What’s Better Playstation 4 Or Xbox

Ps4 Vs Xbox One S: Graphics Comparison

Xbox One or Playstation 4: Which is Better?
  • Games on the original PS4 tend to run at higher resolutions than their Xbox One S counterparts.

While the Xbox One X appears to have the edge over the PS4 Pro, it’s a different story when it comes to the Xbox One S and PS4.

A gameplay video on YouTube of GTA 5 pans between the two next-gen versions of the game with a definitive answer. The base PS4 GPU is able to handle more foliage in environments than the base Xbox One.

Yes, you literally have to get into the weeds to see the differences, though both the PS4 and Xbox editions of GTA 5 look stellar compared to their last-gen counterparts.

In the Metal Gear Solid 5 comparison, there’s slightly more clarity to the PS4 version. Specifically, distant textures and moving objects appear softer among the otherwise identical Xbox One visuals.

It’s a trend we’re seeing from PS4 games that achieve a 1080p resolution at 30 or 60 frames per second, when their Xbox One counterparts run at 720p or 900p at 30 or 60 fps.

This is a trend that’s continuing today, with video analysis, such as the one below, indicating that Battlefield 1 runs at a consistently higher resolution on the PS4 than the Xbox One, with both consoles hitting the same variable 60 fps frame rate.

It’s a similar story when it comes to Titanfall 2, which likewise runs at a lower resolution on the Xbox One.

Overall, the PS4 appears to have the edge on the Xbox One, but both are left in the dust by their more powerful younger siblings.

Xbox One Vs Ps4 Sales Figures

In March 2016, games company EA estimated that the Xbox One and the PS4 have sold a combined 60 million units worldwide. Considering that Sony had reported 36 million units a couple of months before that, it was estimated that a little over 20 million units of the Xbox One had been shipped as of March 2016.

As of January 2016, PlayStation 4 sales have reached 35.9 million units worldwide, with 5.7 million units sold in the December 2015 holiday season.

In late November 2015, the Wall Street Journal reported that Sony had sold over 30 million units of the PS4, making it the fastest-selling PlayStation product in history, considering the first two years since launch. The WSJ news story also reported analyst opinion that the PS4 is “running far ahead of Xbox One” .

As of March 1, 2015, Sony had sold 20.2 million units of the PS4. The latest available official sales figures for the Xbox One were announced in November 2014, when Microsoft announced they had sold nearly 10 million units. The holiday shopping season was strong for Microsoft so the current number is certainly much higher however, the Xbox still trails the PS4 in worldwide sales.

Sony’s PS4 outsold the Xbox One in the U.S. in every single month from January to June 2014. In June, Microsoft announced a $399 version of the Xbox One without the Kinect and said the move led to a doubling of its monthly sales but did not release any specific numbers.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Design

For the most part, whether you like a consoles design comes down to personal preference. But my personal preference is that I cannot stand how the PS5 looks. Not only is the system comically large its also a pain to switch from vertical to horizontal configuration, and the standard version sports an ugly, asymmetrical design.

The front panel is prone to fingerprints the power and disc eject buttons are indistinguishable. Its rare that I recommend you hold off on a console purchase simply to wait for the prettier redesign, but you should very strongly consider doing that with the PS5.

The Xbox Series X, on the other hand, is still pretty bulky, but manages its space much better. Rather than looking like an oversized router, the Xbox Series X is a sleek black box that looks, at least in its vertical form, kind of like a small tower PC . It has a clearly defined power button, as well as a pairing button to make wireless connections painless.

The only big advantage the PS5 has over the Xbox Series X is the presence of a USB-C port which is a big deal, especially as more accessories get USB-C adapters. But even if the Xbox Series X design is much more conservative, its also much more sensible overall.

Playstation 4 Vs Xbox One: Which System Is Better

To say there is bad blood between Microsoft and Sony would be viewed as a massive understatement.

Both companies are set to release their next-generation gaming consoles later this year, but neither side is waiting until the to take shots at one another.

Microsoft took a indirect shot at Sony by securing a more-than impressive list of Xbox One exclusive games, but then Sony dropped a major bombshell of its own.

Towards the end of its E3 press event, Sony America President Jack Tretton announced, one by one, details of the PlayStation 4 that was met by thunderous applause by those in attendance, all of them direct shots at Microsoft. Then to top it all off, Sony, to coincide with the announcement that gamers can buy, sell, rent, and trade PS4 games at will when the console is released, released this video of instructions on how to share games which is viewed as a direct shot at Microsofts decision to not allow the sharing of games whatsoever without paying full price for said game.

Its clear that we are in for a dirty fight between the top two console companies in the industry today. No matter what the companies do and say, whether direct or indirect, about each other, there is one thing that both care about just as much as the other: the consumer.

