Ps4 Players Without Ps Plus Can Play Red Dead Online For Limited Time

After over six months in open beta, Red Dead Online is finally leaving its beta phase and rolling out a huge new update. This week, Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online mode is getting pumped up with new co-op story missions, Free Roam missions that feature new characters from the main game, new Posse Versus Challenges with activities like fishing and shooting, a new hostility system, poker games that seat up to six players, various gameplay improvements, and more.
To celebrate the occasion, Rockstar Games is making Red Dead Online available to all PS4 players, including those who aren’t subscribed to PlayStation Plus, as part of a special bonus period. From now through May 27, anyone who owns Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 can dive into its online multiplayer mode. With all the new additions and improvements, there’s no better time to see what Red Dead Online is all about.

If you want to keep playing Red Dead Online past May 27, PlayStation is temporarily lowering the price of PS Plus for Red Dead Redemption 2 owners in the US. The 12-month subscription is being offered for $48 , while the three-month plan is available for $21 plus, you’ll receive 10 Gold Bars per month while your subscription lasts. This offer ends June 3 and must be purchased within Red Dead Redemption 2. The subscription will auto-renew at full price unless you cancel.
How Do I Cross
You cannot cross-play in Red Dead Redemption 2. Because it does not support cross-platform. You can play this game with the other player or friend on the same platform. Or else, you have two options that can support Red Dead Redemption 2 cross-platform on PS4 and PS5, and on the platforms Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Create Your Own Character
As a separate experience from the main adventure, you wont play as Arthur Morgan. Instead, when you first hop online, youll create your own outlaw. Using the robust customization features, you can fiddle with your abilities to create an outlaw that plays to your strengths. After creating your character, youll land at the Sisika Penitentiary, a landmark on the eastern edge of the map. Youll set up your camp, grab a horse, and search for a treasure.
What you do from there is largely up to you. Heres a description of what Rockstar says you can do out of the gate:
Explore the world solo or with friends. Form or join a posse to ride with up to seven players gather around the fire at your Camp head out hunting or fishing visit bustling towns battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts hunt for treasure take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles and compete with other players or whole posses in open-world challenges and much more.

Its Not All Bad News If You Dont Have An Xbox One X
Digital Foundrys analysis of the games performance shows that resolution is the biggest difference between the options. Each console runs the game well enough to otherwise provide an enjoyable experience.
That being said, the standard Xbox One version should be the option of last resort, as it renders the game at the lowest resolution of all four systems. That doesnt make it a bad choice, just the worst on this relative scale.
But if you can, play the game in 4K, with an Xbox One X. Youll get the best-looking and -performing version of the game possible at launch.
Red Dead Redemption 2 benefits from having as much power as a console can throw at it, so Id love to see what a wildly powerful gaming PC would be able to do with the game. Lets hope that happens sooner than later if at all.
For now, however, Xbox One X owners have reason to celebrate. Theyre getting the best version of what is likely to be one of the biggest games of the year.
