Ps5 Release Date News
At the time of writing Marvels Spider-Man 2 doesnt have a firm release date, but Insomniac Games has confirmed that the game will release in 2023. Given that were expecting to see God of War Ragnarok towards the end of 2022, as well as a Remaster of The Last of Us too, we think Marvels Spider-Man 2 is more likely to arrive in the latter part of 2023.
Its also worth saying that the game could quite easily be delayed. We know Sony hasnt been phased giving their tentpole games more time if they need it, and with Insomniac Games also developing at the same time, we wouldnt be surprised if one of the two games is held back to 2024.
What Editions Are There And What Can I Get For Pre
Beyond being able to preload the game to start playing as soon as the above-listed release time arrives, there are a few pre-order-specific perks that can be unlocked by purchasing the game before launch. It should be noted, however, that all of this content can be unlocked through standard gameplay, you’re just getting it earlier than you normally would.
- T.R.A.C.K. Suit Zip up the Time Response Activated Circuit Kinetic Suit and unlock the Untrackable Suit Mod.
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Suit Use the Vibe the Verse Suit Mod to mimic the aesthetic of a different Earth from the Sony Pictures Animation film.
- Gravity Well Gadget Get a web up with the early unlock of this new combat device that pulls enemies together to knock them down and disarm them.
- Extra Skill Points Learn new powers and combat abilities more quickly with extra skill points to spend.
Beyond these pre-order bonuses, it’s worth reiterating how the Miles Morales editions work as well. On PS4, there is just one edition of the game, but things are slightly different if you decide to buy on PS5.
- Standard edition : Comes with just the Spider-Man: Miles Morales game.
- Ultimate Edition : Comes with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and . If you want to see what the first game in the series looks like when upgraded for PS5, you’ll need to pay $20 extra.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available November 12 on PS5 and PS4.

What Could Insomniac Be Working On
Obviously, must be at some stage of development. Given its success both critically and financially, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that sequels will happen. While some fans want it to be built for the PS4, its development cycle will likely take longer than two years. A credible rumor from Kinda Funny‘s Imran Khan placed it as a holiday 2021 release. As such, it will likely be a PS5 exclusive.
As for 2020, a new Ratchet & Clank game seems far more likely as the next game in the pipeline that might even be a PS5 launch title. Entries in the series have often been launched as a Sony exclusive previously, and it has been almost four years since the last game in the series was released. PS5’s launch seems like the perfect time to reintroduce the series to players. Sacred Symbol‘s Colin Moriarty reported that Sony has plans to do just this.
Insomniac Games may also be working on other PS5 projects that we just don’t know about yet. The company has extensive VR experience with titles like Stormland, so Sony could put them on a PSVR title if that’s a peripheral they want to support more in the coming years.
No matter what they put out, Insomniac Games will definitely be the developer to watch during the course of the PS5’s lifespan.

Who Is Developing Marvel’s Spider
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is being developed by the award-winning team at Insomniac responsible for 2018’s . Bryan Intihar will be returning as creative director and Ryan Smith is back as game director. The duo have decades of experience between them, having worked on everything from the Resistance series through to Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive. Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter are set to reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, respectively. It looks like the creative team that helped get Spider-Man: Miles Morales out the door will now be turning their attention to Insomniac’s other project, .
Who Are Marvel’s Spider
Both previous games have featured several different villains, but the trailer makes it clear that Kraven the Hunter and Venom are the main two villains. The Venom Symbiote has almost certainly taken over Harry Osborn.
The first game also leaves Harrys father, Norman Osborn, in a dark place: Hes resigned as mayor of New York, and he’s growing increasingly desperate to find a cure for Harrys terminal illness. It becomes increasingly clear that Norman is spiraling into madness. The vast amounts of wealth and lab technology he has access to allow him to pursue more extreme measures to help his son. When MJ sneaks into his lab, she discovers a prototype mask, blueprints for a hovercraft, and three purple grenades.
In the first games conclusion, Harry is in critical condition and a stasis chamber full of green liquid. A black, web-like substance is seen encasing his body. The black goo is extremely similar to the Symbiote fans have seen in the Spider-Man comics and films. In Miles Morales, Norman also finally releases Harry in the post-credits scene, so hes probably the Venom we see.
Also, when we revisited the plot thread in Spider-Man: Miles Morales post-credits scene, Curt Connors was present. His brief appearance almost definitely sets him up for a larger role in the sequel. From the blood sample found in the first game, it seems that Connors has already transformed into the Lizard once hell likely return to his supervillain persona.
will be released sometime in 2023.

Is Venom In The Game
One of the coolest reveals from the initial trailer shown for was none other than Venom. He is shown right at the end, popping out from a darkened alleyway to face Miles and Peter. The Spider-Man logo is then shown on a black backdrop, surely a nod to the black symbiote Spider-Man suit from the comics. Its clear that Venom will play a big part here, and its possible that we may see Peter doing battle with the symbiote. Insomniac has drafted in Candyman actor Tony Todd to voice Venom, giving that classic feel that may remind you of Venom from the cartoons.
Something to keep in mind is that when ended, there were post-credits teasers. One saw Harry Osbourne floating in a tank of what looked like black sticky goo. Could Norman Osbourne have created the symbiote to save his son? Is that Harry in there? Time will tell.
Is There A Marvel’s Spider
Yes! During the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase, Sony released a teaser trailer for the game, included below:
In it, we catch glimpses of Peter and Miles fighting random enemies together, using various powers and gadgets to take them down in unique ways. After finishing up the battle with a tag-team attack, they hear a sound from a nearby alleyway.
During all of this, we hear a gruff voice doing the voice-over. He says the following:
For as long as I can remember, I have looked for an equal, one who could push me. One who could surprise me. One who could even beat me. Yet all I found, is disappointment. Will one of you finally give me what I desire?
Anyone who knows their Spider-Man lore will recognize Kraven the Hunter even though we never see him. Somewhat less surprising than Kraven showing up is who answers his question: From the alley, Venom says, Yesssss…we will. When Venom says we, is he talking about the Symbiote and its host? Or is he talking about himself and the two Spider-Men?

Which Villains Could Feature
So we know that Venom will be in , but who else? For one, Peter Parker could end up being something of an antagonist, if Venom gets his way. Theres also a voice throughout the trailer that sounds an awful lot like Kraven the Hunter. He is an absolute fan favourite character, so were hoping he is indeed a part of the next game. Besides those two we dont have much else to go on. end credits seemed to set up Norman Osbourne as a villain, and there were countless references to villains like Morbius throughout the game too. Then theres Black Cat, who got a fair bit of screen time in the City That Never Sleeps DLC. Could she be making a return? We think its highly likely.
