What Are The Playstation Now Games

Though PlayStation Now has courted neither the good press of Xbox Game Pass nor the more negative impressions of Google Stadia, it does have its own claim to fame: its games list is enormous. While Stadia still struggles to climb above 30 games and Xbox Game Pass proudly boasts over 100 – and to its credit offers over 200 anyway – PS Nows library is more than 800 games strong, spanning PS2, PS3, and PS4. Its simply massive and makes its competitors lists look miniscule in comparison.

While no PS3 games can be downloaded directly, plenty of PS2 and PS4 games can be, including PS4 favorites like GTA 5, Killzone Shadow Fall, and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and PS2 classics like Red Faction, Dark Cloud, and Star Wars Jedi Starfighter. Given that the complete list is over 800 games, we cant fit them all here, but you can check out the whole list on PlayStations official site.

Cindys Fashion World Pal Version $1314

  • Released: 2004
  • Platform: PlayStation and PC
  • Developed by: Phoenix Games

If there is ever a game that proves that it doesnt have to be good to be valuable it is Cindys Fashion World. Debuting very late into the PlayStations lifecycle with a 2004 release, Cindys Fashion World is a very low-budget title aimed at young children.

Cindys Fashion World became one of the rarest games on the PS1 due to the title releasing with a bug that made it unplayable. This meant that the developers at Phoenix Games pulled the game from the shelves. It did, however, run perfectly on the PS2 via backward compatibility so if one really wanted the play the game beyond collecting purposes thats the way to go.

Now that the mini PlayStation has been out for nearly a week, however, reactions from the community in general seem to be mixed. Some think that the console is worth for the price as it is a nostalgia blast for times when you want to relieve better days. Meanwhile, there are those that think that its not worth buying, that its a mere cash-grab Sony put up to try and cash in on the yuletide season.

So, which is which? Is the PlayStation Classic a cash grab? Or is it worth the price of admission?

Were here to make a case for both.

What Is The Difference Between A Ps2 And A Ps2 Slim

The differences are few, but collectors and nostalgic gamers will no doubt want to know what they are.

The original PS2 console came with a front-loading disc tray and had HDD support, making games such as Final Fantasy XI look even more stunning. The original design was the first generation, and collectors always love the first evolution of a product.

There are more PS2 slim consoles out there in the world, so they tend to cost a little less than sealed copies of the original design. The PS2 Slim doesnt have HDD support, but it does have a flip-up disc tray.

All in all, the PS2 slim had fewer problems and worked a heck of a lot better. But that HDD support will leave Sony super-fans drooling.

Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete Collector’s Edition

Some players aren’t aware of Lunar or Lunar 2, even though they featured fairly heavily in magazines and advertisements at the time. They were like special editions before that became a widespread thing. In the standard box for Lunar 2, players got an art book, CD, a locket, and these weird cardboard cutouts of characters that look like they belong in that old board game, Guess Who. Both games are pretty fun, but they’re definitely on the lower end of PlayStation RPG classics.

The limited edition PS2 as of today sells for $40 $375 depending on the condition of the console itself, what edition it is and if you have all of the accessories, including the original box, cables and controllers.

This is a bit of a cheeky section as the white console is also a limited edition console, but its more often referred to as a White PS2 than anything else.

Other limited edition console colours that can be picked up are red, pink, blue, and silver.

In terms of price, you can expect to pay a similar amount to the white console above. Some colours do cost more than others, however.

How Much Is A Ps One Worth

A used PSOne can sell for anywhere between $18 -280 depending on condition and bundle size.

The PSOne, sometimes referred to as the PS1 Slim, is a streamlined version of the original PS1 console. With the same number of ports and memory card slots, its a more appealing version for those that have less space.

The PSOne was also easier to carry to friends houses too, making it a good choice for chucking in a backpack along with a MultiTap.

While prices for a used PSOne start at around $18, refurbished consoles can go for anything between $14 and $70. Remember to check to see whether refurbished means chipped, or whether it simple means refurbished to a working standard.

Should You Buy A Ps4 In 2021

Now comes the hard part. Should you actually buy a PS4 in 2021, or spend the extra money on a PS5 instead? Well, even with the launch of the PS5, its not like the PlayStation 4 is suddenly obsolete. The console lives on, and youll still be able to download and/or purchase physical discs from the PS4s vast library of titles.

Should you decide to upgrade to the PS5 somewhere down the road maybe once they release a revised Slim model and/or add more games to their portfolio you can rest assured that your PS4 games will come with you. Since the PS5 is backwards compatible with the vast majority of PS4 games, theres little reason to jump on a PS5 purchase at the moment, not when you can wait for the inevitable price drop, or revised hardware release. As for me, my fingers are crossed for a PS5 Slim model that will easily fit inside my entertainment center cubbyhole.

With PS4 prices the lowest theyve been all year, its easy to find a great deal on a gently used console that can still provide you with countless hours of entertainment. The real question is which PS4 model is right for you.

If youre still gaming on an older 1080p TV, youll be more than satisfied with the original PS4 or PS4 Slim. But if you find yourself playing at a lot of online games , you may want to lean toward the PS4 Slim which supports faster 5GHz WiFi connections.

Is Playstation Now Worth It

How Much Will the PlayStation 4 Cost?

With all that out of the way comes the most important question at all: is it worth it? The answer: yes. Usually. PlayStation Now doesnt make sense for those playing on the poles of the gaming community. Anyone who plays very few games, like those that just spend time with some sports titles or maybe the annual shooter of their choice dont need to subscribe to a library of hundreds of games. Likewise, those who already rigorously keep up with new releases month after month may discover even a library this big isnt hiding many gems you didnt already find. But for everyone else – and thats a vast majority – PS Now is a fantastic way to play.

If PlayStation is where you do most of your gaming and you hope to do a lot of it, assuming youve got a decent or better internet connection, PS Now is definitely worth it, and we suspect its only going to get better with this years PS5.

Speaking of the next generation, dont miss our ever-growing list of upcoming PS5 games.

What Is Playstation Now

You may have already gathered this, but PS Now allows users to stream older PlayStation titles over the internetthink of it like Netflix for PlayStation games. It costs $20 a month for unlimited streaming, offering access to over 450 PlayStation titles. Sounds solid on paper, and for the most part, it is. Especially if you love the older games.

Of course it offers streaming on the PlayStation 4 and Pro, but it also allows users to stream games to their Windows PCs. It works a lot like using PlayStation Remote Play on a Windows deviceyou need a USB cable for your DualShock controller, a PlayStation account, PlayStation Now subscription, and the Windows application. From there, it feels exactly like the PlayStation application.

And really, thats the biggest selling point of PlayStation Now in my opinion: you can stream games pretty much anywhere if you have a laptop. It also allows gamers who may not have a current-gen PlayStation to play some of the consoles best and most famous titles.
