The console wars have notoriously been brutal throughout history. Ever since Genesis does what Nintendont, competing console companies have worked hard to ensure that theyre staying on top of their rivals. Since the sixth generation of console gaming, the two biggest competitors in their field have been Sony and Microsoft although Nintendo has remained relevant throughout, the Japanese giant isnt really competing on the same level as the two titans mentioned above.
Even though Sony and Microsoft have been competing for many years , that same sense of eternal battle doesnt necessarily apply to the gamers themselves. While many fans of both PlayStation and Xbox like to argue bitterly in comments sections and on forums, others simply want to play games with one another despite their differences in platform. The question, then, becomes thus: can PS4 and Xbox play together?
The answer is somewhat complicated. In short, the answer to can PS4 and Xbox play together is it depends. Some games support total crossplay between the platforms, meaning that no matter which platform youre on, youll be able to buddy up with players from other platforms and play games with them with no impediments whatsoever. How Does Dying Light 2 Co
In Dying Light 2, up to four players can play co-op together . During co-op play, each player is free to roam Villedor as they see fit, though it’s important to note that everyone has to stay relatively close to the host during quests . Notably, quests don’t progress for anyone other than the host, so if you have a quest you’d like to complete with your friends, it has to be in your game session. In situations where quests feature dialogue options with NPCs, each co-op player can vote for which option they’d like to select, though the host has the power to override the votes.
Loot drops and the contents of searchable containers are localized for each player, meaning that you don’t need to fight amongst yourselves over crafting materials, consumables, or gear. Players connected to the host’s game get to keep everything they earned or found while playing in co-op including XP permanently. However, this does go both ways, meaning that if you use or lose items while playing in a friend’s game session, they’ll be gone when you return to singleplayer as well.

You can send invites to your Realm via your Friends tab or invite via a link if youre playing on a PC. Clicking the link will launch the Minecraft app. Console players will need to be invited via friends list.
After joining the Realm for the first time, you will be able to return to it whenever you want from your Friends tab. The Reams youve joined will appear under Joinable Realms, as long as the Realm is still online.

You will first need to download the Epic Games launcher, which you will find at this address. Once you have downloaded it, simply install it on your PC and proceed to the next step.

Joining A Friends Game
If your friend is playing in their own hosted session, you can join them straight through the game. As long as youre friends via Microsoft, you can join their session by scrolling over to the Friends tab and looking under Joinable Cross-Platform Friends.
These sessions can only hold up to eight people at once.
If youre invited to join a session, a pop-up will appear that you can either accept or decline.

The latest episode in the Grand Theft Auto series from Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V, came out almost seven years ago. Since then, GTA V has had releases on all the major consoles, and finally, on PC. With all of those players adding up to a huge fanbase, youd think they could play together, right?

Co-op play is unfortunately not available at the start of Dying Light 2’s campaign, but thankfully, it doesn’t take too long to unlock it either. This tab lets you see which of your friends are currently online and are joinable, including those on the same platform and those playing elsewhere. From here you can just choose a game you want to join.

Joining a Realm. The Bedrock Edition on Playstation 4 will also recieve full support for servers and Realms. They’re not there at release, but are promised to be added in a future update. Microsoft is opening up its Xbox Live online service to gamers on other platforms namely, PlayStation 4 and PC. Whoa.

In a move thats up there with Sonic the Hedgehog appearing next to Super Mario in a video game, Microsoft announced this morning on its Xbox blog that its opening up the Xbox Live online platform the service you use to play games online through an Xbox One or Xbox 360 to every platform.
First, in addition to natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, were enabling developers to support cross-network play as well. This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks including other console and PC networks.
Thats a huge move.
It means games like Destiny or Call of Duty could be played online, together, by players who are on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It means Microsoft is putting the ball in Sonys court on doing the right thing: making as many cross-platform games as possible playable across both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Thats dumb. Microsoft is saying, We agree. That is dumb. Enough., and enabling game makers who are developing games for both platforms the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One to allow online play across both. Rad!
