Functionality With Video Apps
Beyond using blu-rays, media files, and Netflix, the remote does indeed work on apps like YouTube, Hulu, and Crackle, but with a catch. The buttons don’t do what you would expect them to. This is less of an oversight on the remote’s part, and more of an issue with the apps themselves. They would need to be updated to support this new remote before it would work properly.
Something like Netflix is used to working with remotes, but YouTube, Hulu, and Crackle are new to the console world. If you’re buying this to use solely for those apps, you may want to reconsider, just a fair warning. I also tried playing games with it, but it won’t let you launch a game. Instead it asks you connect a DualShock 4.
In terms of the remote itself, it’s very lightweight. It doesn’t feel cheap at all, but it’s lighter than I expected. The remote itself is also very skinny, with extremely small buttons compared to my other remotes. This made it difficult to hit buttons during the programming process. There’s also no lights on the buttons like many remotes, so jumping between PS4, TV, and your sound system could be difficult in the dark.

How To Sync Additional Ps4 Controllers Wirelessly
Once you have at least one controller synced with your system, you can add more wirelessly:
With your synced controller, locate the Settings option in the row of icons above the PS4 home menu, represented by an icon that looks like a briefcase.

Growing pains aside, once the remote is hooked up, it responds beautifully and lets you do just about anything you want on the PS4 involving blu-rays, media files, or Netflix. Anything beyond that, and you’re going to run into issues .

How To Program It To Other Devices
First, turn your TV/cable/audio device on and keep the remote pointed at the device throughout the process. Then, you want to hold down the green power button plus the button on the remote indicating the device you wish to program . A red light will flash shortly after letting you know it is searching. If re-pairing the controller doesnt work, the issue might be with the controller itself and not the PS4. In that case, youll need to reset the controller. Youll need an unfolded paper clip with which to push a hidden button on your PS4 to reset it.
Turn off your PS4 and unplug both it and your internet router or modem so that your controller wont receive any network signals when you reset it. When thats done, flip the controller over and look for a small hole on the right side. Push the paperclip in the hole and push the button inside for three to five seconds. Its best to hold it down for a count of 10 to be sure.

After installing the remote play software to the laptop, all you have to do is simply start the program, connect your PlayStation 4 controller, and link it up with your PS4. Well before all that there is one thing that has to be done, which is a bit of a messing around with the settings. Currently, there are three image quality options and two framerate ones. The setting I used was 720P and standard framerate .

The one issue that was present is that in instances where a quick turn, or sudden jumps the game would lag a tiny bit, it is barely noticeable, but it is there.

If your pairing issues arent related to power or your cable, you might need to reset your PlayStation controller, and your factory reset your PlayStation 4 to pair it again. If youve got a controller that still works, you can do that in the PS4s Settings menu. Its on the home screen on the far-right side, represented by a Suitcase icon.
Navigate down to the Devices menu, and then choose Bluetooth Devices.
