Due to the pandemic, most retailers, including Best Buy and Target, will only sell the console online until further notice. We see restocks happening multiple times in the week from various retailers most notably, we have seen frequent restocks recently appear at Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart in particular. If you are looking for a bundle, retailers like Antonline and Newegg are likely to sell PS5 bundles instead of the actual console.
We have noticed that restocks for the console are more likely to happen later in the week as opposed to earlier in the week. Additionally, places like Newegg are combatting the demand for this console by doing a Newegg Shuffle, which randomly selects winners interested in buying sought-after products.
Every PS5 comes with one DualSense controller, but you can use the DualShock 4 controller, but it is only limited to when youre playing PS4 games on the next-gen console.

Playstation 5 Price: Recent History
After much waiting, Sony announced the price and release date of the PS5 during its 16th September showcase. The Japanese giant’s 40-minute digital event featured “a look at some of the great games coming to the PS5 at launch “.
The real draw, however, was the promise of the price finally being revealed. Sony didn’t disappoint, with the PS5 Digital and PS5 prices set at £360 and £450 . That came as a pleasant surprise to those who’d expected the PS5 to be priced much higher than the rival Xbox Series X.
So how does the PS5’s price compare to that of its predecessors?
Both the original PlayStation and PS2 launched at £299 in 1994 and 2000 respectively. The PS3 was quite the step up in 2006, with the entry-level 20GB model starting at £425 although that was more or less in line with inflation with regard to the original PlayStation, and there were also the significant hardware upgrades to factor in, not least of all being the Blu-ray optical drive.
Nonetheless, the PS3 was initially criticised partly for its seemingly high price. The 60GB model’s $599 price tag took particularly heavy flack. By the arrival of the PS3 Slim in 2009, though, all seemed to have been forgiven.
The bigger public surprise was saved for the 2013 PS4 launch, however, when the PlayStation price dropped down to £350 and heralded the arrival of one of the best-selling games consoles of all time.

When Was The Ps5 Released
The PS5 was released on 19 November in the UK and sold out instantly. Some of the people who pre-ordered the console on Amazon found themselves greeted with not a shiny new PS5, but a bag of grain, a grill or some cat food instead. Despite being out for more than eight months now, the PS5 is still extremely difficult to find.

Updates:PS5 Inventory is coming in across multiple retailers weekly, specifically with Playstation.com but it really depends retailer by retailer. Global Semiconductor Chip Shortages are also affecting PS5 production.
On the Playstation.com website console Pre-Orders were invite only. Invitations opened 9/18/2020 at 10AM PT and we confirmed that the process worked for many but not for all. The window was open until 10AM Pt on 9/19/2020. Playstation is selling Games and accessories in their website store. Burger King and Doritos were some of the retailers giving away the PS5 to a very small number of random winners.

Xbox Series X Restocks At Gamestop
GameStop tends to sell the Xbox Series X and S in the form of pricey bundles that include accessories like an extra controller or Game Pass. It most recently restocked the Xbox Series X and Series S in bundles in early October for PowerUp Rewards Pro members. GameStop also had the Halo Infinite-themed Xbox Series X on October 12 and October 14 .

Playstation 5 Price Vs Xbox Series X Price
So, how does the PS5 compare to the Xbox Series X on price? Better than many expected, as it happens.
The Xbox Series X and the full-fat PS5 are identically priced, at £449 .
Both consoles also have a disc drive-less, cheaper sibling: that’s the Xbox Series S and the PS5 Digital Edition. This is where things get really interesting, because the Xbox Series S costs only £250 , whereas the PS5 Digital Edition is £360 .
That’s a big step up, but it’s worth pointing out that the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Series X but the PS5 Digital Edition is identical to the standard PS5 except for the lack of a disc drive. In other words, the PS5 Digital Edition appears to be more of a proper next-gen games console than the Xbox Series S.

Ps5 Restocks At Playstation Direct
PlayStation Direct regularly opens up a queue for shoppers to buy the PS5 , but it’s often over an hour wait and unclear if the PS5 is even available. Still, it’s worth checking PS Direct often, as it’s the only store still releasing the PS5 on a somewhat regular basis. However, the queues appear to also be somewhat random.
Note that finding a queue on PS Direct doesn’t necessarily mean the PS5 is in stock it simply indicates high traffic to the store. It never hurts to jump in and wait if you find the queue and you’ll be at your computer for a while, but know there’s no guarantee it’ll be in stock by the time you get through.

You can already save on cheap PS5 games to kickstart your new collection, but we’re also keeping an eye out for any PS5 controller deals. These have become more regular, especially now that the new colorways are out in the wild.
The PS5 price is set at $499 , which matches Microsoft’s Xbox Series X. However. you can also pick up a Digital Edition without a disc drive for $399.99 / £359.99 / AU$599.95. While we don’t see that PS5 price dropping any time soon, and certainly not before stock becomes more reliable, there are ways to save on your next-gen experience.

Ps5 Restocks: Here Are The Latest Ps5 Stock Updates & How To Find One
Looking buy a PS5? Well, so do millions of other people and the stock levels that we’ve seen so far are tight, even nearly a year after its launch. Every time a retailer puts stock up for sale, it sells out super quickly. The longest we’ve seen them stay in stock is maybe 15 – 20 minutes , and that’s at random times, so finding one for yourself can be a difficult task. Sony has warned that it will be hard to find stock throughout the year and into 2022, but retailers are promising more is coming and Sony has secured more semiconductor chips to make them.
In our PS5 review, we called it a technical marvel with a groundbreaking controller. After spending a few months with it now, it’s nearly impossible to go back to the PS4. Everything about the PS5 is better, and you’ll want to experience it for yourself whenever you get the chance.
What About Ps5 Bundles And Deals
We’ve only seen one official PS5 bundle and that was with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and that was limited to a release in the UK and EU only with no sign of it in the US. This didn’t offer any sort of discount though, so it’s not like anyone was missing out.
Other PS5 bundles created by retailers have appeared. Usually with extra games, controllers, and other accessories. However, we don’t really recall seeing many offering any sort of discount – you’d easily be able to buy the extra items for less individually elsewhere. These bundles are essentially taking advantage of the huge demand for stock and getting even more money from a sale. Some retailers have even bundled the PS5 with more bizarre items like PC monitors, often at what are clearly inflated prices for often very average pieces of tech. Sadly, even these deals are still selling out.
Suffice to say, retailers have been very busy over the last few months. And after everything we’ve seen recently, there’s more than enough reason to consider picking up the PS5. For starters, all the upcoming PS5 games are shaping up to be something special. Secondly, the system’s blindingly fast loading times improve the user experience by leaps and bounds even on older PS4 games.

John Lewis & Partners last had a PS5 drop at 7am on 3 August. As usual with the retailer, it didnt last very long, but it does always seem to drop at 7am like clockwork.
The retailer only appears to get a couple of thousand consoles or less each time new stock comes in, so were not expecting anything big the next time theres a drop. When it happens, we recommend checking out via the app people have seen more success through this method.

Even though we’re getting close to a year out from launch, the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital tend to sell out within minutes at major retailers . Console restocks tend to pop up sporadically, with a couple of restocks each week. A lot of the restocks we’ve seen lately are for in-store pickup, which perhaps signifies a push to get more people in stores as the holidays approach. We also still regularly see PS5 bundles at GameStop, but even those tend to sell out very quickly. PS Direct is the most consistent with restocks, and ahead of the holiday season, PlayStation has opened up a registration system for the chance to buy the PS5. You simply need a free PSN account to register. Once registered, PlayStation will contact you via email if/when you get an invite to buy the PS5 from PS Direct.
