Update: Black Ps5 Console Covers Finally Announced
Weve been waiting a long time, but that wait is finally at an end. Today, Sony announced some new customisation options for the PS5. This includes the long-wished for black faceplates. So while this may not be a black console right out of the box, it does now allow players to have a fully black console, should they wish.
Alongside the announcement of the black console covers, Sony announced new DualSense controller colours Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. These are due to go on sale worldwide in January 2022.
The console covers Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple have a slightly different release schedule. The black and red covers will also be available in January 2022 in the following locations: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. The pink, blue and purple covers will launch later in the first half of 2022 in the same places. Sony hopes to release these in additional territories through the course of the year.
Additionally, if you live in the US, UK, France, or Germany, some of these products will be available via early access via direct.playstation.com. The Midnight Black console cover will launch on the website January 21, before becoming more widely available from February 18.

Ps5 Price And Where To Buy
The Sony PlayStation 5 release date was November 12, 2020, in the US and a few other select markets. It arrived just a week later in several other major markets such as the UK.
The PS5 price is set at $499 for the regular edition or $399 for the Digital Edition. While the former is the same as the Xbox Series X, the all-digital Series S is actually cheaper than the PS5 Digital by $100. The PS5 Digital is more powerful than the Xbox Series S, but it is worth noting that the barrier of entry for next-gen gaming is cheaper if you opt for Microsofts ecosystem.

PS5 pre-orders launched September 17, though there were very limited quantities out of the gate. The new console sold out everywhere shortly after launch, with new stock coming in very irregularly. Sony announced before Thanksgiving and Black Friday that there will be new PlayStation 5 consoles coming into stock in the near future.

Since the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X debuted, finding a device has been a hard task for many. Online retailers havent had any. Some are reselling the devices for thousands on eBay, Amazon and other online retail websites.

Sony Playstation 5 Design
The Sony PS5 console as seen in the image above stands vertically and sports a black and white design that matches the all-new DualSense controller. Its also worth noting that there are two versions of the console the standard console and the slimmer Digital Edition. Both have the same basic design, with the latter missing an optical drive.
Both consoles are also massive. Theyre the largest home consoles ever released and are more on par with a PC tower when it comes to space requirements. Keep this in mind before purchase or it might have to live on the floor in front of your TV.
While the console ships with a futuristic black and white color scheme, the side panels are easy to remove. Sony has nixed the idea of custom panels for now . Nevertheless, you can buy vinyl skins to give your PS5 a more customized look.
Another benefit of the new removable panels is that its much easier to clean dust from the fans. This should help the console run cool and quiet, especially over time. In our PS5 review, we noted that the console runs quiet, but as dust builds up over time that might change.

What Games Are Available On The Ps5
The PS5 event on Thursday, 11th June revealed more confirmed PS5 games coming to the console.
Some of the most eagerly anticipated PS5 games revealed include Godfall, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Oddworld: Soulstorm, Resident Evil 8, Demons Souls, Grand Theft Auto V, Hitman 3 and Gran Turismo 7.

As for whether you will be able to update games for the PS4 to the new console that is the case- for certain games at least. The recently revealed box art for Immortals Fenyx Rising, formerly Gods and Monsters, shows it will be indeed be something you can do- which should be reassuring to those worried they may have to fork out for the same game twice when they invest in the PS5.
Forspoken May 24 2022
Not much is known about this mysterious title from Square Enix. The Future of Gaming trailer showed off a world full of dragons, magic, and breathtaking environments, but thats about it. It was previously called Project Athia, but finally has an official name, Forspoken. The title is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5, and a release date is yet to be announced, though Square Enix is aiming to launch it in spring 2022. Its an action RPG with some fantasy elements and a heavy emphasis on fast, fluid traversal.

