The CompetitionXbox Live and PlayStation Network are on equal standing this generation. With PlayStation Plus at an all time high, Microsoft has been trying to keep up with their Games with Gold program, but the titles are rarely better in both quality and value to what you get on PS+.
Playstation 5 Price: Game Bundles
We’re already seeing retailers start to bundle the PS5 with the most popular titles, including FIFA 21, Marvels Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty. Just don’t expect the first bundles to be cheaper than buying a PS5 and a copy of the game separately demand is so high that retailers are unlikely to offer discounts at this stage.;
Beyond games, we’re also seeing the PS5 bundled with other treats and temptations. On the hardware side, there are a a few options to purchase your PS5 with one of the official PS5 accessories such as the DualSense Controller. Sadly the Pulse 3D headset is currently sold out almost everywhere, so there’s no little chance of seeing that in bundle. . Games aside, the PS5 will act as an entertainment hub. Sony has revealed it will come with Netflix,;Disney Plus,;Apple TV,;Spotify, Twitch and YouTube from day one. But, as we recently reported, the PS5 appears to lack both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

It’s also clearly stated by PlayStation as the RRP, or recommended retail price which means its more a suggestion than law. While digitally there’s not much wiggle room there, you might get lucky if you shop around retail. Prices will also likely drop as games get older but it’ll be awhile after launch before that happens.;

At the start of the covid pandemic, many scalpers got the opportunity to turn to new markets in order to make even more money.
This has fundamentally changed how we see the cost of gaming consoles when they first hit the market.
Heres how it works.
A retailer puts up the latest video game console for sale and anyone with access to the website can purchase it for its retail value.
Scalpers use advanced software to quickly go through purchases and then buy up all of the consoles that they can.
They then resell them on other websites for a premium price.
Some scalpers were even getting triple the value for PlayStation 5 consoles early in their release cycle.
Covid has caused a lot of economic uncertainty and unemployment.
Individuals who formerly made their money reselling clothing and other items have turned to video game consoles as a way to keep making money.
This has naturally shifted how much these video game consoles are going to cost not just for now, but for years to come.
Now that scalpers know that new release video game consoles are a great return on investment, theyre going to be more likely to continue buying them during the early release in the future.
This means that the next generation of consoles is going to face the same price speculation and early release hikes as the PS5 did.

How Good Is Ps5’s 3d Tempest Audio
If you head into the PS5 settings, you can adjust the 3D audio to suit your preference. There are five levels of height to choose from, so select the option that sounds closest to your ear level. Remember that 3D audio works on any headset, either wirelessly or when plugged into the DualSense controller.;
The PS5’s 3D Tempest Audio is Sony’s take on Dolby Atmos, or spatial audio in general. It works on any headset, with support for TV speakers coming set to arrive sometime in the near future .
We’ve tested various spatial audio solutions in the past, ranging from Windows Sonic to Dolby Atmos, and we’ve found that PS5’s 3D Audio is a comparable experience overall, though it isnt quite the revelation we hoped it might be.
We enjoyed hearing ships fly past and over our head in Astro’s Playroom, and appreciated being able to pick out thugs that were closing in on us in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It’s not as detailed or as realistic as Sony made out, though, at least not at this stage, and it will be up to developers to get the most out of the technology as it matures.;
Returnal has shown that 3D audio can be a powerful tool when it comes to immersion, and that it can also be beneficial in fast-paced games where audio cues are just as important as what you see on screen. Its the best implementation of the technology yet, and we hope Sony continues to support it.;
Cost Of Building A Pc In Australia
Building a PC that can accomplish the same as the PS5 and Xbox Series X is a bit complicated, and theres a couple of reasons why.
Firstly,;consoles are traditionally sold at a loss. That doesnt mean retailers like JB Hi-Fi are losing money on the consoles, but Sony and Microsoft famously sell them at a loss to recoup more money on games, services and these days, microtransactions.;That doesnt happen in the PC world, so theres a higher margin on every individual piece of tech.
So to do this fairly, Im going to spec out a couple of systems. The first is a PC matching how much you would spend on the Xbox Series X or the PS5 over three years. You could just build a PC around the upfront cost, but part of the PC platform is bearing an upfront cost for a longer-term benefit, so I think its fairer and more realistic to build it out that way.
The second PC will be one that can match the current capabilities of the new consoles. For this, Im targeting something that can hit 1440p/120FPS or 4K/120 FPS in esports titles . This also matches the reality for the PS5 and Xbox Series X: they dont hit a locked 120 FPS at 4K anyway, but its also still very early days for developers.

