When Will The Playstation 5 Come Out

Where To Buy Ps5 Accessories In The Us

New PS5 Model Out In Some Regions | GameSpot News

Sony unveiled a line of accessories to accompany the PS5 at its official reveal event. These include a DualSense charging station, wireless headset, media remote, and camera. These PS5 accessories are now available to buy at the following prices:

  • DualSense Wireless Controller â Buy now | US$69.99
  • PULSE 3D wireless headset â Buy now | US$99.99
  • DualSense Charging Station â Buy now | US$29.99

While it’s easy to get a hold of accessories like the HD Camera, Media Remote, and DualSense controller, the PULSE 3D Wireless headset and DualSense Charging Station tend to sell out. So we wouldn’t recommend paying more than MSRP if you happen to see scalpers trying to sell them. Instead, wait it out until you see them come back in stock.

Is A Black Ps5 Available Through Official Channels

In a huge FAQ post about the PS5 released a few days before the consoles launch, Sony confirmed that there wont be additional colors or designs available for either of the PS5 models at launch.

This was an expected confirmation, given there has been no mention of a variation on the PS5s current two-tone design. As a result, many have taken to creating a black PS5 themselves, including one of our friends over at Gfinityesports.com, taking off the PS5 panelling and painting it black.

Just spray painted a #PS5 black. which do you prefer?

Gfinity

This may sound like a nifty idea, but it comes with a warning! This will likely render any warranty void, meaning if your PS5 runs into any issues, Sony might not help you.

Of course, the key phrase in the FAQs was at launch. This leaves open the possibility for a black PS5 in the future. But here we are over a year later, and we still know nothing about what this could entail.

When Does The Playstation 5 Go On Sale

Both versions of the PlayStation 5 launch on November 12th in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Theyll launch on November 19th in the rest of the world. The one exception is China Sony says it will announce a launch date for China in the future.

Pre-orders for the PS5 were a bit of a mess, though, sometimes selling out in less than a minute. And demand is likely to remain high throughout the holiday season, if not into 2021. So if youre thinking about picking up a PS5 now that its out, you might need a little luck to get your own.

Update November 12th, 1:30PM ET: Weve learned a lot more about the PS5 since we first published this article in September and reviewed it! so weve made numerous updates throughout.

Correction November 12th, 1:30PM ET: We originally said the PS5 had 802.11ac Wi-Fi, but it actually has 802.11ax Wi-Fi . We regret the error.

How To Transfer Games From Ps4 To Ps5

We’ll walk you through how to complete the process via external drives, plain old discs, or using one of the console’s digital and cloud-based options.

How Often Is The Ps5 Available To Buy

Rumor: PlayStation 5 Release Date Leaked

It can vary depending on region and various other unseen factors but we generally see PS5 restocks at retailers about once or twice a month. That’s just on average, though. At some stores it can be as often as every two weeks or at others as infrequent as every two months.

Essentially, it’s still far from regular even over a year from the launch of the console. That said, some retailers have settled into a fairly predicating rhythm that allows us to give you a solid idea of when to be ready to buy. Others have taken to announcing when their next PS5 restock will take place so it’s less of a guessing game. Either way, we cover all the latest PS5 restock news, rumours and announcements at TechRadar to give you the best chance possible of securing a console.

Where To Get A Playstation 5

If you want to buy a PS5 now — like, right this very moment — the best place to get one is StockX. Though the site is a third-party reseller, StockX authenticates PlayStation 5 consoles and offers some of the best third-party pricing around. Note, however, that you’ll have to pay a $100 premium or more over the console’s MSRP to buy one there.

It’s possible that you’ll still be able to get a PS5 console at Best Buy, Walmart or GameStop, even if you’re not willing to drop your hard-earned cash on a premium membership or third-party reseller offering. If social media is your thing, Tech Radar Editor-in-Chief Matt Swider has turned his Twitter profile into a PS5 restock tracker of sorts. He even flew to Boston last October to live blog the GameStop in-store restock in person.

Playstation 5 Price Vs Xbox Series X Price

So, how does the PS5 compare to the Xbox Series X on price? Better than many expected, as it happens.

The Xbox Series X and the full-fat PS5 are identically priced, at £449 .

Both consoles also have a disc drive-less, cheaper sibling: that’s the Xbox Series S and the PS5 Digital Edition. This is where things get really interesting, because the Xbox Series S costs only £250 , whereas the PS5 Digital Edition is £360 .

That’s a big step up, but it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Series X but the PS5 Digital Edition is identical to the standard PS5 except for the lack of a disc drive. In other words, the PS5 Digital Edition is more of a proper next-gen games console than the Xbox Series S.

How Much Does A Ps5 Cost

The PS5 costs $499 – which is the same price as Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. The cheaper PS5 Digital Edition is priced at $399.99 . It’s almost guaranteed that both versions of the console will remain at this price for some time. Demand is still astronomically high for the console and Sony sees no reason to discount it for the time being.

Update: Midnight Black Ps5 Controller Revealed

Sony has revealed two new DualSense controller variants Midnight Black, and Cosmic Red. Released in June 2021, these are the first PS5 products to not come in the black-and-white design, and shows us that Sony has not thrown away its black paint entirely.

First revealed in a trailer on 13 May 2021, which you can see below, these two DualSense controllers could signal that Sony has heard its fans and is set to launch a new swathe of PS5 products in different colours.

In explaining the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red design, Sonys Leo Cardosa said in a blog post: We wanted the new controller colors to complement each other, as well as the original DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console, so we designed the colors around the theme of galaxy as it felt like a natural progression from the original PS5 and accessories designs.

