Pro Xbox One: There Is A Huge Selection Of Different Xbox One Controllers

What’s the Difference Between the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S ?

With names like Copper Shadow and Lunar White, Xbox One controllers are really brazen and stylish. What started as a small community of players spray painting the faceplates of their controllers has turned into a cool side-project for Microsoft. Since Microsoft already has the tools to build their own flashy controllers, the company gave the reigns to players as well. Xbox Design Lab lets you customize your own Xbox One controller with official components from Microsoft. Best of all, since Xbox One controllers are Bluetooth, you can use that personalized controller on a wide-range of devices. Then theres the Xbox Elite controller, which costs a pretty penny but is for all intents and purposes the best gaming controller ever built.

The Power Of The Next Generation

November is the start of gadget season. If you’re looking for a gift that’s a little more exciting than one of those new tablets, but don’t feel the need to invest in a full-spec PC gaming rig, consider one of the new consoles from Sony or Microsoft. They’re perfect gaming, living-room friendly, media-playing devices.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 is already out in the U.S., having sold a million on launch. Microsoft’s Xbox One launches around the world this week, and reviews are pouring in. However, even though both feature PC technology from AMD, pack Blu-ray drives and expansive hard disks, there are some major differences that could sway the buyers in either direction.

  • The PlayStation 4 looks small, sleek and stylish. The Xbox One looks like a big block in comparison. If you have limited space, then the Xbox and its power brick won’t look half as neat as the PlayStation.
  • The Xbox One provides an HDMI thru-connector, so you can run your cable or satellite box through one port and manage your service using the Xbox’s voice instructions. You can swap between playing a game and watching TV at a moment’s notice and pick up where you left off, which is pretty cool.
  • You pay $100 more for the Xbox One with a Kinect 2 controller, which offers motion sensing . This could be a huge feature in coming years, but for now it is a costly extra with limited utility .
  • Faster Storage Delivers Much Shorter Load Times

All games and saves on an Xbox Series X or Series S are stored on a much newer and much faster type of storagecalled NVMethan the platter-based hard drive the Xbox One uses. This new storage helps provide some of the most obvious improvements to the overall user experience and games for this new console generation, with a night-and-day difference in console startup, game boot-ups, and in-game load times.

Playstation 5 Vs Xbox Series X: Specs

The PS5 looks to fall short compared to the Xbox Series X regarding technical specifications. In terms of clock speeds, the Xbox Ones is 3.8GHz, whereas the PS5s is 3.5GHz. Both systems feature AMD graphics processors, with the Xbox generating 12 teraflops of power and the PS5s 10.28 teraflops.

Both consoles employ solid-state drives instead of traditional hard disk drives, with Microsofts providing a terabyte of storage compared to the PS5s 825GB. However, the PS5s storage is built and integrated in such a manner that it is so quick that it effectively enhances total console performance.

    Xbox One Vs Ps: Hardware

What is the main difference between Playstation and Xbox?

The PS4 Slim and Xbox One S are both impressively sleek, offering attractive designs that look great under a TV and can fit into a backpack without a problem. The newest PS4 has a slight edge in terms of sheer smallness, though it lacks an optical input for high-end gaming headsets.

Sony’s 4K-ready PS4 Pro has a chunkier, hamburger-like design, while the Xbox One X, which is even more powerful than the Pro, is somehow slimmer than the Xbox One S.

Both consoles start with 500GB of storage that you can easily expand by connecting one of the best external hard drives for PS4 and Xbox One. PS4 owners also have the option of opening up their consoles to swap in a new 2.5-inch or SATA drive.

Each controller has its perks the Xbox One pad has textured grips and can be customized via the Xbox Design Lab, while Sony’s DualShock 4 is highly ergonomic and has a touchpad and reactive lightbar. The PS4 controller is the only one that supports micro USB charging right out of the box Xbox One owners will need to rely on AA batteries or buy a $25 charging kit.

Thanks to the $299 PlayStation VR headset, PS4 is the only of the two consoles to currently support virtual reality. The PSVR’s game lineup has grown quite compelling over the years, too, headlined by such major titles as Tetris Effect, Resident Evil 7, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission and Moss.

There’s currently no equivalent for Xbox One, and it doesn’t look like Microsoft plans to bring VR to Xbox anytime soon.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Subscription Price

The price of the console is one thing, but the subscription price can often be a deal breaker. If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t really like multiplayer games, nor free games, then there’s no real need for you to subscribe to either Sony’s or Microsoft’s subscription services.

But if you’re like me, and crave playing with my friends whenever I get the time, then signing up to PS Plus or Xbox Live is a must. Below, we’ve made a handy table that’ll show you the price of each subscription service.

