Psn Wallets Are Only For Master Accounts On Ps4

What does that mean? I know it sounds slightly confusing. What it means, from what I gathered while reading the new Terms of Service yesterday, is that only the Master Account will have a PSN wallet and any Sub Account holders that wish to make purchases on the PS Store will need to use the funds from the Master Account wallet.

As stated in the Terms of Service, All transactions made by the Sub Account or the Master Account must be made through the Master Accounts wallet. A Sub Account does not have a separate wallet. Master Accounts can set a maximum spending amount for each Sub Account, effective at the beginning of the following month. Therefore, Sub Accounts are allowed to make purchases but the money has to come from the Master Accounts wallet. Its also convenient that the Master Account could set into place a limit to the Sub Accounts spending so that Sub Account holders wont take advantage of the money thats there, as well as effectively holding on to some money that might be in the wallet for a reason.

Money coming from one source, granting a limit/allowance Times are changing for PSN users. How do you feel about this change? Is it a positive one? Do you think its unfair? Let us know in the comments.

How To Check Your Playstation Network Account Age

How To Link EA Account To PS4

Before you proceed to change your PS4 account age, make sure that you confirm if your age is indeed incorrect. Unfortunately, Sony no longer provides the age on the account for security reasons. While this is not a problem for most, especially those who put in the correct information in the first place, it can be quite a headache if you are locked out of your Sony account or any Sony services like a PlayStation Network account as you can be locked out of your account forever if you cant prove your identity using your birth date.

As your PSN account does not show your age or birth date in your account management page, the only to check your PlayStation Network account age is by going to account.sonymobile.com. This is the same site where you can change your birthdate as well. Well show you the steps below.

In order to avoid future inconvenience, we highly recommend that you enter the correct age or birthdate when creating your account.

Ps4 Sub Account Restrictions Are A Serious Issue That Needs To Be Addressed Already

Alex Machado / February 27, 2014

If youre like me, you made the fatal error of registering a Sub Account when you were younger, an account cursed with content restrictions specifically created for users under the age of 18 that is always associated with a Master Account empowered with Parental Control. Worse yet, you may have kept the account as your main when you first purchased a PlayStation 3 and continually functioned from it as you grew older. Sure, I could be blamed for doing this in my youthful ignorance, not foreseeing the inevitable consequences to come, but is it right to be punished in the long run for following the Community Code of Conduct and staying true to my age? The fact is I was 16 and jobless, I had no method of payment other than physical cash on my person, and my father too was a moderate gamer who created a Master Account under his name. Like most avid gamers, I wanted my own cool username with my own cool avatar, and later on, my own cool set of trophies to gawk at and relish over.

Scurry for answers at the page break.

Currently there are a handful of account promotion petitions circling the Web that you can find and sign, some of which are on the PlayStation Blog, , and other numerous outlets. In all honesty, Sony should have addressed the problem years ago, and now its carrying over to the next generation, leaving a population of the PlayStation user base between a rock and a hard place.

  • How To Set Parental Controls On Ps4 And Ps4 Pro

    By, Henry T. Caseypublished 9 March 18

All you need to set up the PS4 or PS4 Pro’s parental controls are a few minutes and a hard-to-guess passcode in mind.

Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro aim to be entertainment centers for the whole family, but that means that not every piece of content is appropriate for every age group, nor does it mean kids should have unfettered access to the console at all hours of the day.

If you have younger members in your household and don’t want them to get their hands on R-rated movies or M-rated games, you’ll probably want to set up your PS4’s parental controls. All you need are a few minutes and a hard-to-guess passcode in mind. Whether you have a regular PS4 or the 4K-capable PS4 Pro, you can follow the exact same steps to protect your kids from adult content. Here’s how to set up parental controls on the PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro:

    1. Access the Parental Controls menu. The first step is to scroll up on the PS4’s home screen, scroll over to the right and select Settings.

From here, click on Parental Controls.

On the Parental Controls screen, you’ll have two options: Restrict Use of PS4 Features and Sub Account Management. Select Sub Accounts first, unless you want to restrict content on your PS4 for all users . Sub Accounts are also called Family Accounts, depending on your version of the PlayStation 4 firmware.

Have your child select his or her language and date of birth.

How Often Can You Change Your Age On Your Ps4 Account

Sony only allows you to change your age ONCE. And changing your age for your PSN account is NOT even permitted.

If you want to change your age, youll have to go to Sonymobile.com page so you can modify your birthdate. This change is reflected across all Sony services such as your Sony account for your Xperia phone and other consoles. This also applies to your Sony account even if you created it on another device.

Child Account Wanting To Access All Contents In Ps Store

It can be very frustrating for a 17-year old who wants to download or play mature-rated games from the PlayStation Store due to content restrictions. Or if you are a parent whos is constantly bothered by your children to allow them to play certain games that are otherwise restricted for their age range, you may want to change their date of birth on their account so you can upgrade them to an adult account.

As you can see, child accounts must be tied to an adult account so if you dont want that setup, you can either change your parental control settings, or change their age on their PSN account.

S To Add Funds To A Child Account On Playstation

  • Select the Options icon.
  • For more information on how to set spending limits, see Set Spending Limits on Child Accounts.

As you can see, you cannot create a separate independent PlayStation wallet for your child to use. For the time being, Sony does not support this feature. The sub-account actually draws money from the master account.

    As Sony explains:

Child accounts do not have a wallet. Children can purchase content and services by using their family managers wallet.

Perhaps Sony will introduce independent wallets in the future. In this manner, master account owners can separate their purchases from the ones made by other family members.

Always set spending limits on Child Accounts

Always prevent your kid from having access to buy whatever games they want with your credit card. Setting up a monthly limit for your kid is crucial is you dont want to have any unpleasant surprises.

Take all the precautions measures you can to avoid seeing your kids game spending go through the roof. Games are fun and kids like to try as many new titles and possible. But this can quickly drain your card.

If you want to completely eliminate that risk, here are some alternative methods to add funds to your kids PlayStation account.

Having a common wallet makes it a bit harder to track what each user does with the funds.

Primary Ps4 + Sub Account Question

Hello,I’m a bit confused over whether or not Season Pass content is available for both PS4 primary & sub-accounts. If I were to purchase the season pass or “Gold Edition” for that matter using my PS4 Primary account, will that be available to the sub-account player?I don’t intend on playing it myself – so, is it possible that I purchase it, download it, and then my sub-account PSN player just sets up the game with their own Uplay ID / email and the content is available to them and them only? The Gold Edition is the version we’re looking to purchase.

I know a season pass is not available to anyone other than the account that purchased the item. But..now..a Gold Edition, or greater, is something I’ve never seen brought up. I guess we need a Mod to shed some light?
