Android devices running Android 7 or later can play PS Remote Play games using on-screen controls. Devices running Android 10 or higher can connect to a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller via Bluetooth4. The DualSense wireless controller is supported on Android devices running Android 12 or later5.

To check what Android devices support DualSense and DUALSHOCK 4 controller drivers, please consult your device’s manufacturer.

Option 2 Overview: Using Ds4windows & Vigembus Driver

Use this option if you are NOT within Bluetooth range of your PS4 or PS5 console. You will instead connect your DS4 controller via Bluetooth to your Windows 10 PC, either using your computers built-in Bluetooth or by purchasing a USB dongle.

You would use this option if your PC is too far away from your PS4, on another story of your house, connecting to Remote Play remotely from another location, or if you have a mini pc hooked up to your living room TV.

The downside to this method is that the touchpad and PS button dont work because its using an Xbox 360 emulated controller, and obviously that controller doesnt have those buttons. Ill keep researching options and update this guide if I figure out a way to get these working.

How To Set Up Ps4 Remote Play On A Pc Or Mac

Step 1) Download and install PC/Mac client. The first step in our how-to is to download the official Remote Play app for PC or Mac this can be downloaded from here. Once youve downloaded the installer, simply install the app by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 2) Update your PS4 software to 3.50 if you havent already. Depending on your PlayStation 4 settings, you should be prompted to download and install the update automatically. However, if this hasnt happened, dont fear – you can also go to Settings > System Software Update to manually trigger the update.

Step 3) Open PC Remote Play app and connect your DualShock 4 controller. Even though most PCs and Macs offer Bluetooth support, Sony has designed the Remote Play app to only work with wired connections. This means youll have to plug your PS4 controller into your PC/Mac via a USB cable, then click Start.

Step 4) Log in to your PSN account. This should be the same as the main account you use on your PlayStation 4.

Step 5a) App will automatically search for your PS4. The search may take a few minutes but if it doesnt show up after an extended period of time, it has to be done manually. Sony claims that the search wont find your PlayStation 4 via the Internet if it isnt registered as your Primary PS4, or if its completely powered off .

How To Remote Play Ps5 On Ps4

If your PS4 is up to date, the PS5 Remote Play app should be there among your pre-installed apps. Scroll across until you find it: its a blue square with two dots above the outline of a gamepad and the word PS5 on it.

Unfortunately, Sony has blocked getting in-app screenshots, but the process from here is simple. Just start the app and your PS4 will find the PS5 on your network, so you can jump right in and play where you left off.

Before you can even dive into PS4 Remote Play, you’ll need to download the compatible app on whatever device you want to use.

To get started with Remote Play, go to the Sony’s website for Mac or PC, for Android device, or the iOS App Store for iOS devices and install the PS4 Remote Play app. Versions of the service should be pre-installed on your PS Vita or PlayStation TV if you’re using one of those more niche devices. Using The Dualshock 4 On Pc Or Mac With Ps4 Remote Play

The first thing you have to do in order to use a DualShock 4 on PC, is to connect it via USB. Note that it wont work with the PS4 Remote Play wirelessly on your PC via a Bluetooth connection.

Unfortunately, youre stuck with a USB connection until Sony finally decides to allow support for it wirelessly on PCs.

Back in Oct 2019, Macs received support for DualShock 4 controllers via Bluetooth with the macOS Catalina update.

How To Set Up Ps4 Remote Play

Step 1: On the PS4, open Settings and select Remote Play Connection Settings. The box beside Enable Remote Play must be checked.

Step 2: Back out and select Account Management on the list.

Step 3: Select Activate as Your Primary PS4.

Step 4: Select Activate on the following screen. This tells Sonys servers that your PS4 will now serve as the host for streaming games to any device logged in using the same Sony Entertainment Network account.

Step 5: Back out to the main Settings panel and select Power Save Settings.

Step 6: Select Set Features Available in Rest Mode.

Step 7: Check two settings: Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning On PS4 for Network. These settings allow the remote client device to turn the PS4 on while its in Rest Mode.

With the PS4 now registered to the PlayStation Network as your streaming server, you can move on to the client devices. Note that the PS4 must be connected to the internet and logged in to the PlayStation Network to pair client devices and stream games.
