What Is Better Xbox Or Playstation

Don't Miss

Xbox One Vs Ps: Bottom Line

PlayStation 5 vs Xbox Series X: Which is better?

With all the above said and done, Sonys PS4 is our overall favorite console. But only just. It pips Microsofts console to the post, thanks to its larger range of killer exclusive games, from the likes of God of War, The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne. It also has a huge range of third-party games, a pleasingly intuative user interface, and a controller that is more innovative than the Xbox Wireless Controller, even if its perhaps not quite as good in everyday gaming use.

But we cant push the Xbox One aside completely, as thanks to exclusives like Halo, Gears 5, and Forza Horizon 4, Microsofts gaming machine is still an excellent console, though wed recommend getting the Xbox One X if youre going to an Xbox One machine. Its also worth remembering that the Xbox One S and One X can both play 4K Blu-rays, unlike the PS4. And Xbox Game Pass offers a huge library of games to play for some $10 a month arguably the Xbox One wins on sheer value for money.

With the Xbox Series X and PS5 now here, pitting the Xbox One vs the PS5 might seem a little moot. But its worth remembering that both consoles offer backwards compatibility, so any games you get for them now will be playable on their newer counterparts. So in effect, you’ll be building your game library ready for a generational upgrade.

Is Ps5 More Powerful Than Xbox Series X Or Vice

The PS5 CPU is a custom third-generation Ryzen chip . As for the PS5 GPU, it’s a heavily customized variant of AMD’s Radeon Navi, which can simulate 3D audio and support ray-tracing. More specifically, it offers 10.28 teraFLOPs and 36 CUs at 2.23GHz. That’s paired with 16GB GDDR6 RAM. In terms of storage, the PS5 packs a custom 825GB SSD running at 5.5GB per second.

In terms of extra storage, while Sony revealed that we would be able to plug in additional SSD support via PCIe 4.0 to expand space for games, it hasnt activated that feature just yet. Given the price of this speed of SSD, its not going to be a cheap endeavor when it is actively turned on but if youre running low on space, you can use regular USB drives to store your games. As announced in a Sony blog post, you just wont be able to run them from the drive and have to transfer to the PS5 before playing.

Now onto the Xbox Series X specs. Like Sony, Microsoft worked with AMD to co-engineer a custom system-on-chip platform . It also has an eight-core Zen 2 system, but the Xbox Series X version clocks in at 3.8GHz. Meanwhile, the GPU can handle 12 teraFLOPs with 52 CUs at 1.825GHz. This allows Xbox Series X to support hardware-accelerated real-time ray-tracing, leading to gorgeous visuals. Finally, the console has 16GB GDDR6 RAM with a hefty 1TB SSD running at 2.4GB per second. If you want more, it can be supported with the official Xbox Series X Storage Expansion Card that offers an extra 1TB of space.

The Green Corner: Xbox Game Pass And Halo Infinite

Both devices will target a baseline of 60 frames per second. Microsoft claims both will hit 120 frames per second on titles like Halo Infinite and Gears 5. Without seeing the hardware in action, though, well just have to take Microsofts word for it .

Buying a console at launch can often feel like a raw deal. Few titles are available, and those that are tend to be iterative sports titles or underwhelming tech demos. Microsoft plans to address this issue with Game Pass, providing a library of over 100 titles people can play from the outset. Most of these are titles already available on last-gen systems.

Game Pass doesnt scrimp on quality, either. First-party titles, like Forza Horizon 4, Minecraft, and Sea of Thieves , will be available at launch. Theres also a rotating selection of decent third-party titles, as well. At this writing, Resident Evil 7, Monster Hunter: World, and Wasteland 3 are all available.

Microsoft also announced its partnering with Electronic Arts to bring EA Play to Game Pass for the holidays. This means youll get all Microsofts exclusives, EAs first-party titles, and a rotating lineup of third-party games with your subscription.

Fortunately, that future looks bright. Below are some of Microsofts Xbox first-party exclusives:

  • A new Fable game.
  • The next-generation Forza Motorsport title.
  • A new game from Rare called Everwild.
  • Obsidian Entertainments first foray into the open-world fantasy RPG genre, Avowed.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X Controller And Features What Are The Big Selling Points

Which is better: xBox or Playstation? The Devils

The Xbox Series X has Quick Resume, a feature that allows you to swap between the active states of six different games at once. Kept running by the internal SSD, its a feature that has had a huge impact. Instead of having to wait for a title to load, and then sitting through an array of menu options, youre thrown straight into the action.

