Mobile App ‘switchbuddy’ Makes Moving Switch Screenshots To Your Phone Easier
Update : SwitchBuddy has now been updated to version 1.6.0 and allows users to view their transferred screenshots in a brand new Gallery.

With version 1.6.0, gamers can view their transferred screenshots in a brand new Gallery. Screenshots are grouped by game and sorted by date for an optimal viewing experience.
There is a full-screen image viewer with zoom and fluid gestured. Screenshots can be shared via native Share Sheet by the “tap and hold” gesture on the miniatures in the Gallery.
Together with the Gallery, new version brings third export option to the app. In-app storage acts as a source for the Gallery and exported files are also available via iOS Files app for easy backup or other actions.
More minor new features include a new “Issues” screen to help troubleshoot connection to Switch and an email support option.
The last new feature is aimed at gamers playing in docked mode. With new viewfinder zoom , it is now possible to comfortably scan the QR code for connection without getting up and getting close to the TV.
It’s fine it works but the process could be smoother, which is where SwitchBuddy comes in. Developed by Filip Nmeek, this mobile app has been around for a while now and aims to make the transfer a little less painful by essentially streamlining the laborious ‘Save to Camera Roll’ bit.

Fingers crossed this beta will prove successful and Sony will roll it out. You can share your screenshots and videos to mobile, but it is a complete pain to do so in its current form. Thankfully, Sony appears to be improving the PlayStation app and is working hard to make the whole PlayStation ecosystem more conversant with other technology.

How To Move Multiple Ps5 Screenshots To Your Pc
1. To move multiple screenshots from your PS5 to your PC in one go, follow steps 1 to 4 as described above, until you reach the Media Gallery screen.

How To Use The Ps5 Create Button To Take Screenshots
Simply pressing the create button to the left of your DualSense’s touchpad will activate it. You can customise it if you go into Settings> Captures and Broadcasts> Captures. Here you can change your shortcuts so that actually taking a screenshot is a quick and easy process. I’ve set mine up so that one press takes a screenshot, two presses records video, and a long press brings up the create controls.
Here, you can adjust how long you want each video clip to be and can also disable the annoying popup that confirms when you’ve taken a screenshot – it’s a pain when you want to take multiple ones in quick succession and there’s a big icon in the corner ruining your photos. You can also change your preferred file format for the pictures and videos.

Sharing Screenshots And Gameplay Videos Via Playstation Parties
To share your screenshots to your phone using PlayStation Parties, you’ll need:
- A PS5
- A mobile device such as a smartphone or a tablet
- The PlayStation app
- An internet connection on your PS5 and your mobile device.
1. Locate the Screenshot or Video You’d Like to Share on Your PS5
The quickest and easiest way to find your PlayStation 5 Gallery and, therefore, the screenshot you’d like to share, is by tapping the Create button on your DualSense controller.
This will bring up the Create menu and the bottom-left of the Create pop-up should hold your most recent screenshot. Highlight it with the cursor, and tap X. This will open the image menu and with it the option . You can cycle through all your captured media with the L1 and R1 trigger buttons.
Alternatively, if you’d rather search in a grid view rather than a carousel, select Go to Media Gallery. This opens your screenshot and video collection. In here, you can find the screenshot or video you want to share with your phone.
You can also find your screenshot by going to Game Library > Installed. If you scroll to the bottom of the list of installed games, you’ll see Media Library. Select that with the X button and you’re in.
2. Share the Photo With a Party
Now that you’ve found your screenshot or video, highlight it with the cursor and, again, press X. This will bring up another menu, in which you will see the option. Highlight that and select it with the X button.
3. Find the Screenshot/Video on Your Mobile Device

While you’re playing a game, take a screenshot. Your PS5 will alert you that this will be automatically uploaded and viewable in the PS App.
To confirm, visit the Media Gallery on your console. Here, any screenshots or videos uploaded and viewable in the PS App will feature a smart device icon in the top right corner. On the PS App, visit the Game Library and select Captures. You should see your new screenshots and clips in this section, divided by game.