The PlayStation 5 is one of the most expensive gaming consoles weve seen in years.
These consoles are also out of stock almost everywhere online.
If you do manage to find a PS5 for sale, its going to be marked up by resellers.
There have been PlayStation 5s that have sold for well over $1,000.
In fact, this rush for PS5s has even driven the PS4 back up to prices it hasnt seen since its release.
Lets take a look at whats driving these prices so high and how you can get a PS5 for its retail cost.
Seven: Disc Drive Or Digital
The discussion around an optical disc drive for the PS5 revolves around the core concept that games have always been a physical thing. Weve become more and more comfortable with digital downloads, which is leading people to believe the PS5 may ditch discs altogether. This assumption was wrong. The PS5 will include a disc drive, or it wont. There are two models to choose from.
Blu-Ray sales have been falling in recent years, and experts have declared them a dying format, but there doesnt seem to be any rush to replace them. That hasnt stopped new technologies from emerging though. Blu-Rays can hold up to 50 gigabytes, but were going to need more space for PS5 games.
Sony and Panasonic are developing a new replacement for Blu-Ray discs. The idea is to fight back against the rise of streaming content. These discs can hold more than 100 gigabytes a piece, which doubles the storage potential. Again though, we run into issues when games grow in size. Are we looking at a return to the days of multiple discs for longer games? The other option is, of course, digital downloads or streaming.
Sony has already been working on this with a service known as PlayStation Now. This is a digital streaming service where you can rent or buy games and play them over an internet connection. Its not perfect, nor is it immensely popular in comparison to physical discs, but it does show Sonys interest in the format.

Streaming Video Services And Other Apps
Of course, game consoles can do more than just provide your thumbs with something to do – modern consoles are also full-on streaming video players. ;
Right now, you’ll find over a dozen supported streaming services on the PS5 including most major services like Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Peacock and Apple TV, as well as a few more niche services like Twitch, Funimation, NFL Sunday Ticket, ESPN, Vudu, Tubi, WWE Network and Crunchyroll.;
The selection here isn’t as big as you’d find on, say, a Roku streaming player, but it should be enough for most folks.
The bad news is that not all of these apps will be available to stream in 4K/HDR: Netflix and Amazon Prime are, at the very least, but it doesn’t appear that Disney Plus or Apple TV offer 4K/HDR streaming quite yet.
The worse news is that, as it stands, there’s no support anywhere on the console for Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision. We thought we might see them appear on launch day, but neither materialized and Sony appears to be shunning the popular HDR and audio formats for now.
What that means, unfortunately, is that the PS5 is really only a middling media player – it can’t best dedicated streamers like the Nvidia Shield, , Apple TV 4K or the new Roku Ultra, and isn’t the console we’d recommend to our cinephile friends looking to host movie night with the highest fidelity films.

No, and its an easy mistake to make particularly as Sony regularly refers to its storage as just SSD. Regular SSDs rely on SATA, which is a far slower way of transferring data within a system. An SSD is still much faster than a regular mechanical hard drive , but its speeds pale in comparison to an NVMe SSD.

Three: Hard Drive Or The Cloud

- Third-party drives will work internally as well, but specific ones have yet to be named.

Sony has been confirmed that the PS5 will come with a SSD which will improve load times dramatically. In their demo it decreased the load time by over 15 times!
When Mark Cerny traveled to visit with developers, a vast majority of them asked for a solid-state drive in the new system. To make this new storage work, Sony has to create a custom design, which is why we get the odd 825GB capacity.

Ps5 Bundles: What To Expect In The Future
We now have more of an idea about what PS5 bundles may look like once that stock settles down, and both FIFA and NBA look like a solid bets for the first few waves of bundles. We’d also look to the season regulars for a safe bet as well, with the likes of Call of Duty consistently occupying bundles, so expect to see to make its way into a few PS5 bundles. We wouldn’t expect to see these bundles until the holiday season, stock issues permitting, however.
Plus, stock permitting, we may also see more accessories included in PS5 bundles later this year. While we’re not likely to see many major discounts, flash sales might offer up a few dollars off an extra controller if we’re lucky.

What About Ps5 Bundles And Deals
We’ve only seen one official PS5 bundle and that was with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and that was limited to a release in the UK and EU only with no sign of it in the US. This didn’t offer any sort of discount though, so it’s not like anyone was missing out.
Other PS5 bundles created by retailers have appeared. Usually with extra games, controllers, and other accessories. However, we don’t really recall seeing many offering any sort of discount – you’d easily be able to buy the extra items for less individually elsewhere. These bundles are essentially taking advantage of the huge demand for stock and getting even more money from a sale. Some retailers have even bundled the PS5 with more bizarre items like PC monitors, often at what are clearly inflated prices for often very average pieces of tech. Sadly, even these deals are still selling out.
Suffice to say, retailers have been very busy over the last few months. And after everything we’ve seen recently, there’s more than enough reason to consider picking up the PS5. For starters, all the upcoming PS5 games are shaping up to be something special. Secondly, the system’s blindingly fast loading times improve the user experience by leaps and bounds even on older PS4 games.
