Issues Setting The Correct Brightness For Ps4 Version

Guns, trees and walls lose details and are mostly black. There is an in-game video setting for “Brightness”, by default set on 50 . This is where adjusting the settings would do the trick, only problem is that there isn’t anything to set the correct brightness level to… No black bars, background or pluge patterns… Nothing!?!?
My monitor and PS4 have both been calibrated and give the perfect image straight out of the box, without having to adjust anything, with all other games. I would love to see a patch in the future for this issue… Please give us a pattern to set brightness properly. Or an in-game THX optimizer like Star Wars has got in the movies on disc. Thank you!
Just to be sure I rechecked all my settings and it turned out my monitor automatically picked up a different color space with an other level of brightness. By adjusting this setting, the default setting of 50 turned out to be spot on again.
I think gamers would really appreciate a slightly more advanced brightness setting, with an image to set it up properly, in stead of an empty white screen. In main menu go to: “settings” -> “video” -> “brightness”, to find the setting I’m talking about.

Why Is My Ps4 Brightness So Low
Many PS4 users complain about their screen getting too dark when they are playing a game or watching a movie. This can be pretty annoying. So if you have ever faced the same issue, lets find out why it happens and what you can do to stop it.

The DualShock 4s light bar is a neat thing. It works with many games to mimic whats happening on the screenin The Last of Us, for example, it will change colors as your health degrades, and turn red as you die. Its a little thing, but its cool. The downside is that its also a battery hog, causing the controller to die much quicker than most of us would like. Thankfully, you can dim it.
To get started, head into your PlayStations Settings menu. This is denoted by the little suitcase icon.
From the main Settings screen, scroll down until you see Devices and jump in there.
Then choose Controllers.
The last option in this menu is Brightness of DUALSHOCK 4 Light Bar. Thats wshat youre looking for.
Its set to Bright by default, but there are two other options available: Medium and Dim.
To confirm your selection, just tap X.
Thats really all there is to it. This will apply to the currently-connected controller, but its also profile-specific. So if you like the controller dim, but someone else who shares your PS4 wants all the brightness all the time, there wont be any issues.

To Set The Screen Brightness Using The Power Panel:
Open the Activities overview and start typing Power.
Adjust the Screen brightness slider to the value you want to use. The change should take effect immediately.
If your computer features an integrated light sensor, the screen brightness will automatically be adjusted for you. You can disable automatic screen brightness in the Power panel.

Many modern laptops and tablets have an ambient brightness sensor, which works similarly to the one found on smartphones and tablets. Windows can use the sensor for adaptive brightness, automatically increasing your display brightness when youre in a bright area, and decreasing the brightness when youre in a dark room.

Disabling Dynamic Tone Mapping On Your Tv
If your TV is good enough to display HDR at a passable level, then we recommend disabling Dynamic Tone Mapping, or its equivalent, on your TV if it available. This feature adds post-processing to the HDR image, which may lead to inaccurate black and white colors.
If your TV has HGiG, then we recommend turning that on instead. The HGiG mode is made specifically for videogames to provide a consistent HDR image quality across different television models.

What Brightness Is Best For Your Eyes
Your screen brightness should be adjusted according to the rooms lighting. If the room brightness is between 300-500 lux, adjust the screen brightness to around 100-150 cd/m2. When adjusting the brightness, make sure you can easily see the screen without having to focus a lot.

so i got the sims 4 on the ps4 recently, i have a ps4 pro and a 4K tv. I have my tv set to have basic brightness, making dark darks, and bright brights, but not so bright that the color bleeds. When playing the sims 4 i noticed the game over rode my ps4 and tv settings causing the game to be extremely bright, and color bleed. is there a setting in the game to turn down the brightness? the game is so bright that it legitimately hurts me eyes, and this is a first in my 30+ years of gaming. Even my pc copy wasn’t this bright.
i rather not have to change my tv settings just for 1 game as every game i play doesn’t have this issue. I noticed there is no gamma/brightness setting and figure i ask to see if there is one.

How To Match The Ps5 And Tv Rgb Ranges
Having mismatching RGB ranges on your PlayStation 5 and TV could result in the game looking too bright and/or dark due to blown highlights and crushed blacks.
To resolve this issue, the RGB range on your television needs to match the RGB range of your PlayStation 5. On the PS5, you have three options: Automatic , Full and Limited.
If your TV RGB is set to limited or its equivalent, then your PS5 should also be set to limited. If your TV RGB is set to full or its equivalent, then your PS5 should be set to full.
The Automatic option should, in theory, detect your televisions RGB range and match the setting with your PlayStation 5s RGB range. However, that doesnt always happen. So, if you are seeing loss in details due to overly bright and/or dark scenes, then you need to manually adjust the RGB range.
To do so on the PlayStation 5, you need to take the following steps:
1. From the Home Screen main menu, locate and enter Settings, which you can find on the upper right corner.
2. In the Settings menu, enter Screen and Video.
3. In the Screen and Video menu, select Video Output on the list from the left side of the screen and then RGB Range on the right side of the screen.
