What Is Better Xbox Or Ps5

Don't Miss

Is Ps5 More Powerful Than Xbox Series X Or Vice

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Which Does What Best?

The PS5 CPU is a custom third-generation Ryzen chip . As for the PS5 GPU, it’s a heavily customized variant of AMD’s Radeon Navi, which can simulate 3D audio and support ray-tracing. More specifically, it offers 10.28 teraFLOPs and 36 CUs at 2.23GHz. That’s paired with 16GB GDDR6 RAM. In terms of storage, the PS5 packs a custom 825GB SSD running at 5.5GB per second.

In terms of extra storage, while Sony revealed that we would be able to plug in additional SSD support via PCIe 4.0 to expand space for games, it hasnt activated that feature just yet. Given the price of this speed of SSD, its not going to be a cheap endeavor when it is actively turned on but if youre running low on space, you can use regular USB drives to store your games. As announced in a Sony blog post, you just wont be able to run them from the drive and have to transfer to the PS5 before playing.

Now onto the Xbox Series X specs. Like Sony, Microsoft worked with AMD to co-engineer a custom system-on-chip platform . It also has an eight-core Zen 2 system, but the Xbox Series X version clocks in at 3.8GHz. Meanwhile, the GPU can handle 12 teraFLOPs with 52 CUs at 1.825GHz. This allows Xbox Series X to support hardware-accelerated real-time ray-tracing, leading to gorgeous visuals. Finally, the console has 16GB GDDR6 RAM with a hefty 1TB SSD running at 2.4GB per second. If you want more, it can be supported with the official Xbox Series X Storage Expansion Card that offers an extra 1TB of space.

Xbox Series X Vs Ps: Outlook

While there is a lot yet to be decided, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are on a pretty level playing field with the launches just around the corner now.

The specs for the PS5 don’t quite hold up to the Xbox Series X, and until Sony can show real-world results that its hardware is up to the challenge, we have to give the performance nod to the Xbox Series X.

Sony continues to have the more popular lineup of exclusive titles and no major shakeups or announced exclusives have changed this yet, although Microsoft is not shy about planning to buy up more game studios. For now, the Xbox Series X offers considerably more backward compatibility for nostalgic or lapsed gamers that want to play the greatest hits.

The PS5 also has one of the few clear differentiators between the two consoles in the form of PSVR, but with Sony dumping cold water on the idea of a PSVR 2 coming soon, it’s hard to put too much weight behind VR on the PS5 either.

This is shaping up to be a much closer competition than the Xbox One vs. PS4 at launch, but based on the pricing and Microsoft suffering some blows like the delay to Halo Infinite, I think the PS5 has claimed a slight lead as time ticks down to the next-gen launch.

Nintendo Switch And Nintendo Switch Oled

At a glance: The $299 Nintendo Switch is a small, lightweight console with a creative conceit: Its also a full-fledged handheld device. As its name suggests, you can use the Switch two ways: in your hands, playing the game on a colorful six-inch screen, or docked to your TV, with a more traditional controller.

The newer $349 Nintendo Switch OLED, which comes out on October 8, offers a bigger 7-inch OLED display, a wider adjustable stand, a dock with a wired LAN port, 64GB of storage and enhanced audio. The $199 handheld-only Nintendo Switch Lite doesn’t include a dock but is a good affordable option for those who don’t want to play on a TV.

As a Nintendo console, the Switch is especially kid-friendly, hosting beloved series like Super Mario, Pokémon and The Legend of Zelda. But its got a lot of appeal for adults as well, with a never-ending parade of creative indie games, as well as third-party ports from Doom to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Pros: It almost goes without saying, but the ability to pick up your console and take your games with you anywhere is a revolutionary idea. The Switch really is as seamless as Nintendo advertises. Plug it into the dock, and your game shows up on a TV pick up the console, and it becomes a handheld device. Its impossible to overstate how much of a game-changer this can be, if you live in a single-TV household.

