Epic Games has made an outstanding job in making Fornite cross-platform chat as seamless as possible. The game automatically allows you to chat with anyone youre grouped with regardless of platform, even those on mobile. If for some reason youre unable to talk or hear from anyone in your party, simply bring up the options menu by clicking the gear icon. From here, head to the audio section. You can toggle the voice chat setting from inside the lobby or during a match. On mobile, you can toggle the push to talk setting if you would like to easily turn on or off the chat setting at a press of a button while in-game.

That said, for those of you that are looking for a way to join up with your friends in a session of Fortnite, there is some good news. The team over at PwrDown have posted a series of steps that will allow you to play cross-platform with PC and PlayStation 4 players.
Now, this isn’t an official method by any means, so it may not be 100 percent. And also, Xbox One doesn’t appear to be supported with this method, but who knows, the team might be working on it. But if you follow the steps below, you should be able to get these done.
“When you play cross platform, it seems that the PS4 Players will be joining a game full of other PC players,” the author notes. “It doesn’t really matter who makes the lobby either. All stats, V-Bucks and Cosmetics are also carried over between the platforms.”
When it comes to PC players, “you’re best sending this guide to your PS4 friend. PC Players only need to accept a friend request, all the hard work is for the PS4 Players. The console player will need access to a Laptop or Computer, but they can just get their PC friend to help with that part if need be.”

On March 22, 2022, Returnal: Ascension edition will be released. Thus, allowing users to participate in co-op multiplayer. Just follow the steps mentioned below to form a team with another Scout:
Near the crash landing site, connect with the Chronosis portal. Choose whether you want to host or take part in a public cycle. Choose host the private cycle if you want to practice with a friend.

Fortnite players can no longer play cross-platform with their iPhones, iPads, or Macs and can only play with each other now. In other words, Fortnite users who have friends on other platforms cannot play together.
Epic Games tried to get a temporary restraining order from a judge to force Apple to allow Fortnite to stay in the App Store. In contrast, the court case proceeds, but the judge denied its request because Epic Games created the current situation.

How To Play Fortnite With Friends On Other Platforms
The most important part of getting crossplay going is to have your friends registered and accepted in your Epic friends list. If you’re friends on your PSN account or on Xbox Live, that won’t be enough. You can search and add friends using their Epic username from any platform.
Once everyone is friends on Epic’s account system, you should be able to join the lobby of your friend provided you’re playing on the allowed platforms. Once you boot up the game and enter a standard lobby, open the friends tab on the top right corner of the menu and search for your friends. You can either invite them over to your lobby or join a friend’s lobby. Once there, everyone has to hit “Ready” to begin playing. You’ll get a notification if you receive an invite from a friend.
While it’s not clear, the host of the lobby will apparently determine what kind of sever you play on. If your host is playing on Xbox One and you join the lobby while you’re on PC, you’ll be playing against other Xbox One players. Take note that you cannot fill a squad with random players if you’re playing cross platform.
An icon next to your friend’s username will indicate whether they are playing on console, PC/Mac, or mobile. This only applies if your friend is on a different platform.
