How Do You Play
In Hello Neighbor, you can move using basic controls, jump, sprint, and sneak. You can pick up objects and either use them as intended or throw them.
You’ll want to observe your neighbor’s movements and try to avoid them as you sneak into his house. If you hear a creepy noise and see the screen go dark, it means he’s discovered you or is nearby, and you’ll want to find a place to hide, such as in a closet. You can also run from him and escape to the safety of your house he can’t get you there.
As you explore his house, you’ll want to try to unlock any doors you come across, use keys you find, or steal and use any suspicious objects you discover. You can also use the traps, trinkets, and objects he sets up against him, or to your own advantage. Be on the lookout for ladders and chairs he places, and carefully observe the rooms you enter so you don’t accidentally set off one of his traps!

The easiest way to find the Red Key that you need to unlock the basement is to climb up the roof using the shelf and boxes on the left of the front porch. You can find a couple of boxes in the backyard, near the back right-hand corner of the house. Pick up at least two of them, and then climb up the shelf.

Hello Neighbor is a popular first-person tactical puzzler with a revolutionary mechanic truly intelligent AI characters. When you move into a new house, you learn that your neighbor isnt as normal as he first seems. Your ultimate aim in the Hello Neighbor open beta is to learn what is down in the basement of your neighbors house. To do this, you need to find a few items that allow you to open the door to the basement. The basement door has two wooden planks over it that you need a crowbar to remove, and it is opened using a keycard that you need to find.
The first thing you need is the key to a different door within the house, one that houses the much-needed crowbar and lock-pick. However, this key may be the hardest item to get because the neighbor has it on his person. To get it you need to wait for him to fall asleep, walk up to him, grab it from his belt, and make a run for it.
Once you have done that, head round the back of the house where you will see a broken window. Climb through, head through the bedroom door and to the back of the house where, on your right, youll see a door with a padlock on it. Use the key you found earlier to unlock the door, and youll see the lock-pick and a crowbar sitting inside. You can take the crowbar back to your house to keep it safe, as you wont need it immediately.
Next, return to the back of the house where youll see a locked toolshed. Use the lock-pick you found to unlock it and inside youll find a gun and a wrench.

Hello Neighbor Basic Controls
For those just jumping into the game and getting frustrated by the lack of explanation on the game’s controls, there are a few basics to keep in mind. You can have up to four items in your inventory at once, with old items you pick up disappearing and going into previous inventory slots.
After the opening segment, press and hold E to pick up any object that makes the reticle become a larger circle, then hold the right mouse button to aim and release to throw. The longer you hold, the farther and harder it goes. If you only right click without holding, objects won’t actually break windows.
Knocking over the neighbor with a coffee mug
Objects can also knock over the neighbor, so keep something like the bowling ball or even a cup in your inventory for situations where you can’t hide. If you hold down the right click for a stronger throw, he’ll be knocked off balance for a few seconds so you can get away.
Hiding under beds or inside cabinets only works if the neighbor didn’t specifically see you enter the room, so you need to get ahead of him when he’s chasing you.
How Do You Open The Door In Hello Neighbor
Enter the hole in the wall, then turn around. On your left, youll find a golden key hanging from a hook. After making your way through the hole in the wall in Hello Neighbor, be sure to grab the golden key. Grab the golden key, use it to unlock the door, then look for the Red Car Key located nearby.

How To Find The Red Key
The easiest way to find the Red Key that you need to unlock the basement is to climb up the roof using the shelf and boxes on the left of the front porch.
You can find a couple of boxes in the backyard, near the back right-hand corner of the house. Pick up at least two of them, and then climb up the shelf.
From here, drop the boxes directly beneath you so that they boost you up and you can jump onto the roof. At this point, you should be on a part of the roof that you cant move past, as the roof is too steep to climb.
Turn around and look for the very front of the roof. You should be able to jump over to this. You could also try placing three boxes beneath you to reach it.
Once you are on the front part of the roof, locate the white boards on the side and hop down onto one of them, and move to the next portion of the roof.
This will give you access to the portion of the roof with two windows that lead to the upstairs area. Make sure you bring something with you to smash through one of the windows, and then head inside.
Now you want to locate the painting right next to the door and interact with it. This will pull it off the wall, revealing a hole in the wall that you can jump through. Head through the wall, and turn around.
Grab the Golden Key off the hanger and unlock the lock on the door, and then look for the Red Car Key on a hook nearby.
Grab it and head back out of the room, and off of the roof to the ground.

Hello Neighbor Stealth / Exploration
Now that you’ve got the controls down, it’s time to start exploring the house! Stay alert for audio / visual cues when the neighbor is near and when he’s spotted you, increasingly getting louder as the screen blurs black. These audio cues show up even if he’s in a different room or you don’t physically see him yet.
The first order of business is getting past a nasty bear trap blocking the front door. Throw an object like a glue bottle at the bear trap to get through — but remember he will reset it eventually, so keep an object on hand at all times.
Well that’s suspicious…
While inside, stay crouched down, keep away from light sources, and take note of cabinet locations so you can quickly hide. Keep in mind that most doors open towards you, not outwards, so if you are too close to the door when pressing E it won’t actually open.
Any changes you make while inside the home remain in effect even after you get caught . So for instance if you remove the chair and unlock the back door, you can now get in through the back door for each subsequent break-in, even after you get caught.
Having trouble getting into the front door the first time to start opening other entrances? Lure the neighbor out by throwing something loud at the bear trap , then run back to your house and wait. Eventually he’ll leave out the front door and head to the back yard, letting you inside to start your search.

Why Is Hello Neighbor So Bad
Hello Neighbor is unpolished to the point that it feels unfinished.
