Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox One X: Online Experience

120 FPS On PS4 Pro! (How to get 120hz on PS4)

No matter which of the two consoles you get, youll have to pay to play online. For Xbox One X, you’ll use Xbox Live to do that, and it costs $59.99 annually or $9.99 per month. Sonys PlayStation Plus is the same price. Both systems require those respective services for you to play online. Each offers two free game downloads per month and sales on a wide variety of older titles.

Xbox Live has proved to be more stable over the years, and PlayStation Plus still has some stains on its reputation from a highly publicized hacking back in 2011, as well as some high-profile outages.

You can access PlayStation Plus free games on your PS4, PS3 and Vita, but youll have to play them separately on each system. Xboxs Games with Gold program goes only as far back as the Xbox 360, but you can play any of them on the Xbox One X thanks to the backward compatibility.

Sony offers gamers 10GB of cloud storage for game saves with PS Plus, while Microsoft gives unlimited cloud storage even if you dont sign up for Xbox Live Gold.

Winner: Xbox One X. Xbox Live is more stable and offers more cloud storage.

Ghost Of Tsushima Frame Rate

Ghost of Tsushima runs at 30 FPS on both the base PlayStation 4 console and the more powerful PS4 Pro. Opting for the Better Frame Rate performance mode on a PS4 Pro system does not achieve 60 FPS instead, the game remains at a solid 30 FPS.

The Pro version defaults to Better Frame Rate mode, though the benefits arent actually that notable in this instance. We found the boost to be negligible while reviewing Ghost of Tsushima, and that was recently confirmed in a Resero PS4 vs. PS4 Pro video comparison. Digital Foundry has also weighed in on the situation, recommending that players switch to Higher Resolution mode. Notably, that goes against the tech channels usual recommendation of plumping for technical performance over visual fidelity.

Better Frame Rate performance mode drops the resolution to 1080p HD, which, as DF notes, includes the UI and can make the in-game text less legible. Trading off resolution and asset quality gets players a solid 30 FPS performance.

Higher Resolution performance mode runs at 1800p, likely achieved using checkerboard rendering. Digital Foundry recommends this mode for those with 4K TVs, and wed echo that. The visuals are much sharper, and you still get a mostly solid 30 FPS performance.

How Many Frames Per Second Can The Ps4 And Xbox One Display

Every game on these consoles runs on a spectrum between 30 and 60 FPS. Even when the hardware can squeeze extra frames, they are capped at 60 to ensure consistency.

The specific frame rate of each game runs depends on its graphics and native resolution. More demanding games tend to run at a lower frame rate than simpler ones.

This is also why the few games that have the option to play on a higher display tend to have more FPS, as there are fewer pixels displayed on the screen for the hardware to worry about.

In any event, while the PS4 is more powerful, there isn´t a noticeable frame rate difference with the Xbox One due to the aforementioned caps and that multiplatform releases are made to run at the same frame rate in both consoles.

How Many Fps Is Ps4 Pro

Another thing to consider about the Pro is that your at the Mercy of the Devs if they want to implement Proper Pro Support for their games This, also it’s not a matter of ps4 pro being powerful enough for 60 fps, it’s devs CHOOSING to push graphical fidelity and resolution over fps. What developers should be focusing on is 1080p/60, or at least 1080p with increased detail levels.

Of course, with this sort of tweak there can be unwanted side effects. Lets tackle that. So we did. Some games did hit 60 but not that many. Of course, the utilisation of Pro hardware may vary on a title by title basis and the overall outlook on how the hardware is utilised may change across the months as developers get to grips with the new kit. Cyberpunk 2077 Ps5 Performance

Sonys PS4 Pro: 60 FPS vs. 4K & A Look At Launch Title ...

Unsurprisingly, Cyberpunk 2077 runs best on PS5 . This is the smoothest possible performance that you can get on a Sony system, offering 60 frames-per-second at what appears to be a slightly better resolution than 1080p but it’s certainly not 4K or anything close.

It’s also worth noting that, at launch, there’s no ‘quality’ graphics option on PS5. You’re locked to the game’s 60fps performance mode.

The game sticks to what seems to be a solid 60fps without any major drops, although we have noticed that when driving around Night City at high speed, the framerate can dip here and there. Minor drops can also happen during more intense combat scenarios, but it’s not really enough to impact the experience.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs nicely on PS5, then, but it’s very clearly a PS4 game. Everything has a slight blur to it, and graphically, the title doesn’t wow as often as you’d expect. It can look pretty at the right time of day, like at dusk when the neon lights start flickering to life, but overall, Night City looks decidedly last-gen especially if you don’t have HDR enabled.