Exclusive series: The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Splatoon, Super Mario, Super Smash Bros.

Xbox Series X: Most Powerful Hardware

If you’re more about graphics, FPS, and more bang for your buck, then the Xbox Series X is going to be your go-to platform, unless you can fork out enough for a beefy gaming rig. It has better tech than the PlayStation 5, all neatly packed into a small-ish tower.

Microsoft has boasted that it will be able to handle 12o FPS, which is double the current standard, and it will have ray-tracing, along with some other tidbits such as a 2GB SSD.

Ps5 Release Date When Is It Out

Here’s what you need to know about the PlayStation 5 launch…

In a blog post, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that theres been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.

“Today Im proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and well be launching in time for Holiday 2020.”

That’s not a specific date, but it’s effectively a promise that you’ll be able to buy it in the run-up to Christmas 2020.

In reality, that probably means the new console going on sale in October or November.

That’s a great time for a new console to come out, as those months are when blockbuster releases like new Call of Duty games typically happen.

So what’s the likeliest date? Well the PS4 launched on November 15, 2013 a Friday.

And the PS4 Pro launched on November 10, 2016 a Thursday.

Based on those launches, we predict either a November 12 or 13 PS5 release date in 2020.

We spoke to gadget expert Paolo Pescatore, who said the console will have a premium price, thanks to the slick new design and high performance.

“Expect a price point somewhere between £400-500 for both models,” said savvy analyst Paolo, of PP Foresight, speaking to The Sun.

“Obviously the digital only version should be cheaper .

He added: “Watch out for some introductory bundles at launch.”

“Microsoft is going to wait for Sony to blink first.”

Budget Version: Ps5 Digital Edition Vs Xbox Series S

  • Plays all Xbox Series X games

  • Priced at $299 .

Sony and Microsoft will both offer pared-down versions of their consoles as budget-friendly options. The PS5 Digital Edition is expected to have the same basic hardware as the PS5, with the exclusion of a disc drive. This all-digital console is rumored to play PS5 games with the same visual quality as the regular PS5.

Microsoft went a different way with their Xbox Series S, which packs in weaker hardware than the Xbox Series X. It will still play Xbox Series X games, but at lower settings and resolutions. It will also forgo a disc drive to cut costs, making it a download-only console.

While both of these options are decent alternatives if you’re working on a budget, the lower price of the Xbox Series S, along with the option to pay for the console monthly along with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, makes it the better option for budget-conscious gamers.

Xbox Series X Controller

Which Console is Better NOW? PS5 VS Xbox Series X

The Xbox Series X controller isnt drastically different from the Xbox One controller. There is a new share button, which works much like the same button on the DualShock 4, as well as an updated directional pad based on the Xbox One Elite 2 controllers pad. It also features a slightly different design. Its most noticeable change is the new Share button in the center, serving as a way to upload and manage screenshots and videos.

The controller is cross-generation compatible with Xbox One, as are the Xbox Ones accessories. This means any controllers that players already own for Xbox One will work on the new system. It seems Microsoft is going in a totally different direction from Sony when it comes to next-generation controllers. Microsoft is showing that, once again, consumer-friendly decisions like these are at the forefront. The new Xbox Series X controller also features a USB-C charge port instead of the Micro USB found on previous versions.

The PS5 vs Xbox Series X battle is a fierce one. We’ve reviewed both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it’s fair to say that we’re impressed with both systems. Both new consoles can deliver up to 8K resolutions, high frame rates, powerful processors and speedy SSDs. But which of the two systems is the superior gaming machine and which of them offers the better library?

Toms Guide has compared the two consoles head-to-head, and without spoiling the results, its a very close contest between two high-quality consoles. Read on to discover how each system fares in our PS5 vs. Xbox Series X faceoff. And be aware that, as is always the case, the best console is the one that supports the games you want to play.

While the specs are handy to know, they only tell part of the story when it comes to performance. As such, this section isnt scored. However, we can say that the Xbox Series X has more powerful hardware, in terms of both GPU and SSD. Check out the performance section to see how this hardware performs in action.

