Argos has updated its PS5 store page with a message telling customers: “Sorry, PlayStation 5 is currently unavailable. We will not have any further stock for the rest of 2020”. Smyths Toys has attached a similar note to its PS5 product page, informing gamers that the toy superstore wont be expecting any more PS5 stick until January 2021.
A representative for ASDA took to Twitter to tell shoppers that it too is out of the PS5 selling game until 2021, so dont expect to pick up a PS5 alongside your Christmas turkey this year.

Currently, no retailer has confirmed they will have additional stock before Christmas. However, Sony did promise in late November that retailers would have an additional allocation of the console before the year was out.
Over the last few weeks since that announcement a couple of retailers have had small stock drops, but nothing major which potentially signifies that a larger drop of stock is still to come in before the year is out.

The best chance to get a new PlayStation 5 for most people is by waiting until online retailers come up with stock, and even then it takes luck.
Sony has completed the step into the next generation of gaming with the launch of the PlayStation 5. He said: A technology war is being waged between people making bots to snatch highly desirable items like the PS5 and specialists trying to prevent them.
These bots, known as scalper bots, continuously monitor websites for products that are limited in stock.
The moment they become available, the bot has the users payment details ready to go, to secure the items within milliseconds, making it near impossible for a human to compete.
Many are then sold on with the intention of turning a profit via sites such as eBay, costing considerably more than their original price. The practice is not illegal, but while the issue is not new, it is gaining more awareness.
As long as there is increased demand for the consoles, there is likely to be bots snatching them up.

The difference is Walmart doesn’t have the console in stock right now, it’s instead pushing the delivery date out a week or more knowing how many will be in its warehouse eventually. It’s possible, if Walmart can guarantee a steady supply, the PS5 restock situation will start to look similar soon.

This $139 yearly subscription comes with many perks, from free fast shipping and free Prime Video content to access to Prime Day deals. Walmart has also restricted PlayStation5 restocks to Walmart+ members. The service, which costs $98 per year or $12.94 per month, also offers free, same-day delivery from your local Walmart store , member prices on gas and money off on certain prescriptions.
Besides offering its members exclusive access to product launches and restocks, the Best Buy Totaltech comes with a few other perks that make it worth the price.
