How Specs Impact The Ps5 Price
Hoping for a slightly lower PS5 price? We hear you. However, it’s actually fair value when you break everything down. If we were to build the PS5 from components that are on the market right now, it’d be much, much more expensive.
Let’s look at the GPU first. Right now, you’d be staring down the barrel of an RTX 2080 equivalent graphics card to handle ray tracing at any kind of decent frame rate or resolution. To produce ray tracing at 4K – before we even get to the 8K Sony has promised – you’d need a powerful chip like a Radeon VII, or whatever the Navi equivalent will be inside the PS5. Want it to hit 30 frames per-second and medium-high settings? You’d be looking at $800 / £600+ at a minimum.
Now, onto that SSD. If you go bargain hunting right this second, you’ll pay $350 / £300-ish for a 1TB NVMe SSD from the likes of Samsung. Yes, you can go cheaper, but Sony is claiming that the PS5’s SSD will outperform all current PC SSDs. As such, $350 / £300 or more is about right.
With that in mind, we’re already looking at $1,000 / £1,000+ build. And that’s before you take other parts into account. We assume 32GB of RAM at a minimum, a Ryzen 7 equivalent CPU with 8 cores , and all the cooling, power, wireless tech, and casing required to keep everything together. That’s another $500 – $800 / £400 – £700 at least.

Ps5 Restock Tracker: Walmart To Have Consoles At 3 Pm Et Today
For the third time this week, Walmart has what you need.
Walmart offered back-to-back PS5 restock events on Monday and Tuesday, and now there’s a third PS5 restock happening in just a few hours. Both the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition will be available to buy at 12 p.m. PT .
If you’ve never tried to buy a PS5 from Walmart before, be warned the restocks tend to happen in waves. The buy button tends to reappear every 10 minutes to make sure more people have a chance to complete a purchase. So if you get there and see there’s no stock available, keep refreshing for a few minutes and your next chance will likely appear.
The one regular retailer we didn’t see a PS5 restock from recently was PlayStation Direct, so it’s likely we’ll see emails from Sony for a PS5 restock soon. Major retailers like Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target and Best Buy don’t usually give much notice ahead of a restock. Sometimes they’ll have a restock in the morning, other times in the afternoon and in some cases, even in the middle of the night. Here are some tips to help you get the jump on the competition.
First tip: Don’t wait until you see an alert for a PS5 inventory drop. Check the links at major retailers for stock updates daily or even multiple times a day. If you do happen upon some PS5 availability, go all-in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desktop, for example, open the retailer’s page in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Then do the same on your phone and tablet. The more devices and browsers, the better. It’s like with lottery tickets: The more you have, the better your chances of winning.
Second tip: Create accounts at the different retailers and make sure you’re already logged in if you’re going to try to get a PS5. Make sure all your shipping, bill and payment info is updated on whatever device you can buy from, whether it’s a laptop, desktop or phone. This makes checking out a lot faster, which is crucial as retailers’ sites get quickly bogged down, leading to people losing their chance of securing a PS5.

Where To Buy Ps5
The PS5 has officially hit the shelves but stock is still in extremelyshort supply. Frustrating though that is, Sony has confirmed that more PS5 consoles are on the way. You’ll need to be logged in to your retailer of choice and be prepared to hit that refresh button competition is fierce to say the least.
What About Ps5 Bundles And Deals
We’ve only seen one official PS5 bundle and that was with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and that was limited to a release in the UK and EU only with no sign of it in the US. This didn’t offer any sort of discount though, so it’s not like anyone was missing out.
Other PS5 bundles created by retailers have appeared. Usually with extra games, controllers, and other accessories. However, we don’t really recall seeing many offering any sort of discount – you’d easily be able to buy the extra items for less individually elsewhere. These bundles are essentially taking advantage of the huge demand for stock and getting even more money from a sale. Some retailers have even bundled the PS5 with more bizarre items like PC monitors, often at what are clearly inflated prices for often very average pieces of tech. Sadly, even these deals are still selling out.
Suffice to say, retailers have been very busy over the last few months. And after everything we’ve seen recently, there’s more than enough reason to consider picking up the PS5. For starters, all the upcoming PS5 games are shaping up to be something special. Secondly, the system’s blindingly fast loading times improve the user experience by leaps and bounds even on older PS4 games.

Playstation 5 Price: Game Bundles
We’re already seeing retailers start to bundle the PS5 with the most popular titles, including FIFA 21, Marvels Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty. Just don’t expect the first bundles to be cheaper than buying a PS5 and a copy of the game separately demand is so high that retailers are unlikely to offer discounts at this stage.
Beyond games, we’re also seeing the PS5 bundled with other treats and temptations. On the hardware side, there are a a few options to purchase your PS5 with one of the official PS5 accessories such as the DualSense Controller. Sadly the Pulse 3D headset is currently sold out almost everywhere, so there’s no little chance of seeing that in bundle. . On the software side, we may start to see subscriptions to PlayStation Plus. As ever, more details as we get them.
Games aside, the PS5 will act as an entertainment hub. Sony has revealed it will come with Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV, Spotify, Twitch and YouTube from day one. But, as we recently reported, the PS5 appears to lack both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

I didnt weed out any open-box or used consoles to get to these numbers, and you can easily see how strong the PS5s demand is in particular: even the PS5 Digital Edition is worth nearly as much as the disc version that retails for $100 more.
While scanning through, I also saw that including extra games, controllers or accessories isn’t even necessary: sometimes it was enough to justify an extra $100 or $200, but a PS5 didnt need one to rake in $1K or more. All this means unless the situation changes drastically, the scalping isnt going to stop anytime soon.
If theres a bright spot for would-be console buyers, its that not every PS5 and Xbox listed on eBay is actually selling, even if quite a few are. In terms of volume, the PS5 and new Xboxes each moved around 1,000 units on eBay on December 3rd alone, but some $1,000 PS5 and $850 Xbox Series X listings ran out the clock without getting sold.
On the PC side of things, the new Nvidia and AMD graphics cards appear to be in incredibly short supply judging by eBay listings, though. Almost every single card I saw found a buyer, save the most exorbitantly priced RTX 3090s and even there, there were a handful of $2,400 and $2,500 sales for whats nominally a $1,500 GPU.
The shortages feel very real: maybe a hundred RTX 3080 cards changed hands on December 3rd, even fewer RTX 3070 cards, and only 27 of the new AMD cards trickled down to eBay buyers that day.

When all the peripherals, games, and near-essential extras are taken into account youll be looking at parting with at least $944/£874 for the PS5 Digital Edition, and up to $1,044/£964 for the standard PS5. Thats quite a large amount of money for a gaming machine thats locked into a single ecosystem.
For that amount of money, you can build a decent gaming PC, though youll need to shop around. And PC games are considerably cheaper, with PC gaming offering an enormous amount to play from cutting-edge titles to obscure indie creations to games from decades ago.
But if you want to game at 4K, or at least at dynamic resolutions that scale up to 4K, youll need to spend a fair bit more on a gaming PC. So despite our calculations, the PS5 is still surprisingly good value.
Of course, getting a PS5 right now is extremely difficult as the console has been selling out across the globe. But wait until 2021 when the demand has evened out a bit and you could land yourself a bargain bundle, as well as have a larger selection of games to choose from we believe 2021 is going to be the year of the PS5.
