Step 1. Plug the USB flash drive into your computer.

The Last of Us is finally out, and now I get to share in the joy of having others play it, as there have been few others to talk to about the game when I beat my review copy a week ago. I’ll probably have some commentary about the surely controversial ending soon, but first I thought I’d chime in with a few tips regarding gameplay I didn’t cover or only brushed on during my official review.
Obviously, part of the fun of the game is figuring out how to play it as you go, but that said, I don’t think a few non-spoilery tips about early game decisions will hurt. Read on if you like, or simply figure everything out for yourself as you play. Up to you.
– First of all, you can’t think you’re going to play this game like a normal third person shooter. You will undoubtedly try to at the beginning, and will get incredibly frustrated at the “clunky” controls and your lack of ammo. Stealth is key, but even when things spill into open combat, running and hiding and living to fight another day is often your best bet. Breaking line of sight and sneaking back around for the kill is almost always a better plan than rampaging around in the open.
– Your first gun upgrades should be the holsters for your long gun and pistol, which will allows easy access to two more weapons which you will absolutely need as soon as possible.
– Get the rifle scope as soon as you can, it turns that gun from useless into essential instantly.

The fastest way to platinum is to get all collectibles on the first playthrough and play on the lowest difficulty Very Light. The trophies are dead simple: just get all collectibles and the rest will come automatically along the way.

Semi-Auto Pistol â Fire Rate . This is your basic, all-around handgun. You’ll find a lot of ammo for it scattered around, but it’s not gonna be super useful for tougher Infected enemies. Basically, you’ll want this for quick damage while someone’s rushing you or while you’re evading a swarm. This is the weapon to use when the situation calls for speed and evasion, not big damage, so enhancing the Fire Rate is the way to go here.
Bolt-Action Rifle â 6X Scope . It’s on the pricier end of the upgrade spectrum, but your primary use for the rifle is gonna be long-distance headshots from cover. Damage is nice to have if you’ve got parts to spare, but generally, your shotgun or revolver is gonna be better for close-up damage.
Revolver â Damage . Revolver ammo isn’t as common as you’d hope, and you’ll need to use it somewhat sparingly. It’s best to save these bad boys for Infected or big tough human baddies with daunting melee weapons. The reload is awfully slow but you’re better off swapping weapons than burning through all your revolver ammo in one fell swoop.
Pump Shotgun â Fire Rate . The shotgun is great for tough Infected enemies, and you’ll want to get shots off fast and hightail it out of there, so Fire Rate gets the slight edge. Capacity is a good second pick.
