Will Among Us Come To Any Other Platforms

What Does This Mean For Console Gamers

This is where things get dicey. As a gamer, I want the best version of Sonys consoles, but I also dont have the means to pay $399 all over again. Im sure many of you feel the same.

That being said, the efforts Sony is taking to keep the market intact and unfractured by exclusive PS4 Pro titles makes me feel a little better. Were used to slim versions of these consoles, but this new potential release suggests that the days of seven-year console generations may be coming to an end.

Sony has a very firm stance that the PS4 Pro is still very much a PS4 at heart. They have also said that the new console will be the standard going forward for several more years before they release anything new.

The PlayStation 4 will be released on Nov. 15 and with the expense of buying Sonys new console, accessories and games, fans can expect to shell out some serious money. That cost is nothing compared to the PlayStation 3 launch in 2006. In seven years, prices have dropped dramatically, including incidental purchases like a HDTV.

Gamers now do not even think twice about the television they own but in 2006, HDTVs were still too expensive for most individuals. As reported by the Chicago Tribune in 2006, prices for 42-inch HD plasma TV were dropping significantly each year, with the average price of a new TV costing $2,014, from the end of 2005 to the end of 2006. For a quick comparison, a search online at Best Buy reveals prices that are dramatically lower. A 42-inch HDTV costs $399.99, the cost of a PS4, while a 60-inch plasma HDTV costs $949.99.

Ps4 Launches In Japan On February 22nd Three Months After The Us

One notable omission from the PlayStation 4 launch information provided at Gamescom was any hint of a date for Sony’s home country of Japan. At a press conference today, however, Sony revealed that the next-generation console will be released on February 22nd, 2014, priced at ¥39,980 excluding sales tax.