Im blown away by how well it works, even maintaining my suspended states after the console has been unplugged for an extended period of time. Combine this with fantastic loading times and the whole experience feels wonderful, and a noticeable step ahead of the competition when it comes to backward compatibility. The PS5 is lacking such a feature right now, and I didnt expect its absence to be so notable.

In terms of the controller, Microsoft has taken a more conservative effort with the Series X. The design remains virtually unchanged from the previous generation, with small additions coming in the form of a share button and a more textured grip for added comfort. It feels nicer to use, but its certainly a case of if it aint broke, dont fix it from Xbox and, in all honesty, who can blame them? All your previous controllers and accessories will work, too!

In terms of other new features, the PS5 is relatively thin on the ground, adopting a moment-to-moment experience that feels very familiar. This is no bad thing, but those hoping for a massive departure might be underwhelmed.

Xbox Game Pass Vs Playstation Now: Quality Of Included Content

This might be highly subjective to a player’s taste, but Xbox Game Pass clearly has the lead when it comes to the quality of the content included in its catalog. While PlayStation may boast an enormous catalog of over 600 experiences, fans are not likely to find the latest and greatest AAA titles anytime around the release. However, fans who missed out on key exclusives such as Bloodborne and The Last of Us certainly have a lot to love.

Xbox Game Pass might have marginally less content available than its direct competitor, but it more than makes up for it with its quality. Xbox Game Pass includes almost every first-party release, which is always great, plus a select few high-value games such as the recently removed Red Dead Redemption 2. In addition to this, many games like Outridersand the upcoming MLB The Show 21 are debuting on the service at launch. Xbox’s recent acquisition of ZeniMax Media, Bethesda’s parent company has also provided a much-appreciated boost to the service alongside the addition of EA Play and rumors regarding future Ubisoft+ inclusion.

Which Console Is The Better Value

Considering you can regularly find the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro priced around the same $350, youre getting more bang for your buck with the Xbox One X. Its more powerful than Sonys offerings and includes a 4K Blu-ray player. The Xbox One also has much better native backward compatibility than the PS4. So, with the purchase of an Xbox One, you can look forward to playing a plethora of original Xbox and Xbox 360 titles.

If youre looking at base model consoles, the Xbox One S also wins out over the PS4 Slim in value, again because of its inclusion of a 4K Blu-ray player.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: The Price

The original Xbox One has been discontinued since 2017, but that hasn’t stopped the Xbox One S from being pretty cheap all the same. Of course, the same can be said for the PS4. It isn’t exactly difficult to find good, well-priced bundles of the two consoles that won’t leave you breaking your bank account in the process.

For example, a PS4 Pro 1TB console bundle that comes with Red Dead Redemption 2, can be yours at only $399. Considering you can buy that console for the same price, with zero games involved, that’s a pretty fine deal as far as we’re concerned.

Of course, if you just want the PS4 slim without the need for the added features of the PS4 Pro, then the PS4 Slim bundle with is also a catch for $320.

But the Xbox One X has more than a fair amount of great deals at a good price too. An Xbox One X 1TB console with Fallout 76 included, all for the price of $399? A bargain!

And if you’d rather play some sports than participate in the world of Fallout, the Xbox One X with NBA 2K19 for the same price is only a click away.

That said, there is a huge difference of price between the Xbox One S and the PS4 Slim, the more regular consoles of the bunch. While you’re able to get a deal for $320 for the PS4 Slim 1TB, you’re able to get a complete starter bundle of the Xbox One S for $250 coming with over 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Passes. That’s a $70 difference!

Is The Playstation Better Than The Xbox One

Sony Playstation vs Microsoft Xbox – Which Is Better – Video Game Console Comparison

Here are five reason why PlayStation is better than Xbox: Yes, Microsofts Xbox One offers applications where you can watch sports, movies, television shows. For example Netflix, Hulu , Watch ESPN, etc. But the PlayStation 4 offers a reliable and affordable cable service, that can be downloaded on the console.

The Most Important Factor When Buying A Refurbished Console

As we said before, most games are available on both of these consoles. I know we didnt really mention any technical specs yet in this article, but to be truthfully honest, we really dont need to. Ever since the beginning, purists have bickered about specs, but to be truthfully honest the two are so similar that theres no point comparing them, because even if there was a winner, it would be by a very thin margin.

The real reason that makes a person choose one console over another is preference. Some people think that Xbox is cooler, while others think that PlayStation is cooler. Neither party is right or wrong, and to be completely honest, theyre both great choices. So check them both out, maybe get a feel for their controllers, and just get whichever one feels right. And whichever one you end up buying, rest assured that youve made the right choice.

