- Monster Hunter World– a black console with dark grey and red detailing.
- Star Wars Battlefront II– a black console with silver and red Star Wars decals. Note: there was also a Battlefront II Pro bundle that came with a standard black Pro.

Is The Difference In Gameplay Quality Noticeable Compared To The Ps4 Pro
The major difference between the slim PS4 and PS4 Pro is the formers inability to play games at 4K resolution. Thankfully this is the kind of flourish only really made noticeable when comparing the same game side by side, and those with a HDTV and a PS4 Slim will still see some improvements in HDR. Both the Pro and the Slim sport the same neat stacked design.
Ps5 Slim: Why I’m Hoping Sony Releases One And What I’d Love To See From It
Opinion: A PlayStation 5 Slim should be Sony’s next big gaming console move
ByDavid NieldLast updated 2021-08-10T15:51:28.623Z
Ever since Sony unveiled the PlayStation 5 I’ve been hoping for a PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro to follow it. Remember that the same second-gen hardware refresh was introduced with the PlayStation 4 I think it’s likely Sony would do the same this time around.
If the PS5 Slim does make an appearance in the future, then I’d expect it to follow the blueprint set down by the PS4 Slim. In other words, I’d expect it to be more compact and less noisy than the original PS5, as well as producing less in the way of heat.
Even if you love the Sony PlayStation 5, there’s no doubt that it’s a beast of a gaming console as far as its giant size and aesthetics go and if the PS5 Slim eventually rolls around it should end up being much easier to position at the side of your 4K television.

We haven’t heard too much in the way of PS5 Slim news and rumours up to this point remember that the PlayStation 5 only made its debut in November 2020 but there has already been a gorgeous fan-made render of what a slimmed-down PS5 console could end up looking like, courtesy of LetsGoDigital and Concept Creator.

Ps4 Slim Review: So Is It Just A Thinner Model Ps4
The PS4 Slim comes with a Blu-Ray-ready disc drive, and the usual selection of ports on the front and back.
To quote the Sir Humphrey Appleby, the answer is yes and no. The answer is yes in the sense that if you buy this new console you are getting the same basic gaming system as if you bought an original PS4. Power consumption is down 28 per cent compared to the original model, and the new system runs quieter and cooler too, however in terms of resolution and framerates, do not expect your games to look and play any different.
No, the new thinner PS4 is still a 1080p gaming machine, with games running at 1920×1080, and at 30 or 60 fps depending on graphical complexity. As such, if you are only interested in a games machine that can play titles at 4K resolution, then you can probably stop reading this review right now. If, however, you are in no rush to adopt 4K, or are quite happy for your 4K TV to do some upscaling itself, then read on.
On the other hand, the answer is no as this slimmer PS4 does in fact make a number of changes from the original model that, in general, are all for the better, making it a great all-round gaming machine.
Playstation 4 System Software
The console does not require an Internet connection for usage, although more functionality is available when connected. The PS4 is the first to include a WebKit-based web browser, which is a departure from its predecessor’s NetFront browser it is based on the same modern WebKit core as and Safari, giving it high compatibility in HTML5 compliance testing.
The console introduces a customizable menu interface, the “PlayStation Dynamic Menu”, featuring a variety of color schemes. The interface displays the player’s profile, recent activity, notifications, and other details in addition to unlocked trophies. It allows multiple user accounts, all with their own pass-codes. Each player account has the option to share their real name with friends, or use a nickname in other situations when anonymity is important. profiles can be connected to PlayStation Network accounts, making it easier to recognize friends. The default home screen features real time content from friends. The “What’s New” activity feed includes shared media, recently played games, and other notifications. Services from third-party vendors, such as Netflix and , can be accessible within the interface.Multitasking is available during gameplay, such as opening the browser or managing party chat, and switching between applications is done by double-tapping the “PS” button.

Is a slimmer mid-gen upgrade on the way?
It feels like the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro have only just been released, but in a manner similar to the pregnancy rumors that inevitably seem to stick to celebrity power couples, were already hearing that Sony could be planning to release a PS4 Pro Slim.
WCCFtech has unearthed a recent report in the Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes which has said that Sony is planning to release a slimmer version of its PlayStation 4 console in order to target the holiday sales period. The report doesnt actually say whether this console will simply be an even slimmer version of the already existing PS4 Slim or whether it will be a smaller version of the PS4 Pro. The latter scenario does, however, seem significantly more likely if the rumors are to be believed.
A slimmed down version of the PS4 Pro for release during the holiday period would make a lot of sense. Come Christmas, the original PS4 Pro will be a year old so a new look with, perhaps, some improved or additional functionalities would be ideal to reignite consumer interest.
Ps4 Slim Vs Ps4 Pro: Understanding 4k And Hdr On Playstation
PlayStation 4 Pro also offers 4K video streaming and enhanced graphics on supported titles. Game developers will have the option to offer higher quality graphics to PS4 Pro gamers, which will be clearly labeled with PS4 Pro Enhanced on the box. Not only are most new PlayStation games being made to support this Enhanced ability, many of the more popular games from the past year are releasing updates to look better through the more capable console.
As for HDR support, while all of these consoles are technically capable of outputting HDR visuals thanks to a software update from Sony, the HDR content offered by almost every app and game doesn’t apply to anything but the Pro. HDR is typically tied to either 4K content or PS4 Enhanced content, neither of which will play on these older consoles.
You can buy a PS5 right now, but stock is extremely difficult to come by.

