The battery life lasts for around three to eight hours, depending on how demanding a game is on the DualSense.
The larger battery definitely makes the controller heavier, but Sony has put in the effort to make the controller as light as possible. Compared to the new Xbox Series X controller, the DualSense weighs about the same at around nine ounces.;

PS4 controllers that will work with the new PS5 console include specialty peripherals, such as licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks and flight sticks, which will be able to play PS5 games as well as the PS4 titles that make it across the generational divide.
Wireless headsets, such as the Platinum and Gold Sony-made models and third-party headsets that connect with USB or 3.5mm, will also work on PS5 .
And while the PS4’s DualShock 4 wireless controller will connect to the PS5, it will only work with supported PS4 games.