Well, what about the bugs? Aside from a handful of standout glitches like characters spawning on top of one another and then floating in mid-air together it’s honestly not that bad. We’ve had quite a bit of open world jank dead bodies clipping into the ground, some dodgy animations but nothing too egregious.

Here’s hoping that this problem gets fixed as soon as possible.

Fortnite Update 18 Caps The Game At 30 Fps On Ps4 And Ps4 Pro

Fortnite update 1.8 is now rolling out for players on PS4, Xbox One, and PCs. However, there is a bad news for PlayStation 4 and Pro users. The Fortnite game is now capped at 30FPS on PS4 and PS4 PRO.

According to the Epic games, the unlocking frame rate was an accidental change. The game developers feel that capping consoles to 30 fps will provide the best experience based on internal metrics and blind play testing.

In addition, the team is working on improvements for locking the front end UI and lobby screens at 60fps, and investigating adding a display options menu on consoles.

At launch, Fortnite had significant problems with frame syncing and render threads with the GPU at 30fps. While fixing the frame syncing problem engineers also identified significant input latency because of parallel rendering on consoles. This introduced latency as high as 120ms and made the experience on both consoles poor.

Xbox One X Vs Ps4 Pro: Graphics Comparison

  • The Xbox One X has the edge in terms of both resolution and texture detail.
  • However, developers haven’t made the most out of the Xbox One X, and many games present minimal differences.

FIFA 18

FIFA 18 does very well on the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X, with native 4K video output available on both. Despite the differences in the specs of the two machines, there isn’t too much to separate the two versions of the game.

Digital Foundry’s analysis of the two versions suggests that the only real difference is a slightly better draw distance for the grass on the Xbox One X version of the game.

We’d be wary about drawing too many conclusions about what this says about the relative capabilities of the two consoles. We’d say this is probably a matter of EA having not quite pushed the Xbox One X to the limits of what it’s capable of.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

It’s a completely different story when it comes to Middle Earth: Shadow of War.

Although the game doesn’t run at native 4K on either console, it runs at a slightly higher resolution of 1980p on the Xbox One X compared to the PS4 Pro’s 1620p.

Beyond resolution Digital Foundry notes that there are a number of other improvements present on the Xbox One X version of the game. This version has much better textures thanks to the improved memory bandwidth the hardware offers.

The overall result is an image that’s much clearer overall on Microsoft’s console.

What Do I Need To Play Ps5 Games At 120 Fps

To play a compatible game at 120 FPS, you’ll need to hook your PS5 up to a TV capable of displaying a 120hz signal. While some 4K TVs support a 120hz signal, only a few of the best TVs for PS5 support both 4K and 120hz at the same time. This also requires an HDMI 2.1 cable, which is fortunately included with your PS5.

If you play a game at 120 FPS with a higher resolution than your TV is capable of displaying, the resolution will be downscaled to whatever resolution it can handle, so just bear that in mind if you don’t spring for a high-end model yet. Here are some great picks for a TV to play at 120 FPS on your PS5:

Xbox One Vs Ps4 Price Difference

Fortnite | Switch vs PS4 vs PS4 Pro | Framerate Test | FPS Comparison
  • PS4 was initially much cheaper than Xbox One
  • But price drops have since leveled the playing field

On release, the PS4 price was the more tempting deal: $399 for the console and DualShock 4 controller. The Xbox One was relatively expensive, at $499 for the system, Xbox One controller and Kinect.

But now, after several price drops from both consoles , the two consoles are much more evenly matched.

Typically we’ll see the PS4 priced at around $299/£249 and the Xbox One S at around £149/£199.

In the most recent Black Friday sales, we seen the Xbox One S All-Digital hovering around the $100/£100 mark while the PS4 remained around $100 more expensive at $199. However, these prices are often in flux and, with the next-gen consoles releasing in late 2020, we expect to see Xbox One bundles and PS4 bundles dropping considerably over the next year.

In terms of the more powerful PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X, the Xbox One X is more expensive, with an RRP of $499 rather than the PS4 Pro’s $399.

  • Both systems come with a controller, trial offers and an HDMI cable
  • However, only the PS4 comes with a headset

At launch, Xbox One came with the console, a controller and the Kinect camera which bumped up the price while annoying many who weren’t impressed by the motion capture tech. Subsequent Xbox One bundles included Forza Horizon 3 or FIFA 17 for the same price, while newer, cheaper systems have eliminating Kinect completely while promoting the latest Xbox games such as Forza Horizon 4.