Should I Upgrade To The Ps4 Slim
Compared with the original PS4, the only drastic feature missing from the PS4 Slim spec is an audio out jack, which most wont find themselves needing. The main reason you’d likely consider an upgrade to the Slim is if you care about the size of the actual console. The PS4 Slim is about 1/3 smaller than he PS4 Fat. The other benefits include a more rounded case design and a new version of the DualShock 4 controller. Other than that, the specs are the same.

How To Choose A Ps: Ps4 Ps4 Slim Or Ps4 Pro
In June 2020, not long after a certain global pandemic called COVID 19 disrupted life as we knew it, Sony announced their new games console. It is, of course, the PS5. It is due for release at the end of the year along with an upgraded version, the PS5 Pro. Along with the release of the Xbox series X, 2020 will undoubtedly be the year of the next-gen! And it’s also the perfect time to check out the previous generation of consoles from Sony, the PS4 and its more advanced editions, the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro . Why is now a good time to consider the PS4? Put simply, the video game catalog for this console is excellent and prices are always lower when a new model is released, as is the case with the iPhone. You could also double your savings by opting for a refurbished PS4 instead of buying new. The price will be even lower than for a new PS4 and you’ll save a few kilos of electronic parts going to waste. Sounds tempting? Sony offers 3 versions of this games console the “standard” PS4 , and the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro . So, which one to choose?
Ps5 Slim Will It Happen
You only have to look at Sonys past console history to know that a PS5 Slim release is almost guaranteed to happen. For starters, weve got slimmer versions of every major console to date PSOne, PS2, PS3 and PS4, not to mention revision for PSP and PS Vita. Its only a matter of time.

Playstation 4 Pro And Playstation 4 Slim
Sony released a slimmer version of the PlayStation 4 in September 2016 along with an announcement for a more powerful console dubbed the PlayStation 4 Pro.
The PlayStation 4 Slim was 40 percent smaller than the original PS4 and came with a number of cosmetic and design improvements, but featured similar hardware specs.
The PS4 Pro, which was released in November 2016, boasted a significant step up in processing power. While the original PS4 could only handle 4K-quality media content, the PS4 Pro could output 4K gameplay as well. Gamers can get better graphics, resolution, and rendering from the PS4, which was the most powerful console on the market until the release of the Xbox One X in November 2017.
Dolby Atmos Support For Games
This isnt absolutely essential, but introducing Dolby Atmos support for games would be a nice addition to the PS4 Pro Slim and really add to the 4K HDR visuals it offers.
At the moment, the Xbox Insiders are able to access Dolby Atmos sound when watching Ultra HD Blu-rays on their consoles. There are rumors circulating that this support will soon extend to games, making the Xbox a full Dolby Atmos experience.
Itd be sensible, then, for Sony to begin introducing this to PlayStation in order to be able to claim that it offers similarly immersive gaming experiences.

Playstation 4 Slim Vs Pro: What’s The Difference
Sony has a history of releasing a “slim” version of the PlayStation a couple of years after its initial release. In the past, those consoles have been labeled a little differently at launch to make it easier to tell the new version apart from the old one. These slimmer versions typically offer more a physical difference than a functionality difference, and this year is no different. The significant feature and performance difference comes with the PlayStation 4 Pro, and even then the difference isn’t huge unless you own a 4K television with HDR support.
That last bit is a lot more important thank you may think. There are a lot of 4K televisions out there, but not quite as many 4K televisions support High Dynamic Range or HDR. Where an increase in resolution from 1080p to 4K can often mean improved details in the games you play, adding HDR means the colors in every aspect of those games are more vibrant and lifelike. Games with wide-open spaces and lots of scenery will truly pop on these displays, especially when combined with 4K resolution.
This change in power consumption means the “slim” PS4 will consume far less power when performing the same tasks, including sitting idle. For parents, this means a cheaper electricity bill when your kid leaves the PS4 on all day because they’re in the middle an important part of the game.
PlayStation VR performance is something altogether different.
Ps4 Slim Release: What We Think We Know
Console revisions are a staple of living room gaming. Every console generation ushers in an initial wave of new hardware, followed by smaller waves of upgrades for that hardware. For months, weve heard that Sony planned to introduce a PS4 NEO console with upgraded hardware. If recent reports are true, the company also has plans to introduce a PS4 Slim to compliment the PS4 NEO.
Hardware upgrades for video game consoles used to come in just one flavor. Every so often, Microsoft and Sony introduce smaller, cheaper to make versions of the console that they already offer. Because theyre the same, but have a smaller footprint, weve taken to calling these versions Slim models.
If the PS4 NEO is something new and exciting, the PS4 Slim is a classic Slim-style upgrade for the PS4. Leaked photos of the consoles box and hardware indicate that the PS4 Slim will be a redesigned, thinner version of the PS4 console that Sony launched back in 2011.
Heres what we think we know about the PS4 Slim release.
