So you want to sync your Fortnite progress to an Epic Account so you can carry it over to PS4? Here’s how to do it in steps:
- Visit the official Fortnite site: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/.
- Hit ‘login’ at the top right of the page.
- You will be asked ‘Do you already play Fortnite?’. Respond ‘Yes’.
- Choose the ‘Nintendo Switch’ icon.
- A new page will open requesting you to log in to your Nintendo Account. Do so, as this will allow Epic to access your Switch progress.
- Next, you’ll have to create an Epic Account. Fill in the form.
- If successful, you should be prompted to validate the email address you provided. Head to your inbox, find the email, and follow the link to validate it.

Your PS4, Xbox Live, PC and Nintendo Switch Fortnite accounts can now be unified. If you’re patient.
Have a Fortnite account on your PlayStation 4? You can finally merge it with your Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch or mobile account, GameSpot reports. But it isn’t easy.
When Fortnite became one of the most popular games on the planet, Sony found itself with a problem. The PlayStation 4 version of the game existed in a walled garden — not only locking it off from online play with Xbox Live, PC and Nintendo Switch players, but forcing PS4 users to maintain a separate Fortnite account, too.
Eventually, Sony relented and opened up multiplayer cross-play between PS4 players, and gamers on Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch — but the accounts were still separated. This meant that any progress made on the PS4 version of the game didn’t carry over to other platforms, including skin unlocks, Battle Pass progress or V-Bucks.
Now, Fortnite’s publisher Epic Games has introduced an account merge tool that unifies all of your game progress across all platforms — giving you a single login for every version of Fortnite across PC, PS4, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch and mobile. Unfortunately, the process can take up to two weeks, and it’s a little cumbersome.
With a little patience, however, you could soon have all of your Fortnite victories housed in a single, unified account that can be used on every platform. And that’s all anybody wanted anyway.
How To Link Your Playstation Network Account To Your Epic Account
In a word, DON’T. Read this first. Epic Games recommends creating a new Epic account for each platform from which you play: PC, Xbox, and Playstation.
STEP 1: Visit the Fortnite Website.
STEP 2: If you’re already logged into an account, SIGN OUT.
STEP 3: Click the Sign In button at the top right of the page.
STEP 4: Click “Sign In With Playstation” and log in using your **Playstation Network credentials.** When you played on console, Epic created a temporary epic account for you based on your PSN credentials, and signing in will allow you to promote it to a full Epic account.
STEP 5: Once logged in, you will be asked to Register. In order to link the account, you will need to use an Email Address *and* Display Name that are NOT being used on another Epic account.
Bear in mind that all of your save data is tied to your Epic account that your PSN name is linked to.
Once you’ve created your new Epic account , you can return to Fortnite Scout and view your console stats with your new Epic username.

How To Link Your Gaming System With An Epic Account Via A Code
The above method is the most traditional way for console and mobile players to sync their progress. If youre a PC player looking to add another device to their ecosystem, however, theres an alternative way of doing this.
When you first launch Fortnite on any console, including next-gen, youll be prompted with a warning telling you that you can link your progress through your existing Epic Games account. Clicking on Link an Account will forward to you a new page featuring a code and timer on the bottom of your screen.
Youll need a second device to complete this step in the easiest way possible since youll need to navigate to epicgames.com/activate. If youre already logged in, the screen where youll enter code should appear, but youll need to log in with your Epic Account, otherwise.
Upon entering the code, your gaming device will detect your progress through your Epic account, and your beloved character should appear on your screen as a result. This method is usually referred to as the slower way of doing things, and it works pretty much the same on platforms that Fortnites available other than PC.
Though the next-gen consoles havent hit the market just yet, this method should also apply to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Considering Fortnite will be available on the next-gen consoles at launch, it may be a good time to sync your progress with a PlayStation Network/Xbox Live account to make sure you can switch devices in case of server issues during the launch period.