Players could buy the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red DualSense controllers from June 2021.

Does this mean we might also see a Cosmic Red PS5 in the future?

Pulse 3d In Midnight Black

To tease us even further, Sony is releasing a midnight black version of its Pulse 3D headset in October 2021. This is by no means proof that a PS5 black console is in the pipeline. But it isnt exactly a stretch to envisage a black console to match the headset and the DualSense controllers. Why wouldnt Sony allow us to coordinate our equipment? Are they monsters? We will have to wait and see.

Ps5 Restock Latest News And Rumors

PS5 coming 2018

Christmas is just days away, which means we’re now entering the last-chance saloon if you want a PS5 console for holiday gifting. GameStop will be holding an in-store PS5 restock on Thursday, December 23. The console will only be available in bundles and you may need to be a PowerUp Reward Pro member to purchase a console.

Meanwhile, if you want to increase your odds of getting hold of a PS5 before the end of the year, then make sure to sign up for Sony’s invite-only PS5 restock registration. You won’t be guaranteed a console, but it’s a great way to get your email into the mix and potentially be selected to participate in future Sony Direct drops.

An interesting restock-related tidbit has been uncovered recently. It looks like US lawmakers are once again attempting to ban the use of scalper bots. This could have a seriously positive impact on the availability of PS5 restocks, although pushes for similar laws in the past have ultimately been unfruitful. Hopefully, this time it sticks and scalpers ruining restocks becomes a problem of the past.

The PS5 could become an even more desirable console next year, as Sony is reportedly launching Project Spartacus to directly challenge Xbox Game Pass. The new service would combine PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now and grant PlayStation owners access to a library of classic and modern games for a monthly subscription fee.

Best Gaming Headset Under 100 Razer Blackshark V2 + Usb Soundcard: 9999 Razercom

Fans of the original Blackshark headset, released by Razer in 2012, should get excited about the remastered V2, which was released just last month. The V2 takes everything its predecessor mastered amazing audio, superior mic clarity, supreme sound isolation, premium comfort and enhances it, truly making this the gamers gaming headset.

For the audiophiles, the V2 offers a huge depth of customisation, from the 50mm drivers that allow individual tuning for highs, mids and lows to the soundcard and advanced mic controls that finetune the pick-up area and eliminate background noise so that you can deliver your burns loud and clear.

But the real USP is undoubtedly the superior features that come with Razers partnership with THX the movie-standard audio company of George Lucas fame. Not only does this deliver a lifelike and realistic 360 degrees of sound, but you are able to create profiles for your favourite games. You can adjust the settings to your liking, down to the finest detail, to ensure you are able to pinpoint and track your enemies allowing you to turn up softer sounds without overpowering the louder ones, like picking up footsteps during a chaotic firefight while the surround sound ensures you wont lose any of the immersive environment sounds. In layman’s terms, you hear sounds exactly where youd expect to hear them.

Ps5 Review: Performance And Games

That cross, circle, square, and triangle pattern on the inside of the PS5’s fins is just lovely.

Right, straight off the bat, there is one thing that I need to discuss in this PS5 review when talking about performance and it’s something that readers of T3 will be used to by now if they have just read my Xbox Series X and S reviews. And that thing is storage space.

The PS5 is advertised as shipping with an 825GB SSD, which on paper sounds rather large, even if it is less than the 1TB drive that the Xbox Series X is advertised as coming with.

Just as the Xbox Series X doesn’t actually have 1TB of useable room for games, apps, and media out of the box, with just 800GB available, the PS5 follows suit and technically only has 667GB of useable space when first switched on.

The PS5’s load times are so fast gamers will be pinching themselves to check if they are dreaming

Now, look, I realise that you can install plenty of AAA games with that amount of space, but when you consider that right now at launch you can’t actually make use of the console’s hardware expansion port , and that flagship last-gen PlayStation systems came with more storage space, you can’t help but feel a little disappointed.

Hardcore gamers will absolutely want more storage space in their PS5 and, in my mind, the sooner Sony can turn on its M.2 SSD drive expansion port, the better. Especially so as both Microsoft’s systems can be upgraded in storage right now and it can be done easier, too.

Where To Buy Ps5

– last PS5 restock on November 27For some super strange reason, Amazon decided to unleash a small amount of PS5 stock the day after Prime Day finished. But despite the strange move, the stock still sold out almost straight away. Keep checking those links for more random drops. If you just miss out, stick around as it usually updates with another time shortly after for a second or third resupply the same day.

If you fancy giving Walmart Plus a go for free right now by the way, for free speedy delivery, discounted fuel, and other benefits, there’s currently a 15-day free trial.

GameStop – last PS5 restock on November 29Things are picking up at GameStop with PS5 stock seemingly coming in at least once a week on a regular basis recently. Wednesdays or Thursdays seem to be your best bet. Bundles are often available, so if you spot any you like, dive in as they sell out slower than solo consoles.

Where will PS5 go in 2022? Heres what to look forward to in the new year

Despite shortages that saw the console disappear off shelves as fast as it could be replenished, the PlayStation 5 has had an excellent 2021. At the last count, 13.4 million PS5s have been sold, and it would undoubtedly have been more if supply could keep up with demand.

Whisper it, but that masks the fact that killer exclusives have been in almost equally short supply. Sure, there are plenty of must-play titles on our list of the best PS5 games, but most of them arent exclusive to the new hardware.

Will 2022 improve on availability and software? What about new hardware and accessories? Heres what were expecting from PS5 in 2022.
