Not only does Focus help heal Spider-Man during battle, but full Focus charges allow him to execute Finisher moves that can take enemies down with a single badass cutscene. Later in the game, a number of abilities stack very nicely to give the player more and more focus.
On the plus side, the Advanced Suit is also more or less the default suit for the story. I found myself putting it on every time I did a story mission because it felt disrespectful to the canon to do otherwise, right?

Talk to any web-head about Spider-Man games, and a single title comes up: 2004’s Spider-Man 2. The Story Looks Intense
Details on the game’s story have been pretty scarce. We know Spider-man has been in the hero game for a few years, and that Negative Man is one of the primary villains — but what’s actually at stake in the game hasn’t been made clear. We do know, at least, that it’ll be action packed! In a new story trailer released during San Diego Comic-con 2018, we see Spider-man swinging through explosions, in life-and death struggles with super-villains and and dropping vague references to how the entire city needs his help. The stakes are high. Whatever they are.

The Green Goblin And Venom Backstory
It goes without saying that weâre about to delve into some pretty heavy SPOILERS for the series in this section, so those who donât want the added context might want to skip ahead. However, if youâve played through both games, there are a few critical details worth recapping before getting to the bulk of our theory.
As past players may recall, the post-credits scenes of Spider-Man and Miles Morales alike offer brief insight on Norman Osborneâs attempts to cure his ailing son Harry by any means necessary. The cutscenes show Harry submerged in bright green liquid, in a lab full of genetically altered spiders that Norman hopes might be the miracle his fractured family needs. But Harryâs body is also smothered in black, gooey tendrils reminiscent of the Venom Symbiote.
While thereâs a lot we canât possibly know about the story that comes next, the general assumption is that both the Green Goblin and Venom will feature into the plot somehow â or that Harry will somebody be a fusion of the two.
After all, Mary Jane Warson finds Green Goblin mask and grenade prototypes while scouring Osborneâs apartment, and that colored fluid is more than a little suggestive of the character.
The running theory most fans have adopted is that, in their research, Norman and his fellows accidentally create the Symbiote, a parasitic being with the power to alter the mind of its host.

Insomniac’s new take on Spider-Man is all new which is to say that it’s not directly connected to any Spider-Man story told in past video-games or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When it was announced, however, there was some confusion: the E3 2016 reveal took place just a month after Tom Holland wore the Spidey-suit in Captain America: Civil War.
This version of Spidey may not be connected to the MCU, but Polygon reports that he will be integrated into the comics continuity in the upcoming “Spidergeddon” even, a follow-up to 2014’s popular Spider-Verse storyline.

Sony’s messaging for Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been confusing, to say the least, with fans and press alike initially unsure whether the game was DLC, a standalone title, or a sequel. And the latest confusion is caused by the remaster, which is includes the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for PS5.
The Spider-Man remaster sees the original PS5 game enhanced and remastered for the PS5, and includes all three DLC chapters in the Marvels Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps adventure.
However, it was initially unclear whether PS4 Spider-Man players would be given the option to upgrade to the remaster on PS5, but Sony has now confirmed that they can’t. Well, not directly anyway.

Swinging Isnt Always The Answer
Hanging from a web and swinging in a big long arc is great for getting some distance, and you can even make it pretty fast if you use our advice above, but its not the fastest way Spider-Man can travel. This is where Point Launch and the Point Launch Boost skills come in.
Point Launching is when you use your webs to zip to a point usually the corner of a building or a lamppost. These points are indicated on your screen by a small white circle. If you hit L2 and R2 at the same time, youll use both hands to throw out webs and then perch on the point youre aiming at. You can even hold down L2 first to slow down time and aim more carefully.

Insomniac says Peter Parker’s origin story isn’t part of the new game in fact, it’s ancient history. In Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4, our hero is 23 years old, and has been swinging through through downtown New York City for about eight years.
Its All About The Suit
You can spend tokens on upgrading your gadgets, but the upgrades to your Spider-Suit might be more important. There are a host of new suits you can buy in Spider-Man, and while the suits themselves dont matter theyre all cosmetic the suit powers that come with them really do. Most of the suits have a special ability tuned to it that can give you an edge in battle or in other situations. You can also mix and match suits and abilities once youve unlocked them, so youre not stuck using the Stealth Suit to get its ability.
You can equip up to three Suit Mods that you unlock with tokens as well. These are passive buffs, meaning you dont need to activate them to get their benefits, unlike suit powers. They are handy game-changers, doing things like reducing incoming damage or making Spider-Man harder to detect while hes stealthing. Their benefits stack, too, so if youve got two mods for damage reduction, you get double the benefit. Theyre worth the effort to unlock.
The last thing you need to know about suits, suit powers, and suit mods is that you can change them around at literally any time just by popping open the menu. Having the right suit power and mods for the situation can really help you in battle.

You might not be able to web those guys, but you can electrocute them with your Electric Webs and thrown-back grenades. Try to remove the most dangerous threats first, like whip enemies that can take you out of the air. Stunning them can make them easy to deal with quickly.

Well, if you find yourself in a bit of a tight spot in combat, and need Spider-Man to heal, you may be wondering exactly what you need to do to have his health gauge start filling back up.
Your health bar, first and foremost, can be found in the top left-hand corner of the screen in Spider-Man PS4. Just below this, youll see a smaller gauge that fills up as you string together combos.
This is your Focus gauge, and this plays an important part in how to heal in Spider-Man PS4.
As you chain combos together, youll begin filling up your Focus gauge. If you need to start filling up your Focus gauge that little bit quicker, hold down Square when attacking an enemy to send them flying into the air.
Then, continue to press Square in order to perform an aerial combo. These will fill up your Focus gauge faster in Spider-Man PS4 than just a standard combo on the ground.
At any point, you can essentially drain your gauge and heal health in Spider-Man PS4 by pressing down on the d-pad to restore some health.