Without people going out and purchasing the consoles, neither company will see success. So, thats where you come in Fansiders. What are your thoughts on the consoles?

PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One: Which is better? RO: In the Know

Xbox may have a more powerful console now, but it still needs to deliver on exclusives. Both consoles have third-party titles from the likes of Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, but those companies in-house titles make their systems more desirable.

Sony has many celebrated titles, including The Last of Us Part 2, , Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, and God of War. All PS4 games released since 2017, and a few older too, can be played in 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro, if you have a 4K-compatible TV or monitor to use with it.

Sonys PlayStation Now subscription allows you to play select PS3 titles for $20 per month. Or, you can shell out $15 per game to play a whole bunch of PS2 games that have been modernized with 1080p upscaling, Remote Play and Share Play.

Xbox has a few of its own first-party exclusives, like Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4, but its lineup is not as varied or as widely well-received as Sonys.

The Xbox has a big trick up its sleeve: backward compatibility. Xbox One got access to Xbox 360 games last year, and this year, Microsoft announced that Xbox One systems will be able to play games from the original Xbox as well . Additionally, Xbox allows certain games, like ReCore and Halo Wars 2, to be shared on both PC and Xbox via the Xbox Play Anywhere program.

Winner: Tie. While Xbox gains ground with backward compatibility and shared play with PCs, the PS4 Pro still has more of the best exclusive titles you can get on current-generation consoles.

Ps4 Pro Vs Xbox One X

E3 had a big, Sony-shaped void in it this year, but Microsoft gave us a hint of what is to come in the next generation of Xbox consoles.

We saw a weird non-trailer where developers from Microsoft explained the specs of the future Xbox One, code-named Project Scarlett.

You can read more about it on the link above, but here is a brief run-down of what is to come from Xbox.

It will have a custom processor from AMD using the Zen 2 and Navi architecture – we don’t really know what all that means, but we trust that its super powerful.

During the announcement video, the devs claimed that processor would make Project Scarlett four times more powerful than the Xbox One X, capable of 8K resolution and 120Gz frame rate.

That is staggering if true, considering that 120Hz TVs don’t even exist yet, and 8K TVs are only housed in the richest of living rooms.

It will also have a Solid State Drive built into the console for the first time, making it more efficient for the console to pull out data and run it on your screen. This can cut loads times into milliseconds and bring up graphic-intense scenes in-gam with no problem.

Conversely, Sony has been teasing us with PS5 news, but in the shape of a Wired article a few months ago.

It will also have a built-in SSD to reduce load-times and improve graphical fidelity, as well as a brand new feature to gaming called Ray Tracing.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Price

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X cost $500 apiece. Since the two systems are very similar, this category would seem to be a tie at first glance. However, the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X are not the only variants available. Theres also the $400 PS5 Digital Edition and the $300 Xbox Series S.

As such, both consoles have cheaper variants, and both the PS5 Digital Edition and the Xbox Series S have legitimate applications: the former for digital diehards, the latter for casual players or secondary setups. Still, since the Xbox Series S is a somewhat different system, and not just a console variation, it’s hard to pick a definitive winner. Both full-fledged systems cost the same amount of money that’s the most important thing at the moment.

Winner: Tie

They Might Not Be Brand New But If You’re Hoping To Game On A Tighter Budget The Xbox One S And Ps4 Are Still Excellent Consoles

If you’re looking to buy a games console, you have more choice than ever. The next generation of games consoles has made a stylish entrance, with Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X proving that console gaming is one of the most popular pastimes on the planet.

Of course, you’ll generally have to pay more for the privilege of owning one, which begs the question: what about the less expensive options? Fortunately, neither Sony nor Microsoft is ready to give up on the PS4 or Xbox One just yet. Both consoles will still have access to the latest games for a little while longer, making them a great choice for the bargain savvy gamers out there.

And then there’s the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, supercharged versions of their respective base consoles that have upgraded capabilities, including 4K HDR playback. Though sadly, these superpowered consoles aren’t much cheaper than their next-gen counterparts. You might also want to game on the go: Nintendo’s Switch and Switch Lite are both extraordinarily popular and should not be overlooked.

In this article, however, well leave the flagship next-gen powerhouses, “Pro” and “X” machines and Nintendo Switch consoles to one side, and just stick to comparing the PS4 and Xbox One S. From specs and exclusive games to multiplayer services and, of course, the all-important subject of price we’ll pit both machines against one another in every conceivable way.

Pro Xbox One: Xbox One Has Faster Ui Iteration

PS4 Pro vs XBox One S: Which One is Better?

