Playstation Network Not Working
Playstation was quick on its feet to fix issues. PSN services were restored for PS3, PS Now, PS Vita, and web users first, but the PS4 network was still facing issues. Players with the PS4 could not play online games or access services by PSN. They were facing issues with logging in and accessing PlayStation Store too.
After being down for around 4 hours, Playstation Network was back on with all its services available for all its devices and the players rejoiced. There were issues with downloading games on the network which has been addressed by Sony on its PlayStation network status website.
Sony said, You may experience somewhat slower or delayed game downloads because we’re working with ISPs to manage download traffic. We believe it’s important to do our part to address internet stability concerns as an unprecedented number of people are staying home and practicing social distancing. We appreciate the support and understanding from our community.

Following an update released Wednesday morning, PlayStation users began reporting a number of issues with their PlayStation Network service, including full outages.
The first reports came in around 8:30 a.m. ET.
Users say theyve experienced issues when launching games, apps and network features on both PS4 and PS5, as well as issues with PlayStation Now, PlayStation Direct and the PlayStation Store. Sony acknowledged the issues on its website.
Once the outages are fixed, the update promises new features including an option to create open or closed parties on both the PS4 and PS5. An open party will allow friends to see and join a party without an invite. Closed parties will be limited to those who receive an invite.
For the PS5, the update will bring enhancements to Game Base and Trophy cards and new features such as mono audio for headphones.
PS5 players in the U.S. and U.K. will also get a sneak peek at a voice command feature.
Sony also said it will launch a Variable Refresh Rate for PS5 on HDMI 2.1-compatible TVs and PC monitors in the coming months
Fix : Change Dns Settings
PSN sign-in failed can be ascribed to the blocked IP address. To unblock the IP address, you can try changing DNS settings. Below are the steps to change DNS settings.
Step 1: Go to Settings> Network.
Step 2: Select Internet Connection Setup.
Step 3: Select Use Wi-Fi to connect to the network and then choose Custom.
Step 4: Select the Wi-Fi network you want to use and then set the IP Address Settings as Automatic.
Step 5: Select Do Not Specify on the DHCP Host Name screen.
Step 6: Select Manual under DNS Settings, and then enter the following Google DNS. After that, click the Next button to continue.
- Primary DNS 126.96.36.199
- Secondary DNS 188.8.131.52
Step 7: When you see MTU Settings, still select Manual and then set the MTU value as 1456.
Step 8: Click Do Not Use under Proxy Server. Then, click Test Internet Connection.
When the test comes to an end, please try to resign-in PlayStation Network.

Run The Playstation 5’s Network Test
The PS5 includes a built-in test that tries to get online and connect to the PlayStation Network , then lets you know the results. If you’re still not sure why your PS5 won’t get online, you should run this.
To go through the network test, head to Settings > Network > Connection Status. Select Test Internet Connection here to run a new check.
Here’s what the steps in this test mean:
- Obtain IP address: If this passes, your PS5 connected to your router and got an IP address successfully.
- Internet connection: When this succeeds, your console is able to get online.
- PlayStation Network sign-in: This final step makes sure you can connect to PSN to enjoy online games and other services.
- Connection speed: These should be in the ballpark of the speed you get from your ISP. If they’re extremely low, your system likely has a weak Wi-Fi signal.
If your PS5 is online but won’t connect to PSN, you may need to forward ports on your router so that your console can access PSN services. If one of the other two checks failed, walk through the general network troubleshooting guide linked earlier.
After you do this test, you might want to walk through the PlayStation Fix & Connect wizard. Select your problem from the initial screen, then it will walk you through some troubleshooting steps to hopefully resolve it. Most of these are the same tips we mention here, but trying Sony’s tool might help you catch something you overlooked.

Culprits Behind Playstation Network Sign
Why cant I sign into PlayStation Network on my PS4? The possible reasons are:
1.You input a mismatched username and password:
The most common reason for the sign-in error is that you input your username or password wrong. So, make sure your input the right username and password.
2. The PS Network server is down due to maintenance:
PS users will encounter PlayStation Network Sign-In: Failed when the server is in maintenance. You can go to the path: Setting> Network> Test Internet Connection and then follow the on-screen instructions to make sure your console can get online.
3. Your IP has been changed or banned by PS:
If you see the error code WS-37397-9, it means that your IP address has been banned. Thats because PlayStation Network server Ais detects some suspicious activities from your IP address.
4. Your internet connection goes wrong:
Make sure that your network connection can work functionally.
Now, lets start performing the following solutions to fix PSN sign-in failed.
Stop Other Network Activity And Review Your Internet Plan
Your home network only has so much bandwidth, so if there’s a lot of other heavy activity going on, your PS5’s network performance will suffer. Stop any other devices in your house that are downloading or uploading large files, streaming high-res video, or similar. This should free up bandwidth for your PS5 to perform at its best.
In case nothing else is happening on your network and your PS5 still suffers from poor network performance, your internet plan might be insufficient for your needs. Read up on how fast your internet speed should be to figure out if you need to upgrade.
And remember that even with a strong internet plan, lousy network equipment can act as a bottleneck. You might need to consider a new router from a trusted manufacturer as well.

Check Psn And Your Isp For Outages
At this point, you’ve ruled out most minor issues and have improved your PS5’s connection to your network. You should now check whether the issue lies somewhere else along the linethough it’s rare, PSN could be down.
Head to the PSN Service Status page on any device to have a look. If anything is wrong, you’ll see a message about it here.
You should also check your ISP for outages. Using mobile data on your phone, you can log into your account with your ISP and check its status page for issues in your area, or try a site like Downdetector to check for recent reports of problems. You can contact your ISP and let them know about the issue, but you’ll probably talk to a robot.
In case of issues on someone else’s end, there’s not much you can do aside from waiting for Sony or your ISP to fix the problem.
Fixing The Unable To Sign In To Playstation Network Fortnite Error
Anyone having problems when loading Fortnite on PlayStation? Its says unable to sign in to your account for PlayStation network. Please try again later
The Fortnite Status Twitter account has acknowledged there is an issue, but not one with PlayStation users directly. It states they are affected by a broader internet issue that is affecting many of their online services.
The replies to the tweet are filled with PlayStation Fortnite players asking if PSN is down or if any other PlayStation users are experiencing the error.
Fortnite is currently impacted by a broader internet issue affecting a range of online services. We’ll provide an update when players are able to jump in as normal.
Right now, it is hard to come across a PlayStation Fortnite player who is not experiencing this issue. It seems like PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch users are doing just fine, however.
If players want to fix this problem, there are a few things they can try. First and foremost, unplug the internet connection, whether it’s a modem or router, for 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
This should reset the internet. Try and log in to Fortnite on PlayStation after doing so. If that doesn’t work, players should uninstall and reinstall the battle royale on their system to see if that solves the problem.

Change Your Dns Settings
If other devices can connect to your home network but your console cant, try changing the DNS settings.
To do this, go to Network Settings and select Custom for Wired or Wi-Fi, depending on the type of connection youre using. Next, select the auto-IP address setting, and choose Do Not Use as the DHCP Host Name.
Youll see a prompt with two DNS settings select Manual. Next, set 184.108.40.206 as your primary DNS, and 220.127.116.11 as your secondary DNS.
Ideally, your console will cycle through its tests and re-connect. If it doesnt your DNS settings arent the issue.
