How To Share Play On Ps5
The person who starts a Share Play session is the host, and the player who joins the session is the visitor. There are two play modes Visitor Plays as You, and Play a game with the Visitor. The first option allows the Visitor to take over control of the game, so you might use this if you are stuck on a level and need a hand getting past a tricky spot. The second option is a local multiplayer setup, and both parties need to have PlayStation Plus.
- Press the PS button to go to the control centre and select the party voice chat card.
- Select Start Share Screen, then Start Share Play.
- Select a player in the voice chat, invite the player and then select the play mode.
A couple of things to note: you can only use with one visitor at a time. And Play with Visitor is only available if the Visitor is also a PlayStation Plus member.
What You Can Do With Share Play
- Give Controller to Visitor The host’s game screen appears on the visitor’s screen, and the visitor plays as the host. The host must be a PlayStation®Plus member.
- Give Controller to Visitor The host’s game screen appears on the visitor’s screen, and both the host and visitor play together while viewing the same screen. The host and the visitor must be PlayStation®Plus members.
- You can use Share Play for up to 1 hour at a time. Share play automatically ends an hour after the visitor joins.
- You can view the remaining time for Share Play from the party screen. For details about the party screen, see âWhat’s on the party screenâ.
- Only the host can earn trophies during Share Play.
- During Share Play, when the host views a screen other than the game screen, a standby image appears on the visitor’s system.
- For the host and visitor to play a game together, the host’s device needs to be set up in advance. If you are the host, from your PS4 system go to > > > and then select .
- Depending on the player’s account and the game played, Share Play may not be available, or some scenes may not appear to the visitor.
- When the host has HDR enabled, the colors in the video seen by the visitor might be different from the colors seen by the host.

In order to use Share Play, here’s what you’ll need:
- A PlayStation Plus subscription
- A PS5 or a friend who owns a PS5
- Another PS5 or a PS4
- A good internet connection

How Ps4 And Ps5 Share Play Works Across Console Generations

How To Share All Your Games On Ps4
Another way to share your games requires you to access their PS4 or trust them with your login information.
If you set a friend’s PS4 as your primary console, they can then log in with their account, download any games you have purchased, and play them. If you later log into your PS4, you can then play any multiplayer game you have purchased with that friend.
They are allowed to play it because their console is set as your primary PS4, and you’re allowed to play it because you logged in with the account that purchased the game.
Only use this method with people you trust. If you ever need to use your own PS4 as your primary PS4 in the future, your friend or family member will have to first deactivate their PS4 as your account’s primary console. You can do it yourself via web browser, but you are only allowed to do so once every six months.
Log into your PS4 account on your friend or family member’s PS4.
Open Settings from the home screen.
Select Account Management.
Select Activate as Your Primary PS4.
Users of this PS4 will now have access to your games. If you are exchanging access to games with a friend or family member, have them repeat steps 1-4 on your PS4.