    Subscription Services
    Xbox Live Gold$9.99
    Xbox Live Gold$24.99
    Xbox Live Gold$59.99
    PS Plus$59.99

Fortunately, there’s no difference when it comes to the subscription services of the Xbox One and the PS4. It once again, boils down to which console you regard with the most trust, or which console has the most exclusive games that you want to play. Which leads to our next category…

    Nintendo Is Better Than Playstation

FACT: The Nintendo Switch has as many exclusives as the PlayStation 4 .

God of War, Bloodborne, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Ratchet and Clank, Horizon

These are comparable in quality to Super Mario Odyssey, Smash Bros., Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart, Octopath Traveler , Animal Crossing

The lists for both platforms go on and on. Yet any eagle-eyed gamer will notice something:

The games mostly target different audiences.

    • PlayStation offers more to the core gamer
    • Nintendo offers more for younger gamers and families

Another consideration about the PlayStation 4 and 5 is that theyre both more powerful than the Nintendo Switch:

But not as powerful as the Xbox One X, or Series X

Nor is the PlayStation better than the Xbox for its online service or subscription offerings:

    ARGHHHHHH .

    Yet, in summary:

If you want the best deal, power or services buy Xbox.

If you want the best exclusive core games and dont care about being #2 in power and services buy PlayStation.

But that leaves the big question: If it is Nintendo vs PlayStation vs Xbox, why did I pick Nintendo?

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Design

Differences Explained Between Xbox One S & PS4: Which Is The Better Value?

For the most part, whether you like a consoles design comes down to personal preference. But my personal preference is that I cannot stand how the PS5 looks. Not only is the system comically large its also a pain to switch from vertical to horizontal configuration, and the standard version sports an ugly, asymmetrical design.

The front panel is prone to fingerprints the power and disc eject buttons are indistinguishable. Its rare that I recommend you hold off on a console purchase simply to wait for the prettier redesign, but you should very strongly consider doing that with the PS5.

The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, is still pretty bulky, but manages its space much better. Rather than looking like an oversized router, the Xbox Series X is a sleek black box that looks, at least in its vertical form, kind of like a small tower PC . It has a clearly defined power button, as well as a pairing button to make wireless connections painless.

The only big advantage the PS5 has over the Xbox Series X is the presence of a USB-C port which is a big deal, especially as more accessories get USB-C adapters. But even if the Xbox Series X design is much more conservative, its also much more sensible overall.

    Winner: Xbox Series X

    Playstation 4 Vs Xbox One

The PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One video game consoles offer significant improvements over and break compatibility with the previous generation consoles in their respective families: the PS3 and Xbox 360, each of which sold over 100 million units. Both the PS4 and Xbox One offer souped-up graphics processors, more memory than previous systems, redesigned controllers, and all-in-one access to apps like , Hulu, and NFL Network, among others.

This comparison of the two leading consoles in the market examines their hardware specs and performance, price, gameplay, and rules governing the purchase and play of online games.

Both consoles are priced similarly a $399 Xbox One console without the Kinect is priced to match the PS4. When Microsoft first released the Xbox One, it was priced at $499 and the Kinect was bundled in, offering a camera and motion sensing capabilities.

    Sony Playstation 4 Pro

Announced last year alongside the Playstation 4 Slim was the Playstation 4 Pro. While the Slim is a redesigned version of the original PS4, the Pro includes upgrades that make it more powerful. Though all PS4 games must be compatible with both the Slim and Pro models, games often have enhanced graphics and faster frame rates on the Pro model.

These enhancements vary wildly from game to game, however. The gaming picture quality experts at Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry have the best breakdown, having tested nearly every game in-depth. They currently count just under 20 games that run at a native 4K, with 10 of those getting up to 4K at 60 frames per secondwidely considered “state of the art” today.

The PS4 Pro starts at around $399 with a 1TB hard drive, with bundles including games going for around $50 more. Sale prices will affect that, of course, but this may be the best investment if you want a PS4 and own a 4K TV or plan to upgrade in the near future.

The one big mark against the PS4 Pro as the centerpiece of a 4K-ready home theater is that it doesn’t play 4K Blu-ray discs. It can play 1080p Blu-rays, however, and it can also stream 4K and HDR content from services like Netflix.

Quick Resume Acts Like The Ultimate Pause Button

Using their fast storage access, the Xbox Series X and Series S allow you to suspend almost any game by creating a snapshot of it in system memory. You can then start another game, watch a movie, or even turn off and completely unplug your console. The next time you start the game in question, itll pick up exactly where you left off. Its a lot like switching between open apps on a smartphone, and you can do it with several games at once. Games already boot up faster on the new consoles because of their storage speed, and if youre playing more than one thing, switching between games using quick resume saves a lot of time and frustration because you skip any menus and save/load screens that you might otherwise be forced to navigate. And in the few months weve been using the console, every time we boot up a game for the first time in weeks only to load up exactly where we left off in seconds is a delightful experience.

