Grand Theft Auto 5 Gets Rockstar Editor On Ps4 And Xbox One Next Month
Grand Theft Auto 5 publisher Rockstar Games is bringing the Rockstar Editor, the tool that allows players to produce short films from in-game footage, to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game in September, the company announced yesterday.
The Rockstar Editor will arrive on consoles as part of the next Grand Theft Auto 5 update. The version of the Rockstar Editor in that patch will include some new features, which Rockstar will also add to the tool’s existing incarnation in the Windows PC version of the game. Some of the new elements are a library of sound effects and ambient audio tracks additional fonts copy and paste support for editing markers and direct upload support for Snapmatic, the in-game Instagram clone.
Rockstar launched Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC in mid-April, and the Rockstar Editor has been available exclusively on PC since then. For more on the Rockstar Editor, check out the trailer below, as well as “Parkour All the Time,” our own experiment with the tool.
Available Actors In Grant Theft Auto 5 Director Mode
In GTA 5 director mode PS4/Xbox One/PC, players can select a single actor from 17 different categories. Moreover, players can control and customize the actor in the free map mode.
Animals, costumes, special characters, sports, story characters, emergency services are some character categories out of the 17 available in the director mode. Some actors will be available after completing the mission of story mode. Youll receive a HUD message after a specific character is available for director mode PS4/Xbox One/PC.

The director mode was first introduced to the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5. Later on, it was added to the current-gen consoles with the Freemode Events Update. the director mode isnt available on previous-gen consoles.

Users can enter the director mode via three options. First, you can launch it via the old-school Rockstar Editor menu. Pause the game and go to settings, there youll be able to find director mode alongside GTA online mode.
Next up, the director mode can be accessed via the interaction menu that is an on-screen GUI. It was first introduced in GTA 5 Online, and after some time, it got extended to the standard game. To bring up the interaction menu, hold touchpad on PS4, view button on Xbox One & M on PC. From there, you can fire up the director mode.
Lastly, players can also jump in the director mode via a contact called Los Santos Talent/Acting Up. Just bring up your cell phone, go to the contacts list and select the Los Santos Talent/Acting Up option.

Once you’re in Director Mode, you can choose any character or NPC to play the game and activate other cheats such as explosive ammo, super jump, etc. It pretty much lets you “direct” the game you are playing.
You cannot enter the Director Mode if the player is inside a vehicle, wanted, in an active mission, during a cutscene or in an online lobby. It will give you a message saying “Director Mode is currently inaccessible”

Is The Rockstar Editor Available On Ps4/xbox One Or Only Pc
I have Grand Theft Auto V on the PlayStation 3, but obviously, I know the Rockstar Editor is not available on the 7th generation of consoles.
I am considering re-buying GTA V on the PlayStation 4. The main reason is to get access to the R* Editor, but I do not actually know if it is on the PS4 as well as the PC or just on the PC, so my question is: Is it, or is it not on 8th gen?

- For one, do you wish to know if the editor is included, or what the core game differences are? You are suppose to ask two seperate questions for two seperate questions. Asking two in the one is a valid close reason. For two, grammar and spelling go a long way. Typing R* instead of rockstar will get you downvotes. We reward good grammar and punctuation, not laziness. While the Director Mode is similar to the Story Mode in terms of gameplay mechanics, it has many more limitations and other features that set it apart from the Story Mode significantly. There are many limitations in the Director Mode, which you might not encounter in the Story Mode otherwise.

The Rockstar Editor, one of the most enticing exclusive features for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is officially headed to the PS4 and Xbox One versions in the very near future.
Rockstar Games today has confirmed that the feature will hit both current gen console platforms, for free, in September. They also announced that all 3 versions will receive a number of new features and content for the Rockstar Editor as well. Thats a pretty amazing level of support for a game thats been out for quite a while now.

Recording Modes And Editing
Rockstar Editor features 2 distinct recording modes:
- Manual Recording – Switch recording on and off with a button press
- Action Replay – When active, recent gameplay footage is available for retroactive archiving
They can then add audio, apply effects, overlay text, or change camera angles There are three camera options to choose from:
- Game Camera Standard third person gameplay camera
- Pre-set Camera angles Front, rear, side, and overhead aangles locked on a character
- Free Camera Place the camera where you want it, and optionally choose a target to track

Several special effects and filters may also be laid over your captured footage, with variable contrast, intensity, saturation, lens, and vignette Audio intensity and scores are also adjustable Footage speed may also be slowed or increased between markers
Users can cycle and scrub through captured clips, add, arrange, and trim footage, and add overlay text. Tracks from in-game radio stations may be layered over footage. Camera angles can be adjusted, filters applied, and audio levels managed.
The Rockstar Editor also includes an action replay feature for retroactively capturing the previous few seconds of game play for use in clips.
Can You Be A Cop In Director Mode
The first thing that you need to do is steal a cop car. Once you do that go to Rockstar Editor. And now select the director mode. Players can now see an additional option of Actors. Select that and then Emergency Services > LSPD. At this point in GTA 5 Director Mode, the game will reload and on the other side, youll be a police officer. You can roam around, discover your super powers and help cops in whatever they are doing. Although you cant do much being a cop but it is still good if you want to have a feeler of the GTA 5 Director mode first.
