Pro Ps: Shopping On Psn Is A Way Better Experience Than On Xbox

Why Xbox One is Better than Ps4

Browsing PSN is like being a kid in a candy store. Trying to find a game on Xbox is like being swept away in a current of marketing and bad design. On PlayStation, once youve entered the store, everything you need is right there: free PS+ games, whats new, and games on sale. You never need to leave the store to find anything. With Xbox, youre always being ushered to the next product, which is whatever being promoted today. PlayStation also has a bevy of simple features weve come to expect when shopping online. PSN has a cart system and a wishlist features bizarrely absent from the Xbox Marketplace. Microsoft created the digital marketplace on consoles but somehow lost touch with how people like to shop. Hopefully, they get their act together sooner than later.

Ps4 Gets Dlc Content Before Xbox

If youre the type of gamer who is impatient and doesnt like to wait for DLC content to be released to unlock other parts of your game then you should definitely go with a PS4 over an Xbox One.

This is because Sony has signed contracts with some of the biggest gaming companies out there so, therefore, this DLC content will be available for PS4 users before anyone else.

Personally, for me, this is a pretty big selling point as well because I always get excited whenever I hear that they are getting ready to drop some brand new DLC content for my favorite gaming series.

If DLC doesnt play that huge of a role when making a purchasing decision on which console youre going to buy next then thats cool, but for me, this is a pretty big issue.

Better: Early Access Gets The Worm

One of the biggest trends to hit gaming in the past few years is Steams Early Access program. You essentially buy a game before release and can play it to your hearts content while the developers tweak and add stuff.

Last years biggest trend was PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds, or PUBG for short.

It started out in Early Access back in March and officially launched on Steam in a 1.0 status in December. Along with it came an Early Access version on Xbox One, but their system is called the Preview Program, but it ultimately works the same. There are other games on there too like We Happy Few and Conan Exiles. Personally Im not a fan of either service, but it is a nice program for those interested and something they have over Sony.

Pro Xbox One: Getting A Free Windows Pc Version Included With Your Xbox Game Is A Dream Come True

We always like to imagine a no-compromises gaming experience. Its this magical idea: that you could pop in a game and play it wherever you want. Nintendo even went as far as building their entire system around this hypothetical situation. Well, Microsoft is betting that if you own a Xbox One or a gaming PC , you might run into a scenario where its easier to play your game across more than one device. So why limit players? If you buy a first-party Microsoft game digitally, you get both an Xbox One and Windows PC copy. The best part? Third-party developers are starting to jump onboard. Suddenly you arent tethered to one box to enjoy your games its nice.

Michael Harradence / October 20, 2020

Is PS4 better than Xbox? Well, do you remember Harry Hills TV Burp? Worse: Denying The Future Of Game

Another peripheral that is missing from the Xbox One is a VR headset. I thought one of the big things theyd showcase with the Xbox One X at E3 was some kind of VR support. It didnt have to be a first party thing like an Xbox official headset either. I was sure theyd partner up with the Oculus Rift, or HTC Vive. I mean they boasted so much about it being the most powerful console that I thought it was inevitable. On that same point they have also been doing a lot of cross compatible talk regarding the PC too as I already mentioned. What better way to showcase that then with a partnership with one of those two aforementioned companies? Why deny the future of gaming on your console?

Pro Ps: There Are More Indie Games On Playstation

Why PS4 is better than XBOX ONE (Outdated)

Plain and simple: there are more meaningful indie games on PlayStation 4. Thats not to say that Xbox One doesnt have a great library of indie titles they do but PS4 has way more. Transistor, Everybodys Gone to the Rapture, Bound, SOMA, the list goes on. These are utterly fantastic games and a huge part of the fabric of the industry today. Its downright disappointing that gamers without a Windows PC or PS4 cant play them. There are a few reasons this happens, for starters Sony is privately funding a lot of these games. Titles like Journey or The Unfinished Swan simply wouldnt exist without Sony putting their money down. The other, maybe bigger issue, is that there are more PS4s sold-to-date, so smaller developers are fiscally forced to develop for PlayStation 4 first and foremost. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy.

