first-person shooter approach, and this new angle and setting help Biohazard to stand out as one of the scariest game in this series. The game has a strong setting, thanks to the Dulvie Plantation. It also has a decent storyline, which we cant say much about because of spoilers.

But what we can tell you is that apart from the shooting, there are puzzles and mazes which you need to go through, and find solutions to. The Baker family contributes to the story, and are one of the first enemies you will face. Each member has a personality, which makes killing them even more interesting. The gameplay focuses on tense actions and your ability to adapt to these situations, and thus makes for an amazing horror game.

ROCKET LEAGUE BEST CONTROLLER XBOX One Vs PS4 | The ULTIMATE Controller Guide!

While both consoles certainly offer a lot, we have to give an edge to the PlayStation 4. The Xbox One is better for non-gaming applications and content, but if thats what you care most about, you can get those features in a Roku, Apple TV, or any number of other dedicated devices that will stream content for a fraction of the price. If youre buying a PS4 or Xbox One, you want to play games, and in this case, Sony has built a better gaming machine.

PS4:

Sony has also shown stronger support for independent developers so far, and both the current and future game lineups look better for PS4 than for Xbox One, even with the release of the PS5. Most AAA games these days are released for both consoles, sure, but the PS4s list of exclusives easily trumps the Xboxs. That said, if youre looking for a future-proof purchase, consider the PS5 or Xbox Series X.
