Ratchet & Clank 2016 PS4 Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 – Playstation 4 Let’s Play

This fourth and final installment in the game’s Future series was made exclusively for the PlayStation 3. It saw the return of player-favorite characters like Zephyr, Cronk and the Plumber. Set in a period after the events of A Crack in Time, the game’s plot follows the journey of our two Polaris Defense Force members as they attempt to recapture Vendra Prog, the criminal who escaped their custody at the beginning of the game’s story. The title is easy to complete, requiring about five hours for its entire storyline to be covered. As is the case with other Ratchet & Clank games, weaponry and firepower remain chaotic although the humor from its characters takes a somewhat dark undertone.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man Of Medan

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty

We know what you are thinking and yes, there are two Ratchet & Clank games on this list. Quest for Booty was developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3 in 2008. Being the second game in the Future series, it picks off from where Tools of Destruction ended. Following the game’s story, we find the inseparable duo of Ratchet and Clank apart in this game as Clank is kidnapped by the Zoni. Players must wade through the game levels, playing as Ratchet to recover Clank and even at the most leisurely of speeds, the game’s objectives can be achieved in three to four hours.

Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal

Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal is most notable for being the first Ratchet & Clank game to feature online multiplayer . The game is the biggest and best-looking game of the series original trilogy and very highly rated by critics and fans.

Physical copies of the PS2 version can be easily obtained via online shopping platforms.

The PS2 version is also playable on a PS3 via backwards compatibility if you have a fat model PS3.

Ratchet & Clank Collection contains a remastered version of Up Your Arsenal for PS3 and Vita. Again, its a buggy bundle, so you might want to consider other options first.

PS2 version Physical

Deadlocked is the last mainline Ratchet and Clank game released for the PS2. In a series first, Clank is not a playable character. Deadlockeds darker tone and the shift toward more combat-focused gameplay resulted in some backlash from fans of the bright atmosphere and traditional platforming of its predecessors, but the game is still considered a solid addition to the franchise.

If you have a PS2, you can find plenty of physical copies of the game online. The PS2 version of Deadlocked is also playable on a fat PS3 via backwards compatibility. Online servers for the PS2 version were shut down in 2012.

A HD remaster of Deadlocked was released on the Playstation Network and made available for free to those who purchased Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault on the PS3. Online servers for the HD remaster were deactivated in 2018.

Why Ratchet And Clank Deserve Another Game

The beloved duo of Ratchet and Clark are more than deserving of another outing, and here’s why…

Back in 2016, Ratchet and Clank made their triumphant debut on PS4. Scratching the platforming itch of long-time fans and scooping up heaps of new players, the latest in the long line of the loveable Lombaxs adventures went on to become the studios bestseller.

However, its no secret that as of late, sneaky Spidey has snatched that very same crown and left Insomniac Games with a severe case of tunnel vision in the process. With the companys latest masterpiece, Spider-Man PS4, web-zipping its way to groundbreaking success, it comes as no real surprise that the iconic space duo has taken a backseat.

Its a shame things have been so quiet on the Ratchet & Clank front. So, lets get to exploring exactly why two of PS2s most esteemed stars are worthy of another opportunity to shine on PS4

How Long Is The Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Playtime

Though the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart playtime will vary slightly depending on the person, the average time itâll take you to finish is around 13 hours on the normal difficulty mode. Keep in mind, this figure is only accurate if you make your way through the main story without going out of your way to complete side activities.

The other thing to consider is the difficulty you choose. Rift Apart has four difficulties including Rookie Recruit, Rebel Agent, Resistance Leader, and Renegade Legend. Youâll likely get close to the 13-hour mark if you play on Rebel Agent, which is the normal difficulty mode. Expect it to take more time to finish if youâre on harder difficulties like Renegade Legend.

Players who explore more, gather collectibles, and complete side activities should plan to spend around 15-16 hours with Rift Apart. If you only want to get the coveted Platinum trophy in this game, you can most certainly finish it faster, especially if you skip cutscenes and play on the easiest difficulty. A fast Platinum run should take you around 10 hours if youâre following a guide and ignoring any optional activities .

By comparison to the other games in the series, Rift Apart is one of the longer entries, with the exception of Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, which might take you around 14 hours to get through.

Is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Coming To Ps4

While 2016’s Ratchet & Clank found massive success on PS4, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was designed from the ground up to be a PS5 exclusive, and will not be coming to PS4.

Rift Apart takes full advantage of the PS5’s powerful SSD to render entire worlds in the blink of an eye, a feat of technical prowess not possible on the PS4’s HDD.

As Rift Apart concerns itself with multiple dimensions, and gameplay features Ratchet & Clank literally jumping through portals into wholly new world mid-combat, the experience on PS4 would be vastly different, and inferior.

Could you imagine needing to sit through a load screen, mid-combat, perhaps multiple times in specific encounters? It just wouldn’t work and wasn’t a part of Insomniac’s vision of the game.

While some other first-party titles announced for PS5 will also be releasing for the PS4, like Horizon: Forbidden West and the next God of War, Ratchet & Clank specifically takes advantage of the PS5 hardware in ways that the PS4 couldn’t hope to replicate.

While this may be disappointing news to some, Sony does have to find ways to entice players over to their next-generation console, don’t they?

Ratcher & Clank: More Upgrades More Armor More Weapons

Ratchet And Clank (PS4) Platinum Walkthrough Part 7- Check Description!

For those going for the 100% completion trophy, or those who simply want to explore more of the brilliantly crafted worlds for all they have, a plethora of rewards lie in wait to help them as they venture out into the dozens of worlds and their alternate dimensional counterparts. While some are still out exploring, reports at HowLongToBeat suggest the game will take 15.5 hours or more to complete everything there is. PushSquare also laid out similar expectations of around 15 hours to beat 100% of the game. Exploring the game world will significantly increase the variety of gunplay because the more Raritanium gathered results in better perks becoming available within gun skill trees. The upgrades for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s vast number of weapons can change how each handles as players get to later levels, and it makes combat even more satisfying and dynamic. Armor bonuses can also grant perks like extra Raritanium, increased melee damage, and more bolts, all of which can greatly help those who intend to seek them out.

Deja Vu All Over Again

Ratchet & Clank was a soft reboot of sorts, a retread of the original 2002 game that was well-received. It reinvigorated the traditional Ratchet & Clank formula of over the top weaponry and ingenious platforming, bringing the series up to speed with the more modern spin on platforming.

The remastered medley of planets from the Solana Galaxy was brought to life with an eccentric vibrancy that cut the game well above its forebears. Pokitaru felt like a tropical getaway from the comfort of your own home, so breathtaking it insisted you stop and admire your surroundings with a contented sigh. Reworked and polished controls also stopped frustrating clumsiness from setting in. Everything from traversing the series trademark platforming puzzles to pouring an endless stream of menacing rockets from your newly attained R.Y.N.O felt fluid, joyously smooth, and generally very enjoyable. It managed to amount to far more than a simple, spruced up version of the PS2 classic.

A refreshing sense of nuance befell a familiar tale as the original storyboard was altered to reconcile the spanning eras of Ratchet & Clank, both existing and newfound. The final product was a touching celebratory title that offered a warm welcome to newcomers while leaving returning fans with more than just a nostalgic lump in their throats. This was mostly down to the simultaneous movie release that did way more than just tamper with the original story arc.
