Weve finally seen movement of PS5 consoles at GameStop as of Friday, September 3, according to our exclusive sources. This means we could see another restock next week, with GameStop recently choosing Tuesday at 11am EDT for its biggest orders.
Game Stop is where the Twitter followers of Matt Swider have seen the most success of any retailer. Why? Because GameStop requires a $15 a year membership fee for first access and forces you to buy bundles.
This prevents resellers from buying all of the PS5 inventory, a problem we see time and time again at Walmart and Best Buy during every restock. So while you may pay around $750 for the PS5 Disc bundle with three games, an extra controller, and a gift card, it may be worth it if youre a gamer and are desperate to find the PS5.

Heres how to use the Best Buy Toggle Trick to purchase a PS5 from the retailer:
- Firstly, youll need to download and log in to the Best Buy app. Sign up if you dont already have an account.
- Search for the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition on the app.
- Next, at the top of the search page, there will be a toggle that says In stock at . Toggle this on and off.

Best Buy does in fact have PS5 inventory, according to our sources. The retailer has been all over the place with restock dates, yet we can report that it has generally has favored Thursdays or Fridays in recent weeks. The Best Buy restock time has also been very sporadic in 2021. The one takeaway is that it recently paired the PS5 with Ratchet & Clank PS5, a bundle that hints a restock may happen tomorrow.
Walmart has consistently done a PS5 restock on Thursdays, though we always warn it’s not every Thursday. Apparently, this week. Every Walmart restock has been at or around 3pm EDT . Last week they did an odd thing in that very little new stock of PS5 Digital launched at 3:10am on Thursday. Only a few people got it.
Newegg had a PS5 bundle with Destruction All-Stars and MLB The Show as part of the bundle. It’s always a lottery with the Newegg Shuffle, so you’re never guaranteed to get it, but you also don’t have to constantly try to add it to your cart. Newegg also has a massive RTX GPU restock this week.
GameStop has a PS5 restock three out of the last four Wednesdays last week was a short week due to Memorial Day, so very few retailers in the US had the Sony console in stock. We didn’t see a GameStop restock this Wednesday either, but it could still happen this week.
Other retailers being tracked by Matt Swider include Amazon , Costco, Sam’s Club and Newegg, as well as the aforementioned Target, which has low inventory numbers.

If youre looking for the PS5 at MSRP, check Best Buy for a PS5 stock. It hasnt done a restock exclusive to Totaltech members in a few weeks it really needs to justify that $199 annual fee it lured its most loyal customers into buying during Black Friday.
PS5 demand continues in 2022, while supply remains low. The Series X restock events havent been as hard to find in stock . PS5 hype hasnt slowed down as much as new hardware like the PSVR 2 headset just got announced and Sonys roster of PS5 games for 2022 is strong.

Walmart Best Buy And Target Are Your Best Bet For Ps5 Restocks This Week
PS5 restock opportunities have slowed in recent weeks after a flurry of activity at the start of the year. Things are a little tough right now – we didn’t see any retailers offering more PS5 stock last week, for example. The big guns look ready to fire, though. Walmart, Best Buy, and Target are all well overdue a PS5 restock and now that we’re past the first week of the month, things could get heated.
Walmart‘s last round of PS5 restocks took place in mid-April, and considering we usually see one drop per month here, we’d recommend starting your engines. Of course, any stock that does appear will be reserved for Walmart Plus members. The good news is we’ll receive fair warning of any developments at Walmart. Unlike other retailers, this store regularly advertises its PS5 restocks days in advance. Keep your eyes peeled on those product pages for more information, then.
Best Buy last sold the PS5 on April 21, two weeks ago. That means we’d recommend watching for movement here on Thursday and Friday, at any time between 10am ET and 5pm ET.