Ps5 Review: Game Lineup
The PS5s launch lineup is off to a solid start. The console’s big marquee launch game is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a gorgeous and fun follow up to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man complete with ray-traced graphics and an optional 60 fps performance mode.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a simple but charming 3D platformer with lots of character customization, but Astro’s Playroom, the free pack-in game that shows off the DualSense controller, might be even better. Not since 2007’s Nintendo Wii has a console launched with a notable game included out of the gate, and Sony’s new platformer is oozing with fun collectibles and easter eggs for hardcore PlayStation fans.
If mature action’s more your thing, Godfall is a fun and beautiful action-RPG that feels like a marriage of the weighty combat of God of War 2018 and the deep loot system of Destiny. Want something more stylish? Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is an enhanced version of the stellar 2019 slash-em-up complete with both ray-tracing and 120 fps performance modes.
One of the PS5s biggest true launch exclusives is Demons Souls, a visually stunning remake of the beloved 2009 action/RPG of the same name. We’ve just started testing out Bluepoint’s new take on the cult favorite, so stay tuned for more impressions.
The problem is, you don’t need a PS5 to play many of these games. Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are also available on PS4, as are many of the big third-party games that arrived at launch.
Star Ocean: The Divine Force 2022
As announced during Sonys October 2021 State of Play event, Star Ocean: The Divine Forcewill launch for PS5 sometime in 2022. This long-running JRPG series will finally make its way to modern consoles after a six-year gap. The Divine Force will star two lead characters, Raymond and Laeticia, and the events of the story will unfold differently depending on who you play as. This is a niche title, but one with a die-hard fan base.

Playstation 5 Stock Shortage
Sony had only planned on the production of 5 million PlayStation 5 games consoles by the end of March 2021. However, as the popularity of gaming exploded during the first lockdowns, Sony doubled PlayStation production to meet 10 million units by the same date.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough.In May 2021, Sony privately warned analysts that PlayStation 5 shortages would continue until 2022: “I dont think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldnt be able to catch up with demand,” said Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s Chief Financial Officer.
On 12th November 2021 the PS5’s first birthday Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan addressed historic demand for the PS5 in a PlayStation.Blog post. Ryan admitted that “inventory constraints remain a source of frustration for our customers” and said that Sony is “laser-focussed” on shipping as many console units as possible.
It all sounds very positive but the truth is, the company expects to produce one million fewer consoles 15 million, rather than 16 million in the financial year ending March 2022.

Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

We are all so intrigued to see what a game where you play as the dual-personalities of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will actually be like. And thankfully, that’s exactly what Daedalic Entertainment is going to give us. It’s been unveiled as one of the confirmed upcoming PS5 games, and will arrive sometime in 2021 to let you play as Gollum.
The creature starts out as a prisoner in Barad-dûr, a fortress in Mordor, but eventually you will traverse more of Middle-Earth, with the developer promising “giant, persistent environments, each harbouring several questlines and a range of friendly or unfriendly faces” in an interview with Edge Magazine in early 2020. During that interview the game is also described as a “stealth-action-adventure with an intriguing dual-personality mechanic, gigantic levels, and a densely wrought aesthetic inspired by Tolkien’s own drawings”.

Starfield November 11 2022
Bethesda Game Studios next major project is a new franchise its first in two decades. Its called Starfield, and theres a tremendous amount of hype behind it. Bethesda has revealed just as little about the game as it has The Elder Scrolls VI, but it will involve outer space. A teaser shown at E3 2018 included a satellite floating near a black hole. Bethesda has also confirmed that Starfield will be a single-player game, building on the studios tradition in keeping most of its games to only one person. Bethesda hasnt shown off much of Starfield yet, so there are a lot of questions we have about it.
Target Ps5 Restock Date
Target PS5 restock dates have been hard to nail down. That’s because the retailer tends to drop inventory in certain regions. For instance, someone in Chicago could see PS5 inventory at their local store, whereas a New Yorker might not see any inventory whatsoever. In addition, Target tends to do early morning restocks that occur around 8 a.m. ET. That said, their last restock sold out in minutes.

Sign In To Your Playstation Network Account
Using the small sign-in button in black at the top right of the page, or the other blue sign-in button further down, you need to log in to your PSN account. Anyone who currently plays on an existing Sony system such as the PS4 will have one so it may be a case of digging out your login details or resetting them if they’ve slipped your mind.
If the PS5 will be your first Sony console and you don’t have a PSN account, you can register using the same buttons too. Just go through the account creation process and then you’re ready to go.
Playstation 5 Price Vs Xbox Series X Price
So, how does the PS5 compare to the Xbox Series X on price? Better than many expected, as it happens.
The Xbox Series X and the full-fat PS5 are identically priced, at £449 .
Both consoles also have a disc drive-less, cheaper sibling: that’s the Xbox Series S and the PS5 Digital Edition. This is where things get really interesting, because the Xbox Series S costs only £250 , whereas the PS5 Digital Edition is £360 .
That’s a big step up, but it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Series X but the PS5 Digital Edition is identical to the standard PS5 except for the lack of a disc drive. In other words, the PS5 Digital Edition is more of a proper next-gen games console than the Xbox Series S.