More Ways Ps4 Is Better Than Xbox One

Both the PS4 and Xbox One have a lot going for them. Theyre state-of-the-art gaming consoles that are capable of powering some of the best-looking games ever created. The only way to play games that look better than what youll find on these $350 boxes is to spend far more money on a high-end PC.

While the PS4 could be improved by borrowing some ideas from Xbox One, it has a few advantages of its own, making it arguable that the PS4 is better than Xbox One. Weve already gone over a few of the reasons in an article on features Xbox One should steal from PS4, but here are a few more ways the PS4 is better than Xbox One.

So Which Is The Better Console

The PS4 vs. Xbox One debate really comes down to whether you care about exclusives or not. There are a ton of amazing games on PS4 that you cant play on Xbox One. On the other hand, many of the best Xbox One exclusives are also available on PC.

If youre looking to experience all the best games this generation has to offer, the PlayStation 4 Pro is the best console to purchase. But if youre not interested in exclusive titles and just want the most value out of your console, the Xbox One S or Xbox One X is likely the machine for you.

Pro Xbox One: The Xbox One Is A Bastion Of Apps

For Microsoft, this is the big picture. The company wants your Xbox to be a beacon for you to connect with a whole world of content through the Xbox not just games. Theres no doubt Sony would love to be the same thing, but Sony doesnt have an entire ecosystem of products and services theyre filtering through the PlayStation. Windows 10, on the other hand, comes with an Xbox application pre-installed. In Microsofts vision, Xbox should be your home away from your computer, a way to connect to your PC when youre not in front of it. That means apps of all shapes and sizes, made by small developers and big ones alike. Already there are Xbox apps for Reddit, radio, torrenting, etc. Thats on top of basics like YouTube and Netflix.

Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox Series S: Which Should You Buy

Why PS4 is Better Than Xbox One!

The PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox Series S are both consoles that are interesting for the public that plans to buy new video games. Sonys model offers the best possible experience for PS4 fans but has a high price in the domestic market, around $409.77. Microsofts option is cheaper and can be found for $369.99, being a less powerful alternative to the Xbox Series X. Techidence produced a comparison to help you choose which is the best product based on your profile as a gamer.

Which Is Better Ps4 Or Xbox Backwards Compatibility Winner Xbox One

While the PS4 can play digital versions of PS2 games from PSN and emulate PS1 and PS3 games through its PlayStation Now service, its a far cry from what Microsoft has been able to do with the Xbox One.

Not only is the Xbox One backwards compatible with Xbox 360 games from the previous generation , but Microsofts console can also play games from the very first Xbox, too. Add in 4K and frame rate enhancements for Xbox 360 and original Xbox games played through the Xbox One X console and Microsoft clearly wins in this area. Sony for its part though, looks to be making some changes in this area.

Is The Ps4 Or Xbox One More Powerful

Setting aside software, the PS4 and Xbox One are two very similar machines. The base model of the PS4 edges out the performance of the Xbox One in most cases, but when you look at the two companys pro line of consoles, the opposite is true. The Xbox One X is the most powerful console available right now and offers true 4K video with some titles. The PlayStation 4 Pro, meanwhile, only offers 2K upscaled to 4K via checkerboarding.

Compared to the PS4, the PS4 Pro is a more modest update. The Xbox One X, on the other hand, is much more capable than the base Xbox One and includes capabilities like FreeSync support that Sony doesnt match. Furthermore, Sony inexplicably passed on including a 4K Blu-ray player on the PS4 Pro, but the Xbox One X includes one, which gives the console some hidden value.