Games Pass And Pc Integration

Game Passs value will depend on your game preferences, but theres no denying that Game Pass Ultimate is one of the best deals in gaming. Microsoft literally throws in their exclusive games the same day they release, which is a completely different business model compared to Sonys. Surprisingly, the 2021 release of the previously PlayStation exclusive MLB The Show series is now going to launch on Games Pass.

Considering all the studios Microsoft has acquired, means the selection has only gotten better, especially with the addition of a backlog of ZeniMax/Bethesda games. On Games Pass the games span across different generations of consoles. For a monthly subscription fee, a user gets access to a library of games on Xbox and PC with Ultimate, in addition to Xbox Live Gold, and game streaming. Microsoft has even partnered with EA to include EAs own subscription service EA Play into the mix. There are cheaper versions that dont include everything if your only interested in one platform.

Xbox play anywhere program allows for Xbox exclusives purchased once to be played on Xbox consoles and PC. The Xbox controllers also play a lot nicer with PC then PlayStation controllers. No third-party work arounds are necessary, Bluetooth compatibility is better and you will get more accurate in-game button representation.

Playstation 5 Vs Xbox Series X: Who Has The Better 2021 Exclusives

PS5 vs Xbox Series X: Which Is Better?

This is an incredibly close call, but in the interest of naming a winner for the sake of conversation, Im going with the PlayStation 5.

Ad content continues below

The thing is that I honestly think the Xbox Series X may end up having the better 2021 games lineup overall largely due to the number of indie titles the console is supporting and the value of Game Pass. In fact, were reaching a point where its hard to separate Game Pass from Xbox. If youre a Game Pass subscriber, youre about to be able to access more modern games in 2021 than you may have ever had access to in your entire gaming life. Its a great time to be an Xbox gamer.

If were just talking exclusives, though, then I cant discount the fact that the only Triple-A Xbox exclusive that Im confident is coming out this year is Forza Horizon 5 . Even if Halo Infinite is released this year, serious questions remain regarding what kind of shape its in and how much of it well get.

By comparison, PlayStation 5s major exclusives for the year include Returnal, Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, timed exclusives Deathloop and Ghostwire Tokyo, and notable remasters Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intergrade and Death Stranding: Directors Cut. Im certainly worried about the PS5s lack of games between those releases, but Im more confident that each of those games is going to great than Im confident that some of those smaller Xbox titles are going to live up to what is certainly the high-end of their potential.

Xbox Series X’s Quick Resume

It’s impossible to talk about the differences a game has on the Xbox Series X and PS5 without mentioning one of the key features of the Xbox. Quick Resume is a bit of tech with a simple premise — players can switch from game to game in a matter of seconds, picking up right where they left off. It’s an impressive feature, one that is noticeably absent on the PS5.

While both consoles boast low loading times, the ability to hop right from another game to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is undeniably impressive. This feature also plays somewhat to the fast-paced nature of the latest Call of Duty title. Whenever a player wants to get their adrenaline pumping, all they have to do is use Quick Resume and they’re back in a game that can get it done.

Better Video Output: High Dynamic Range And Variable Refresh Rate

The Xbox Series X has support for Dolby Vision in addition to HDR10. Dolby Vision is regarded as the superior HDR format, which is supported while streaming video on the Series X. PS5 lacks this feature, right now its not a big deal, but eventually when games start supporting this feature the Series X might offer more HDR impact. PS5 also cant output 1440p, which means monitors with this resolution are better suited to the Series X, which does support it. Depending on the display, this means PS5 may be limited to 1080p if the monitor cant accept a 4k signal, or when outputting 120hz on HDMI 2.0 displays. The PS5 also has a reduced HDMI 2.1 bandwidth compared to the Series X, meaning outputting a 4K 120hz HDR signal will require the use of chroma subsampling , compared to the lossless RGB output on Xbox.