Initially, Quick Resume support was somewhat spotty, with several games encountering problems with the feature but recent patches have improved overall stability, though there are still occasional, unavoidable issues. For titles like the 2018 remaster of Dark Souls, which uses an always online server system, Quick Resume just about always results in a server disconnect, which will boot you to the title screen .

    Some Things Haven’t Changed

The Difference Between The Ps4 And Xbox One Reveals by pr0man1

Despite much saber rattling, most existing Sony PlayStation and Xbox users will likely to stick to the machine and exclusive games with which they are familiar if they opt to upgrade. And after a decade of competition, the two consoles have shared ideas and flaws between them. Therefore, the new offerings are a more of a level playing field than the manufacturers want you to think.

For example, each company’s early generations started out as singular, closed devices, and later opened up to media content apps and social media services. Expect that to continue with the new devices, with improved content sharing features to make gaming more of a social and spectator experience. But there are some things that you won’t see in the brochures.

  • Both devices systems are a little bit broken or incomplete at launch. Multiple patches and upgrades will be the story of owning either of them as functionality is fixed, improved and added over time.
  • The launch games aren’t that good. Most sites are giving middling review scores to the new games for both consoles. If you don’t have to buy one, why not wait a bit until the offering improves?
  • Sony used to have a major advantage with PlayStation Plus, a subscription service offering free games month-by-month. Microsoft’s launch of Games With Gold is intended to counter that, but is somewhat less refined.

Pro Ps: Playstation Gives You More Granular Control Over Data

Its baffling that this is something worth celebrating on a gaming console. Believe it or not, but only Sony lets users get a clear picture of what is taking up space on their hard drives. Obviously, both machines give you some sense of how much space you have available, but only PlayStation surfaces that data in a clear list of applications. Thats a hugely practical feature! If you need to clear out space for a brand new game, its way easier to delete one massive install than a batch of smaller ones. On Xbox One you need to click each game and individually check how much space they are using its a chore. Its not a sexy feature, its a meat and potatoes one something you would expect to have.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Conclusion

If we’re being totally fair, the Xbox One and the PS4 are both thrilling consoles that deserves your time and energy. That said, it’s hard to deny that the PS4 has a library that is simply unmatched by the Xbox One, including massive hits like God of War and The Last of Us Remastered, games that shook the gaming world to the point that they are still talked about today.

PlayStation VR, another feature from Sony, is also huge and is slowly, but surely, earning more than its fair share of audience at a rate that the Xbox One seems to be struggling behind in.

Th,is, of course, does not make the Xbox One a bad console. It’s got cheaper deals, backwards compatibility and it has support from accessories like Alexa, but unfortunately the PS4 still manages to pull ahead.

The Xbox Series X and Series S are backward compatible with all but a handful of Xbox One titles which were based around the no longer supported Kinect sensor. The Series X and Series S will also play the hundreds of Xbox 360 and Xbox titles that Microsoft made the Xbox One backward compatible with as well. Almost all backward-compatible titles will have a variety of graphical enhancements.

Pro Ps: Shopping On Psn Is A Way Better Experience Than On Xbox

Sony PS4 Pro vs Original PS4 vs PS4 Slim: What’s the difference? Should I Buy Playstation 4 Pro?

Browsing PSN is like being a kid in a candy store. Trying to find a game on Xbox is like being swept away in a current of marketing and bad design. On PlayStation, once youve entered the store, everything you need is right there: free PS+ games, whats new, and games on sale. You never need to leave the store to find anything. With Xbox, youre always being ushered to the next product, which is whatever being promoted today. PlayStation also has a bevy of simple features weve come to expect when shopping online. PSN has a cart system and a wishlist features bizarrely absent from the Xbox Marketplace. Microsoft created the digital marketplace on consoles but somehow lost touch with how people like to shop. Hopefully, they get their act together sooner than later.

Pro Xbox One: Game Sharing Is Easy On Xbox One

Microsoft doesnt exactly condone game sharing, but they havent condemned it either. On Xbox, it is very easy to give a friend access to your game collection while youre not using it. Once youre logged into an Xbox One, everyone on that console can play your games. The system automatically creates a new cloud save per account and even lets you earn achievements. On PlayStation, you need to use the license owner’s account to play games purchased on it, which means if you ever do decide to buy that game youll have to start from square one. Xbox users can go a step further by setting up a different machine as their home console, which lets every other account on that Xbox have access to their licenses even if they arent logged in perfect for families.