Getting into technical specs, both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X have AMD Jaguar octa-core CPUs. However, the Xbox One X is clocked at 2.3GHz, versus the PS4 Pro at 2.1GHz. The Xbox One X has a faster GPU with more compute units than the PS4 Pro, and it also has more RAM at 12GB vs. 8GB.

If your main concern when choosing between Sony and Microsoft is which console is the most powerful, then the Xbox One X is the machine for you. Additionally, if youre not really interested in any of Sonys exclusive titles, the Xbox One X is a better value than the PS4 Pro.

Sony Puts A Lot Of Trust With Its First Party Developers Xbox Does Not

Sony puts a huge amount of faith with its first-party developers and they are justly rewarded for these efforts. This is perfectly demonstrated by one of the best games of this generation Horizon Zero Dawn. Check out a review of the game below.

The games developers Gorilla were only known for Killzone and whilst not a poor franchise by any means it was a standard FPS but when Sony got approached by the developers it was a massive risk thinking an FPS developer could produce a complicated post-apocalyptic open-world story-driven game but evidently Gorilla succeded and Sony were rewarded.

Similar story to Sony being approached by Cory Barlog the creative director at SIE Santa Monica Studio of revamping God Of War a series that fell off in the previous direction. He proposed a completely revamped over the shoulder camera angle and a father-son story and I can tell you Im playing the game now and it is absolutely fantastic and of the best action games, I have ever played.

Even more impressive is the time Sony gives to certain exclusives, the perfect example is the game dreams media molecule from the creators of Little Big Planet that was announced with the PS4 is 2013.

As or writing this game hasnt even been released yet and has gone through several game redesigns. However, Sony still choosing to persist with the developer even amongst all this time and changes speak volumes on the excellent relationship Sony has with its first-party developers.

Which Is Better Ps4 Or Xbox Hard Drive Winner Ps4

The boys and girls at Sony have a clear advantage in this area, as the PS4 allows users to upgrade their internal hard drive if required with ease, whereas on Xbox One its a massive pain to do this .

Both systems support the use of external hard drives, but its definitely a bonus for PS4 owners that youre able to swap out the internal drive if you want to pretty easily.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One S: Graphics Comparison

  • Games on the original PS4 tend to run at higher resolutions than their Xbox One S counterparts.

While the Xbox One X appears to have the edge over the PS4 Pro, it’s a different story when it comes to the Xbox One S and PS4.

A gameplay video on YouTube of GTA 5 pans between the two next-gen versions of the game with a definitive answer. The base PS4 GPU is able to handle more foliage in environments than the base Xbox One.

Yes, you literally have to get into the weeds to see the differences, though both the PS4 and Xbox editions of GTA 5 look stellar compared to their last-gen counterparts.

In the Metal Gear Solid 5 comparison, there’s slightly more clarity to the PS4 version. Specifically, distant textures and moving objects appear softer among the otherwise identical Xbox One visuals.

It’s a trend we’re seeing from PS4 games that achieve a 1080p resolution at 30 or 60 frames per second, when their Xbox One counterparts run at 720p or 900p at 30 or 60 fps.

This is a trend that’s continuing today, with video analysis, such as the one below, indicating that Battlefield 1 runs at a consistently higher resolution on the PS4 than the Xbox One, with both consoles hitting the same variable 60 fps frame rate.

It’s a similar story when it comes to Titanfall 2, which likewise runs at a lower resolution on the Xbox One.

Overall, the PS4 appears to have the edge on the Xbox One, but both are left in the dust by their more powerful younger siblings.

More Better Exclusive Games

While the Xbox One has Halo 5 and Gears of War 4, Sonys lineup is filled with exclusive titles, including Nioh, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Uncharted: Lost Legacy and NieR Automata. Not enough? Were looking forward to Insomniac Games Spider-Man project, Detroit: Beyond Human, God of War 4, Death Stranding, Days Gone and The Last of Us: Part 2, which are in development exclusively for the PS4.