The Xbox One is updated fast and furious. When the console first launched it was a mess. Applications crashed regularly and it was riddled with options that were only accessible through voice command. Within a short window, things were largely fixed. Thats the story of the Xbox Ones user interface: Microsoft fixes problems quickly. In the relatively few years the console has been available, the company has already replaced the UI whole cloth and are already planning another substantial expansion. Remember, this is to compliment near-monthly updates. They also go one step further with an opt-in preview program that lets user have permanent access to a beta version of upcoming revisions.

Which Is Better Playstation 4 Or Xbox One

As i explained in my previous articles which is better playstation 4 or xbox one , the phenomena of gaming is growing rapidly. Being a gamer i would like to tell you which is best ps or xbox. I personally like PLAYSTATION because it is faster and more reliable. The xbox is also good but i will give 10/10 to PLAYSTATION. PLAYSTATION is the brand of SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT and XBOX is the brand of Microsoft.

The following are the gaming consoles of PLAYSTATION.

  • PS one
  • PSVITA
  • PS5

SONY first released the ps one in the 90s. Then the ps2 was released. The ps2 was the most popular console in the history of gaming. It was a very successful gaming console. Then after the success of Playstation 2, SONY released the PLAYSTATION 3.The ps2 and ps3 are my favorite gaming consoles. I had spent my childhood playing games on there great platforms. Along with the ps3, SONY released the PSP. The psp was also a great gaming device . Then after the success of ps3, SONY plans to release a next generation gaming console and it was the ps4.

The PLAYSTATION 4 was the first next generation gaming console.Sonys PS4 is the most popular gaming device. It supports next generation gaming and high definition resolution. after the success of PS4 , Sony released the ps5 last year, like previous generations, Ps5 also became a successful gaming console. The ps5 also supports high definition gaming. It is much faster than previous generation consoles.

Pro Xbox One: Cloud Saves Are A Breeze On Xbox One

Make it fast. Make it magic. Microsoft’s near instant cloud saves are unparalleled. It goes hand-in-hand with their Windows 10 cross-buy initiative. Stop playing a game on Xbox One, and it will instantly sync between all of your accounts. Your saves push out immediately. They don’t wait for a designated period or make you wait while your account fetches data from the cloud. It sounds cliche, but it just works.

You also dont need a subscription to use cloud saves on Xbox One. With PlayStation Plus, if your subscription lapses, you lose access to your remote save data. Obviously, thats an upsetting prospect if an important save happens to be in the cloud at the end of your subscription. Luckily, Microsoft considers them an integral part of the package if youre gaming on Xbox, you have free storage in the cloud.

Pro Ps: You Can Stream Playstation Games On A Mac

Theres no arguing it: MacBooks are still a hugely popular laptop. For obvious reasons, Microsoft hasnt made a huge effort to support Xbox gamers on the Mac, which is kind of a bummer. Xbox head Phil Spencer did say that an Xbox app could come to OS X, but its about development priorities. Take that as you will. On the flip side, if you cant play PlayStation 4 games in front of the tv, you can stream them to either a Mac or PC without much hassle. Sonys Remote Play feature is an impressive one for slower games that dont require a whole lot of precision. You wont be completing Destiny raids or Dark Souls bosses, but it does give us more ways to stay connected to the games we love.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Bottom Line

Which Is Better: Xbox One or PlayStation 4?

It may seem odd to come to a conclusion on the best last-generation console, but as these machines are still getting games made for them, they are far from irrelevant. Ultimately, the PS4 is the overall winner, all down to its larger selection of exclusive games.

However, you can’t go wrong with an Xbox One S, especially when combined with the the frankly absurd bargain that Xbox Game Pass offers.

In basic terms, if you don’t have an PS4 and have an Xbox One, then it’s still worth snapping up Sony’s last-gen console, especially if you can find it at a bargain price, And the same applies in reverse. There is a overall winner here, but it’s basically you, the console gamer.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Controllers

Both consoles come with natty new controllers, but there’s no denying that the PS5’s new DualSense is the more significant and, ultimately, better of the two.

While most are unlikely to see or even feel the difference, the new Xbox controller is a little smaller than its predecessor, which should make it easier for younger and smaller gamers.

The underside is more prominently textured, too, and that mottled effect has also found its way to the surfaces of the two trigger buttons these are matte rather than glossy, and curve to a less prominent peak. Overall, the new controller is a little easier to grip and more ergonomically advanced, which can only be good.

On the face of the controller is a new Share button, inspired by that of the PS4s DualShock 4. Tap the button to instantly save a screenshot, hold it down for a couple of seconds to capture the last 29 seconds of gameplay. The d-pad, meanwhile, has been tweaked to resemble that of the Elite Controller Series 2. This makes it more useful for games that require sweeping actions , without overly sacrificing the positivity of presses up, down, left or right.

The Series X controller is better than the already excellent controller before it, but not drastically so. We wouldnt recommend rushing out to replace your controllers, and you dont need to either: Xbox One controllers work just fine with the Series X.
