Speed Up Ps4 Downloads With A Proxy Server
If you’re still unsatisfied with the speed of your PS4 downloads, you can set up a proxy server on your laptop or desktop computer to aid the process.
Download and install the proxy server software on your computer. Windows users can try CCProxy for free Mac users can try Squidman.
Launch your proxy server and obtain its IP and port numbers. If you’re using CCProxy, this information can be found in the options menu.
Set up a new internet connection on your PS4. Navigate to Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection > Use Wi-FI > Custom, then select your router.
Select either Automatic or Do Not Specify for everything until you reach the Proxy Server page.
Enter your proxy server’s IP and port number.
Your PS4 will now use your computer as a proxy server, which should result in faster downloads.
With this setup, your PS4 will only be able to connect to the internet via your proxy server. Therefore, you may want to reconfigure your settings when you’re done downloading large files.

Sony, not wanting loyal fans to miss out on major exclusives to come, has confirmed that some of the biggest PS5 games to be released will also be cross-gen on PS4. Although clearly not as powerful as its younger brother, the hardware released in 2013 is not negligent in terms of delivering beautiful graphics, something that ‘Gran Turismo 7‘ is ‘God of War: Ragnarok‘ will certainly put it to the test when they also arrive on PS4 in 2022.
Check Individual Game Settings
While most console games don’t have the extensive options that PC titles offer, some of them let you change options that can affect how a game runs .
Battlefield V, for example, lets you change the FOV so you can see more of the game world without turning your character’s view. You may also have options to disable VSync and other graphical tools.
While not available across every game, tweaking these options can sometimes make a game feel more comfortable for you.

By default, your games will show up on the home screen carousel in order of when you last downloaded or played them. This standard system can get bothersome come PlayStation Plus time each month. Just because you downloaded a new game, that doesnt mean you want to play it right away. Eventually, the games you have actually been playing slink all the way to the end of the carousel or worse, they get bumped out of the carousel altogether.
It sounds pretty basic, but one quick way to stay on top of the games you are playing is to always keep them in the first few slots. If Destiny 2 starts to slide, but new content for it is coming soon, simply open and close the game to move it up to the front of the batch. You dont even have to play by simply opening the application, it will shift the game to the top of your list. You should also know that any physical disc you have in the system will always be at the top of the carousel after you boot up the system, even if it wasnt the last game you played.

A few weeks before launching Skorecery, we had our production version approved and ready to go. Naturally, we were doing a ton of testing to try to find any issues. We found a doozie. Somehow, the game could get into a state where the player would experience about 0.3 seconds of lag every time they collided with the ball.
In cases like this, the hardest part is usually reproducing the issue in the first place. I was struggling to reproduce the lag. It didnt appear in the Unity editor, only on the PS4, and it clearly wasnt consistent. Even when I did finally reproduce the lag, I couldnt determine the root cause. Then I got lucky and happened to unlock a Trophy. It all clicked for me, and I realized that the lag must be caused by the way were tracking statistics. After investigating, I found that we were synchronously saving stats to the disk and synchronously attempting to unlock Trophies.
The solution was simple: sprinkle asynchronous calls in place of the synchronous ones. I also took the opportunity to simplify the conditions under which we check for those Trophy unlocks, so it isnt happening all the time. Ultimately, the lag produced by this bug made the game completely unplayable, and a quick, easy solution saved us from a disastrous launch.

The larger the original download, the longer it will take for the PS4 copying update file to complete.