Does Warzone Run At 120fps

The high frame-rate mode was stealthily added by the developer and only came to light after Warzone players let the game run with Series consoles 120Hz mode toggled in the system menus. It actually works too, but it comes with a pretty hefty caveat in that you do take a resolution hit on both machines.

Crash Bandicoot 4 Runs At 60 Fps On Ps4 Pro And Xbox One X But Only At 1080p

Digital foundry on the day of release Crash Bandicoot 4 released a technical analysis of the hardcore platforming game for all consoles.

There is like good news, like almost stable 60 frames per second on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, and bad the image quality on all consoles is almost the same, although there is a strange difference between the PlayStation and Xbox.

According to experts, the quality of shadows and some textures on both Xbox is noticeably worse than on both PlayStation 4, and contact shadows on Microsoft consoles are completely absent. As a result, the game looks better in places on the base PS4 than on the Xbox One X.

In general, however, on all consoles, the new Crash looks great, which is especially helped by the many technical features of Unreal Engine 4.

If we talk about performance, then the situation is as follows:

  • Xbox One X 60 FPS with very rare crashes
  • PS4 Pro 60 FPS with occasional crashes
  • PS4 from 30 to 60 FPS, most often around 40-50 FPS
  • Xbox One 30 to 40 FPS.

All versions of the platformer work with dynamic resolution of 1080p, but only the Xbox One seriously drops to lower values like 900p.

A strange technical feature is also associated with Xbox One: at some levels the game runs at 30 FPS with a frame limit, while at others the blocking is removed for some reason, which not only jumps the frequency, but also causes problems with the frame rate.

Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox One X: Value

How much more are you willing to pay for the Xbox One Xs power? Specifically, its a $100 question. The Xbox One X starts at $499 and includes a 1TB HDD. The PlayStation 4 Pro, though, is $399 and also has 1TB of internal storage. Both support external storage, so you can upgrade as you like.

So the big question in what youre paying for are the differences. The Xbox One X is smaller, plays 4K Blu-ray discs, and promises to run games at 60 fps and 4K. The PlayStation 4 Pro also plays games in 4K and has a VR headset that you can grab right now.

If you prefer the best exclusives, the PS4 certainly has the better game library. And at the moment, weve yet to be able to test exactly what the Xbox One X will do with old games and upcoming releases.

Winner: PlayStation 4 Pro. The PS4 Pro is $100 less, has the same amount of storage as the Xbox One X and can play games in 4K.

How Many Fps Can The Pc Display

PS4: Tip to increase your FPS, game runs much smoother for ...

The PC can display as many frames as it is monitor and hardware allows it. In theory, a powerful enough computer can display up to a thousand frames per second. In practice, the FPS is limited by the Monitor´s refresh rate.

The highest refresh rate for commercial monitors is around 144 Hz, meaning that they can display a maximum of around 144 FPS.

While computer games also cap the maximum number of frames per second and stabilize the frame rate , it is much easier to remove this limit on your PC compared to the consoles.

As such, while the most common FPS range between thirty and sixty, it is not unheard of for games in high-end machines to reach hundreds of FPS. This is why its advocates argue that PC gaming has the best and smoother graphics.

While technically true, only the most eagle-eyed or hardcore gamers will notice that much of a difference if their games are running at 80 FPS compared to 60.

The one platform where having constant and high FPS does make a difference is in VR games. As previously discussed, when wearing a VR headset, choppy graphics can make you nauseous.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ps4 Performance

So here we are, Cyberpunk 2077 on the base PS4. And you know what? It’s actually not the complete train wreck that many have been anticipating. That said, this is unsurprisingly the worst way to experience Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation.

The game is obviously capped at 30fps here, but there are some definite drops in busy parts of Night City drops that we didn’t notice on PS4 Pro. They’re not the kind of dips that make you wonder whether your PS4’s about to flatline, but they can still be quite rough on the eyes.

The asset-loading stutters that the game suffers from on PS4 Pro are here as well, but they don’t seem to be any more or less prevalent. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the pop-in, which is even more noticeable on base PS4. Even driving at a moderate speed down the highway, street lights, shadows, and other environmental effects pop into existence over and over again.

Cyberpunk 2077 also makes our launch PS4 sound like it’s going to explode but what else did you expect?

Cyberpunk 2077 plays okay on PS4. Hurrah! However, it’s got some noticeable graphical and technical inconsistencies. It’s undeniably rough around the edges on Sony’s last-gen console, with framerate dips and abundant pop-in damaging your sense of immersion. It’s not the disaster that we were half expecting it to be far from it but it’s clear that sacrifices had to made in order to get this thing up and running on PS4.