Pro Ps: Playstation Gives You More Granular Control Over Data

Its baffling that this is something worth celebrating on a gaming console. Believe it or not, but only Sony lets users get a clear picture of what is taking up space on their hard drives. Obviously, both machines give you some sense of how much space you have available, but only PlayStation surfaces that data in a clear list of applications. Thats a hugely practical feature! If you need to clear out space for a brand new game, its way easier to delete one massive install than a batch of smaller ones. On Xbox One you need to click each game and individually check how much space they are using its a chore. Its not a sexy feature, its a meat and potatoes one something you would expect to have.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Is Ps4 Or Xbox More Powerful

  • The Xbox One X is the most powerful machine, beating out the PS4 Pro

PS4 and Xbox One multiply the power of Xbox 360 and PS3. More importantly, they’re built with smarter internal designs, learning from some of the mistakes of last-generation consoles.

Chip manufacturer AMD is behind most of these upgrades. Both the original Xbox One and the Xbox One S have a custom, 1.75GHz AMD 8-core CPU, while the Xbox One X bumps that up to a 2.3GHz 8-core chip.

The base PS4 CPU remained clocked at 1.6GHz and contains a similar custom AMD 8-core CPU with x86 based architecture, while the PS4 Pro bumps that clock speed up to 2.13GHz.

The original PS4 boasts a 1.84 teraflop GPU that’s based on AMD’s Radeon technology. Meanwhile the original Xbox One graphics chip, also with an AMD Radeon GPU, had a pipeline for 1.31 teraflops, although this increased to 1.4 teraflops with the Xbox One S and to a whopping 6.0 teraflops on the Xbox One X.

The PS4 Pro, meanwhile, has a GPU with a considerably increased 4.2 teraflops of graphical horsepower.

When it came to the original consoles, the PS4 won out in terms of raw power, although the Xbox One S closed the gap considerably.

Microsoft, with the release of the Xbox One X took the title of “most powerful console” from Sony.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X Price How Much Do They Cost

XBox One vs PS4: Which Is Better?

Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are priced at £449/$499 for the standard models, with the digital-only version of Sonys console costing slightly less at £359/$399.

This gives the Japanese company a slight edge, since the offering of physical games is becoming far less prevalent as time goes on, and even then theyll need to be installed to the hard drive much like digital purchases anyway.

You also need to remember the Xbox Series S, which is far cheaper at £249/$299. It isnt nearly as powerful and features half of the SSD storage space, and so comes with its own set of compromises. For what its worth, all of these consoles are cheaper than we expected.

Xbox Vs Ps: Which Should You Buy In 2021

PS4 versus Xbox One S is a fight that’s lasted longer than it should have, especially as the answer to this question is dependent on who you are and what you value the most in your consoles. Do you like exclusive games? Hard-hitting technology? The ability to play your old games? The best specifications that money can buy? There are so many variables that looking into them all would take all day.

Thankfully, that’s why we’re here: to show you the best and worst sides of the PS4 and Xbox One by taking a deeper look at both Sony’s and Microsoft’s consoles, including the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, on their price, console exclusives, hardware, specs, and even their size.

Support For Hulu Live Channels

As many Americans and people across the developed world have, I’ve chosen to ditch my cable contract in favor of a more flexible, cheaper TV option. Specifically Hulu Live Channels. You’d think that with the massive popularity of services such as Hulu and Netflix, you’d assume that an entertainment app would run the same on all platforms. So what’s the problem?

Well, Hulu Live Channels doesn’t run on PS4. The Hulu app does. You can watch your favorite content from Hulu and use it as it was originally created, but when you try to load Hulu Live Channels you are alerted with a message that says that you cannot watch live TV or any on-demand programs that are brought to you by the Live Channels feature. I can only speculate as to why this is but it sucks. As someone who almost exclusively uses their console for TV, Sony makes it really difficult for me and people like me to justify a PS4.

Pro Xbox One: Xbox One Has Faster Ui Iteration

The Xbox One is updated fast and furious. When the console first launched it was a mess. Applications crashed regularly and it was riddled with options that were only accessible through voice command. Within a short window, things were largely fixed. Thats the story of the Xbox Ones user interface: Microsoft fixes problems quickly. In the relatively few years the console has been available, the company has already replaced the UI whole cloth and are already planning another substantial expansion. Remember, this is to compliment near-monthly updates. They also go one step further with an opt-in preview program that lets user have permanent access to a beta version of upcoming revisions.
