Eventually, the games you have actually been playing slink all the way to the end of the carousel or worse, they get bumped out of the carousel altogether.

It sounds pretty basic, but one quick way to stay on top of the games you are playing is to always keep them in the first few slots. If Destiny 2 starts to slide, but new content for it is coming soon, simply open and close the game to move it up to the front of the batch. You dont even have to play by simply opening the application, it will shift the game to the top of your list. You should also know that any physical disc you have in the system will always be at the top of the carousel after you boot up the system, even if it wasnt the last game you played.

Fortunately, the PS4 does offer the feature to hide any and every game in your library that you want. If you wish to hide games youve already beaten, or youre just trying to get a little bit more organized, all it takes is a few simple steps to clean up your PS4 library. In addition to hiding games from your library, you can also modify your activity feed, in case you want to have a bit more privacy when gaming.

Prune Your Games Library

If you scroll to the far-right of the games list on your PS4 home screen, you’ll find your Library. This holds all of the games and apps on your PlayStation 4.

If you’ve had a PS4 for some time, this is probably bogged down by betas and demos from years ago. Even a library full of the best PS4 exclusives will become unruly if you don’t play them any more.

Adding Content To Your Folders

Once your folder is named, you see a Content field. Choose the Select button and youll see a list of all your installed games and apps put a tick against whatever you want to add and hit Confirm.

To add content to an already existing folder, choose a game either from your home screen or from your Library, press the Options button, choose Add to folder and select one of your existing folders from the list.

Speaking of notifications, the PS4 sends a lot of them by default that you probably don’t care about. You can clean these up pretty easily by opening the Notifications tab on the home screen. Once there, press Triangle and you can delete any old notifications you’d like. Next, press Options and choose Notification Settings.

Here, you can change the notification color, disable them when watching videos, and choose to hide the message content. However, the most valuable tool is Pop-Up Notifications, which lets you stop notifications that you don’t want from arriving in the first place.

On this page, uncheck any notification types you don’t want to see. We recommend removing When Friends Join a Party, as these can be frequent and not that useful.
