Sony Says Its A Completely New Format For Vr And Dev Kits Are Going Out Soon
In a follow-up interview with GQ, Ryan hinted that the new PS5 VR headset will be a completely new format. Exactly what he means by that isnt clear, but it could lend credence to the idea that this new device isnt called PSVR 2. It might mean the device has its own ecosystem and UI on PS5 rather than just using a virtual screen of the standard menu.
In the same interview, Ryan also confirmed that developer kits are about to go out. No word on confirmed games yet, but hopefully well hear much more on that soon.

Ps: What We Want To See
A smaller consoleThe PS5 is a mammoth console. In fact, it’s the biggest console in modern history. But bigger doesn’t always mean better, and the PS5’s size makes it impractical for those who don’t have the shelving unit to house it – and, let’s be honest, not many of us do. With the PS6 , we’re hoping that Sony can learn from its mistakes, making the next-gen console smaller and more streamlined, while allowing for adequate airflow.
More affordable expandable internal storageIt will be possible to expand the PS5’s internal storage by popping off the side panel and installing an SSD, once Sony drops a software update to enable it – but it’s not that simple. The PS5 only accepts compatible NVMe SSDs, which match or excel past the existing drive specifications, and they don’t come cheap. These types of SSDs are typically pretty pricey, meaning that players may opt for external storage instead – but unfortunately, these externals storage options don’t harness the raw power of the PS5. With the PS6, we hope that Sony will make expanding internal storage easier – perhaps taking an approach similar to the Xbox Series X’s expandable storage card.

Sony Computer Entertainment PlayStation 3 was released on November 11, 2006 in Japan and November 17, 2006 in the US and Canada.
Formation Of Sony Computer Entertainment
At Sony Music Entertainment, Kutaragi worked closely with Shigeo Maruyama, the CEO of Sony Music, and with Akira Sato to form Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. on November 16, 1993. A building block of SCEI was its initial partnership with Sony Music which helped SCEI attract creative talent to the company as well as assist SCEI in manufacturing, marketing and producing discs, something that Sony Music had been doing with Music Discs. The final two key members of SCEI were Terry Tokunaka, the President of SCEI from Sony’s headquarters, and Olaf Olafsson. Olafsson was CEO and president of New York-based Sony Interactive Entertainment which was the parent company for the 1994-founded Sony Computer Entertainment of America .
The PlayStation project, SCEI’s first official project, was finally given the green light by Sony executives in 1993 after a few years of development. Also in 1993, Phil Harrison, who later became President of SCE Worldwide Studios, was recruited into SCEI to attract developers and publishers to produce games for their new PlayStation platform.

Playstation 5 Price: Recent History
After much waiting, Sony announced the price and release date of the PS5 during its 16th September showcase. The Japanese giant’s 40-minute digital event featured “a look at some of the great games coming to the PS5 at launch “.
The real draw, however, was the promise of the price finally being revealed. Sony didn’t disappoint, with the PS5 Digital and PS5 prices set at £360 and £450 . That came as a pleasant surprise to those who’d expected the PS5 to be priced much higher than the rival Xbox Series X.
So how does the PS5’s price compare to that of its predecessors?
Both the original PlayStation and PS2 launched at £299 in 1994 and 2000 respectively. The PS3 was quite the step up in 2006, with the entry-level 20GB model starting at £425 although that was more or less in line with inflation with regard to the original PlayStation, and there were also the significant hardware upgrades to factor in, not least of all being the Blu-ray optical drive.
Nonetheless, the PS3 was initially criticised partly for its seemingly high price. The 60GB model’s $599 price tag took particularly heavy flack. By the arrival of the PS3 Slim in 2009, though, all seemed to have been forgiven.
The bigger public surprise was saved for the 2013 PS4 launch, however, when the PlayStation price dropped down to £350 and heralded the arrival of one of the best-selling games consoles of all time.

Ps5 Review: Features And Controller
The PS5’s DualSense controller looks and feels fantastic in the hand, and has excellent rumble capabilities.
The DualSense controller is, I am happy to report, a mighty fine gamepad. It also easily beats the PS4’s pad, with a slightly rounder, filled out chassis falling into the hands much easier. It feels like a hybrid between the PS4’s controller and the Xbox One Wireless Controller, and that is no bad thing.
The rear of the body is finished with the same micro cross, circle, square, triangle pattern that appear on the inside console wings, which looks class and also provides that slightly rough texture that the best pads have to stop things getting slippery when the in-game heat is on.
The DualSense has a USB Type-C connection for charging and wired connections.
One of the biggest takeaway features I noticed with the DualSense, too, was its in-depth and complex haptic feedback .
This is far from just a one-note rumble and depending on what you are doing, in-game feedback to your hands provides varying degrees of sensation. It’s one of those features that is so well implemented that it just blends seamlessly into each gaming session, enhancing the experience.
The game just loaded and ran perfectly on PS5
I would confidently say that this haptic feedback tech is streets ahead of the Xbox Wireless Controller’s and Sony should be commended for it.
Ghost of Tsushima is a masterpiece. Play it now.

The Sims 4
While we wait for The Sims 5 â whenever that might be â the console version of the latest Sims title should keep you busy building your dream house and filling it with tiny simulated humans, either to ensure their happiness or inflict needless romantic drama with their neighbours. The important thing is that you get to choose.

When Will The Ps6 Be Released
There’s been talk for years we’ll reach an end of the traditional game console. Could we see Sony downsize to a flash drive-like device that plugs into your TV, like Stadia, perhaps? Possibly. Let’s assume that the PS6 is actually in the pipeline for now.
Sony has released a new PlayStation every several years. Since the PS3, Sony has provided a new console late in the year, so we expect the same for the PS6.
Indeed, in the past, the cycle for a new platform was 7 to 10 years, but in view of the very rapid development and evolution of technology, its really a six to seven year platform cycle.
One indicator we will see a PS6 is Sony has already secured the trademark for versions up through the PS10. The trademarks don’t prove anything, of course, but it does hint at a future of some kind.
Another signaling event is the relationship between when Sony begins developing a new PlayStation versus when it actually arrives. We shouldn’t take this as proof, but it’s interesting to consider:
- PS4’s development started in 2008, and then it was released five years later.
- PS5’s development started in 2015, and then it was released five years later.
- Based off a 2021 job listing from Sony that suggests the development of a new console, we can assume that the PS6 release date will be around 2026.
