Open Reflector on your computer and wirelessly mirror your iPhone, iPad or Android device to your computer screen.

Important: You need to verify a few settings to make sure your iPhone, iPad or Android device screen shares to OBS properly. Once the device is connected to Reflector, hover your cursor over the mirrored device and click the settings cog next to the device name. Ensure “Always on Top” and “Fullscreen” are toggled off. Bitrate is the number of bits processed in one second. In general, the higher the bitrate is, the better the quality of your stream turns out. However, high bitrates can also put a massive strain on your hardware, causing unstable video streams.

Your chosen bitrates depend on your computer, encoder type, and internet upload speed. It also depends on your resolution and framerates. Bitrates are only expected to go up when the resolution and frame rates increase.

For example, Twitch recommends a bitrate of 6000 kbps when streaming at 1920×1080 and 50 fps, or 3000 kbps at 1280×70 and 30 fps.

Once you have determined your bitrate, go to OBS> File> Settings> Output> under Streaming, enter your Video Bitrate and choose your Encoder

On the left sidebar, go to Video> choose your Base Resolution, your Output Resolution, Downscale Filter, and Common FPS Values.

Twitch recommends a Full HD resolution setting is 1080p with 60 fps. The higher your frame rates are, the more encoding power youll need so choose a frame rate according to your devices capacity.

Audio Settings

Audio is another essential factor of the quality of your livestream.

On the left sidebar, click Audio> choose a sample rate between 44.1 or 48 kHz.

Install And Connect Streaming Software To Twitch

You can use any of the software solutions we mentioned earlier. But for the purpose of this post, we will use OBS Studio for demonstrations and examples. After installing OBS on your computer/phone, youll be asked to choose between auto-configuration wizard or manual set up 9which we recommend).

Head over to File > Settings > Stream. Select Twitch as your service. Then, you can connect your Twitch account to OBS by providing your Twitch login credentials.

You will see an encoded value in a file labelled Primary Stream Key. Click on the Copy button next to it.

The Nintendo Switch can stream to many live streaming services like Twitch, however there is one major caveat. It doesnt include any internal streaming hardware that other gaming consoles provide.

Best Audio Settings For Obs

The Audio tab has a couple settings we want to make sure are set up properly to ensure no audio issues on stream.

For Sample Rate you can change it to 48 kHz because that is the default Windows setting. Nothing bad happens if you leave it at 44kHz, but since we are discussing the best OBS settings for Twitch you might as well right?

In the Devices panel select your desktop audio source and also select your microphone so OBS has no trouble hearing you, or hearing your desktop sounds such as music, game sounds, etc.

Meters you can leave at default settings. In my case, I decided to use True Peak in the Peak Meter Type option although it is completely unnecessary. It basically gives me a more accurate reading of how loud I actually am .

Finally, you have the Hotkeys options which are self-explanatory. You can designate a specific key to do the action depicted in the tab.
